Look, let me just say that I'm a Bethesda fanboi going back literally 20 years. I've played everything they've put out since Morrowind for hundreds of hours. I even enjoyed Fallout 4 (which a lot of people think was shit). But I think this title is too broken, too close to release, and even if it were working correctly, it's not delivering an experience commensurate with the scale, reach and capability of Bethesda Game Studios, ESPECIALLY given that this is a $60 game BEFORE the bonus editions and WITH microtransactions.
Relax, dude. Shills gonna be shills. Your complaints are mostly valid. After F4 all hope is dead for me, they didn't fix anything and added more problems than improvements yet again, and this time they did the same asweel, they managed to cut what was left of their own previous fallout games for making it a "multiplayer survival expirience" (read in Jim Sterling salty voice). Imo players should be some special kind of idiots to think that lack of npcs is a FEATURE.
This is horrible graphics for a AAA 2018 tittle , how can the graphics on a PS4 tittle ( RDR 2 ) be sooo much much better then this Fallout Beta/Demo on a standard beast P.C.
I don't have access to a high end p.c so I'm mainly on console and even I can see these graphics are more like Fall out New Vegas then a tittle for the current generation.
Skill Up oohhh look at you “commensurate”.
I'm not one to dislike or hate on games but since F3 was one of my 1st pc games which I loved I have to say this game is gonna suck. You can fix most of the bugs but you cant fix the games core design. They have tried to please everyone with this survival sim with PvP and tacked on PvE elements that does not work in the wide scheme of things.
Therfore I wont be suprised if this game is dead within 6 months unless Bethesda can change the core design with PvP being too in the center and almost no world building with no Npc's. Frankly I dont see it happening.
Other than that your points on this game are completly valid and it makes me want to play F4 instead which tbh I dident like.
If u played "Hundreds of hours" then u know the game is not about looks at all, you haven't mentioned Elder Scroll Online (I know the name but to make it easier) you would see the correlation. If you really played the game as much as you have then you would know the Lore of the fallout universe. If u played hundreds of hours you would know why VATS is in the game and why it is the way it is now because of PVP, not gonna lie it sounds like you don't know shit about this game period u played Morrowind cool u played FO4 cool. Does not mean you are a fallout fan boi
People who say that this game is fun with friends may not understand that you can give me and my friends some dirt and we would still have a good time
Lol... but does your dirt have fetch-quests and microtransactions? 😋
Mike Baker some bits of animal shit doesnt make it any less dirt
Difficult to comprehend for some that you can have fun with your friends without throwing money at corporations.
Sebastian Stockbridge that’s basically all we had before computer games. 😄
There is a shit ton of other, older games where you can have more fun in co-op. Rust and DayZ comes to mind instantly.
I think, as an Australian, you missed the hyper-realism of this game. This is the actual frame rate one experiences when visiting West Virginia in person.
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
I laughed so hard at this
Hahahahahahahah jokes galore
Hmm... of my three jokes I thought the "the trolls in 76 will be younger than this game's engine" was the winner, but Lord SkillUp has spoken. 😋
@@reaper4591 Turns out that watching Fallout 76 is the same as playing it: You have to BYOF (bring your own fun). 😊
Man, some horse armor would really improve this game.
Dont let todd hear you say that. 😂
@pierce Yes. ...also a depiction of my soul.
@pierce Something so needlessly complicated that most people lack the patience to understand it.
@pierce I never went. In the majority of cases, college is for suckers.
Skillup was wrong this one was the best joke you posted lol
they say the Fallout 76 Beta is still going on to this very day
TheHouse677 Yep. I think it's still going on now in 2020... and still in Alpha Stage.
Still going…
Those that defend this, are not even NPCs. They are level 26 Protectrons.
their not even protectrons, their corpse's with a holotape
They are more like mindless ghouls with Bethesda-given cash in each hand, but whatever.
They are the people who enjoy something you dislike.
@Pirate Gaming100
No, they are the "people", that have to GIVE the "impression", that there are "people who enjoy" *a sub-par, unfinished, broken by design product, that has the BALLS to have a 60$ price tag.* Wherever they are actual "gamers/fanboys" in denial, because they want to "PROTECT" their fragile ego's, after making a bad decision for themselves (or feeling dumb for being mislead by their own hype), or actual viral marketeers/employees of a company doing manipulative damage control (like in f*cking politics), It doesn't effin matter to me. It's dishonest, disgusting, and irrelevant.
But yeah, you go ahead and "enjoy" whatever. ;)
Nah games fun, I've only ever played fallout 4 and I don't consider myself a "true fan" or anything. I think not playing the previous games has allowed me to be less toxic towards these new games as well. I very much enjoy going around with my single action revolver and dope ass "fire breather" outfit shooting giant frogs and tics. I also definitely feel all the textures are better looking and higher definition. Vats is perfectly fine, but everyone is freaking out about it. I find it really useful when shooting small/fast enemies and using it in pvp is iffy as in it only hits like 60% of the time. I also don't mind gunplay but that's probably just me. I will admit that the story feels a little weird, I can't really put my finger on why but eh. Also people freaking out about the final launch is retarded. Bethesda is a big ass studio and they're always, always working on the game. Like since day one of the beta so relax the game will be fine on release and if it is janky we can look to future updates for bug fixes. The games is fine solo, granted I've only played like 4-5 hours solo compared to all the others hours since the 30th. Then there's the pip-boy which is weird at first but you get used to it really really fast and I personally think it's more fun that way. Base building is fun but not important. The only things you may need it for is a stash, but you don't actually need a base for that, you can find them at red rockets. Anyways I'm tired so yeah, games fun and people are being toxic because it's not new Vegas.
Just think... when you play this game, some of the trolls harassing you in PvP might be as old as this AAA game's engine.
I'm assuming you mean EXACT and not relative equivalence... 😂😂😂
?
dont woosh me kid i got that i just think the second joke is ass
Can you please tell the fallout 4 mods you are using for this stream? I reallyy like the colorful map in particular.
I've been pleading for Bethesda to fix the utterly terrible fallout maps for *years*. So, there's one good thing about this game. I just never thought it would come at the cost of NP-fricking-Cs. That's some monkey's paw wish granting right there.
Raymond Stewart I can't tell if you're joking
Raymond Stewart I meant to say that to the other guy
@@reddeadnoone3451 In these crazy modern times, it is impossible to determine what is (and what is not) satire without a winky face.
Lol
I honestly can't understand why so many people are defending this game. It looks like crap, it runs like crap, the environment feels lifeless, and you never feel like you have any meaningful impact on the world around you. It's a Fallout game without any of the things that make a Fallout game compelling. Bethesda are just using the Fallout name to sell more copies of the game, which will in turn earn them more money through microtransactions.
Sunk cost fallacy.
Holy shit, I should have expected it, but Jesus. People in the comments who say they’ve watched all your videos and “I can’t believe you’re straying away from your usual content and just hating on this game.” I understand there are fanboys, but I don’t understand how people defend this. It’s like the opposite of what happened with the recent Diablo Mobile debacle
Bethesda perfected the art of making flawed and bugged games, while still getting top scores and praise for it.
They have been doing this for decades at this point. I am not surprised in the slightest.
It just looks so empty.
Nah b, the maps huge as shit and there is constantly things to explore.
@@balinhodge6864 *empty of compelling things to do. For some people being in a big world with lots of tedious generic busywork is enough, for many (like the clear majority in this comments section), it's not.
Balin Hodge You must be a real loser is you like playing fallout 76
@@fly8837 ..What? "you must be a real loser is you"? Please clarify..?
agreed, and from what little I've recently seen, it STILL looks e,pty and barren as fuck!.. time for this game and its servers to die. actually, the time for that is long overdue so lets convince the brainless fanboys to just let it fucking happen, already!!!
I like how you refer to people calling your earlier video one-sided when you literally told people at the end of it to seek out other opinions for balance. Keep doing the Todd's work my friend!
John Martin because some of those people don’t watch the entire video
Rawr, I don't want a reviewer to give me their honest opinion. I want them to honestly give me my opinion. I need validation. If I wanted to be informed I would be watching YongYea right now. #unsubscribed.
Nailed it.
Keep up the good work, Ralph.
Of all the quasi-unbiased Austrialian game reviewers who also carry their brother's channel as a side hustle........ you are the one I am currently subscribed to.
No, what I want is a reviewer to give their own honest personal opinion, not jump on the hatred bandwagon just to (obviously and blatantly) parrot the opinions of others in their community. This is NMS all over again, but not for the reasons people like to believe. Because people are butt-hurt that a game turned out to be something other than what they expected, so they purposely seek out things to bitch about while simultaneously glossing over the fun and enjoyment they did experience. Hating on games is trendy and extremely easy when you're cherry picking your experiences.
In the past if you didn't like a game that you bought, you did your review and moved on. Now you take a baseball bat and continuously beat the dead horse for years after the fact (even after the game does eventually redeem itself).
@Hatake Kakashi
Da f*ck is wrong with you? Do you want this shit trend of crappy, broken, subpar and exploitative games to continue? If you have a better idea than to be extremely vocal and harsh to actual b*ll*hit, PLEASE let us know. And I want proof of your "suggested approach" working, and changing things for the better. But if you don't have anything, please, for the love of this industry and the people that spend money on it, SHUT THE F*CK UP, and go sit on a cactus.
@@OnizukaKakashi47 If you check the timeline of public opinion turning against this game, you'll find that, rather than jumping late on a bandwagon, SkillUp hand built the bandwagon in his workshop and has been the teamster of the ride since the moment of its E3 announcement.
He was skeptical of this game all the way back at its E3 launch when *no one else* was hating on this game.

Idk why but I always come back to this video to fall asleep when I’m having trouble sleeping
I’m not here for the gameplay but instead here to watch him roast every aspect of this shameless cash grab
Am.I.Thirsty Tho how is this a cash grab?
It’s the fucking beta, and they can update it later to help improve the game quality, and you don’t know what they can do in 9 days, soooooo...
Thot Partrol reply to this comment again in a month. Then tell me what you think.
@@joshuaweaver5316 Like him and a lot of other people have stated, the problems with this game aren't the "bugs" or other little annoyances... No. the problems are DEEPLY rooted. And it's not something that can likely EVER be fixed. It's the lack of care put into this. No npcs. No story. endless side-quests. The utter disdain for the lore. The "Oh lets put every faction and other easily recognizable things into this game even if it doesn't make sense just so it sells". The middle finger at Steam. The cash shop. The same goddamn engine. All the reused assets from Fallout 4, and most importantly, the price tag.
Honestly, if this game was like 20$ as a fallout 4 dlc, NOONE would complain. but THIS? THIS is a cash grab. pure and simple.
Asking people to drop 60$ PLUS!! for the premium editions of the game, PLUS!!!! the microtransactions, all for something this lazy and uninspired? It's insane!!
@@joshuaweaver5316 god dude everything ABOUT this is a cash grab. How can you not see it.

Lot of Bethesda shills everywhere

@@kylio95 I'm real disappointed in Ox. I still watch his old content, but I'll refuse to watch his stream until he stops playing this shit.
It's almost like you shouldn't let a team that makes rpg's make full fps pvp games. Who would've thought.
It's an amazing ps2 game, come on, m8!
Why couldn't this be a 30$ Fallout 4 standalone dlc with optional coop?
@@kraenk12 yeah this is going to happen for sure
@@kraenk12 it happened.
Im so hyped for the rdr 2 review
Same!
Wait, he's actually making one??
And hopefully he’s willing to risk upsetting his subs by being honest with it.
mona lisa What do you mean? RDR2 is a perfect 10/10, best game ever! Kappa
If they had flipped these assets to deliver more Fallout 4 (after all, the great NV had a lot of reused assets as well), I'd have been happy to throw money at this game. But flipping assets to make some sort of watered down Rust clone? Noooo thanks.
probably the most uninspired game of 2018 imo
Don’t forget that Metal Gear Survive released this year too.
If F76 beat MG:Survive on that aspect, than you know it’s total garbage.
People should see that, but a lot of them are too stubborn to make the effort to do so.
Fallout series has A LOT MORE blind shills, sadly, so it'll probably work out.
On the other hand i hope actually decent old games like Rust will have a slight resurgence after that.
I still don't know what's the goal of this game. Is there a main mission thread that you can beat?
Its like Rust or DayZ but with some small bits of lore.
@@ShoorfLonelyLokly Thanks for taking the time to answer my question! I really want to understand what this game is about but none of the streams gave me a good idea. I'll check out those two games.
It's very refreshing to see a content creator on youtube who just spits out his real opinion about games. Not like the other ones who promote every shitty game just because they get some money or dont want to get a shitstorm from the game's community. Keep on the great work!
(Btw i loved every elder scrolls title and played the shit out of fallout 3 and 4 but this soulless game will not come into my house.)
You complain bout the bugs right now people say oh it's in beta when you say something bout the bugs when it comes out they say it just came out give it a break and if you wait 6-12 months they'll say oh it's not a big deal or the modders will fix all the while making seem like you're the bad guy for wanting a game that doesn't break every 5 minutes
Yep.
For fucking real though. I'm so tired of the ”Uhh it's only a beta” excuse. Who tf would manage to fix the whole game in less than 2 weeks? Ye, good fucking luck.
If it was an honest troubleshoot beta, it would have been release months ago. This is just disgusting and they'll still defend it
There won’t be modders to fix this one, but I’m sure that hardly matters to the cult now
Those people are idiots, ignore them. A product should not be released as a final game (and this is final, the beta thing is bullshit to make people think they're getting exclusive access) with this many faults and issues.
Plain and simply, it's a mess of a game put together by a bunch of retards. Just a fact.
1. If you pay for a game 60 bucks you should be getting a full game
2.Look at the game now.... Just this week hackers stole many many many MANY players invetories empty... 1 year has passed and the anticheat is absolute horse shit
Being a fallout fan, personally I think this game is awful. It's clunky, outdated, lacks key features, has bad graphics/gameplay that is like time travel to 2008
@Tomáš Pavlík I played it for straight ten-ish hours. If you truly believe this game will turn gold in 10 days, good 4 u.
@Tomáš Pavlík Goddamn you're a fucking idiot
@Tomáš Pavlík Are you still playing?
Please, do more streams on CZcams like this, having the auto close captions is very helpful for me in understanding you. Enjoyed watching this stream. 😋
I see this game for what it really is; just a platform for them to "surprise" everyone with the inevitable Battle Royale update.
Schaemhazai I doubt they’ll have battle royale. It’s already jumping on the survival trend.
Player Unknown: "I can't believe Battle Royale made people forgive what is otherwise the buggiest game we could possibly cobble together."
Bethesda: "....hold my beer."
E3 2019 Battle Royale mode coming soon
Nice prediction
This comment aged well
29:22 This game was literally going to be a DLC for Fallout 4. They probably spent a good amount of money on the development and realized they can make way more money selling it as a full game. Greedy bastards ruined a fantastic franchise. From the very beginning they've misunderstood what a decent Fallout game is and when New Vegas is thrown in their laps after only a year and a half development time they can't even learn from that game.
This game was supposed to be very good, but then they ran out for money because of all the cheerleaders they had to pay... and Todd's leather jacket.
I do not usually watch let’s play style streams, but found myself watching this. Have to say, I really dig your vibe here. Felt like hanging out with a good friend. I also really liked your using it to demonstrate the basis for game design observations of the game as a companion to your more intensely designed reviews. Would love to see more of this. Will be looking through your stream archives.
Actually giving a like and a subscribe because of your comments at 1:25:45. While I don't agree with everything you have said for the game I do agree with some of the issues you've brought up. The fact that you are very calm about your comments unlike other content creators and that you tell people to get other opinions is great. Your opinions won't line up with and appeal to everyone, and that's fine. I may not agree with everything you say but I do enjoy the way you express it. Keep making good content.
I find it so funny that the fallout game in which you can actually meet real people is the one that feels the epmtiest
Can I smell microtransactions for more inventory space? :} :D
:o
Wow. 😂🤣😂
I got no idea why CZcams decided this should be next on my auto play list.. game is on sale atm tho for 10 euros/dollars. (No one will see this comment, I know)
I'm a big Fallout games fan but i 'll pass on this one .
So disappointing man... We most likely won't see a next fallout game before 2025, and that's optimistic. For the people that were let down by 4, that's **AT LEAST 15 YEARS** without a good fallout game, assuming the next one is any good. That's insane, the licence is basically dead for us. No wonder so many people are very vocal with their disappointment.
Thank you for telling it like it is man.
The part of the more "traditional" fallout fan base really need people like you
I wonder how Creation Engine will perform in 2025.
Yep, the ES fans also have it bad as well. They haven't a had new single player ES game since 2011.
@Adolf Hitler ....again? 😋🙃
15? You have a degree in computer science? I'm guessing not. 😂😂😂
@@Vicous528 You can tell from his statement that he's counting from Fallout 3 to the present plus a standard Bethesda game lead time to get 15 years between Fallout 3 and Fallout 5(?) Reading comprehension is not that hard.
As always, appreciate your integrity, looking out for gamers and your knowledge of the game industry.
Sometimes I watch this when I need a momentary cure for sadness. Plus Ralph's voice is mildly soothing...mildly.
Is it me or are the "scorched" literally mute raiders with a red ghoul skin?
I love your voice Skill Up. I fell asleep to it. Ended up in a dream, where the two of us and a random teamed as a trio in a game like naruto in an open world. We fought off hordes of l33t hackers
I subscribed for your comment about the water:P Some call it "nit-picky" but it's HONEST. You're RIGHT, the game FACTUALLY does not look stunning when compared to games in recent years and games, as you've mentioned, like Red Dead Redemption 2. The people saying this game "looks stunning" are considering this game with no comparison to other games at all, that's just factual because YES, as you've mentioned, this game looks like it was released years ago. Thank you for telling the truth!
I hate how not a single reviewer ever mentions that this "Morrowind" Engine, still is incapable of a working duck/crouch mechanic!
Try to crouch somewhere underneath. YOU CAN'T!
Basically only the camera moves a notch down and the 3rd person model shows a reduction of the Player Characters height.
But in fact, the actual collision model is still in full standing T-Pose, and will not allow you to go beneath anything that is lower than your standing characters head!
The crouch button is freaking pointless in all Bethetic games! An recurring engraved engine issue, since Morrowind immemorial!!!
What you said in your last video was necessary.
This should of came out a year after 4 tbh it would have stood a better chance
Even the fallout 4 was showing it's age
good idea. It could've been paid DLC for FO4, people would've been stoked for that, I bet.
Not me, but people.
Or not at all.
That Protectron fight at the end was epic. Worth watching the whole video for.
BGS games have never had strong combat, but on some level it has always been forgiveable because the games offered so much more to the player. Now there's not anything else. It's now just combat and fetch-quests given to you by holotapes.
Thanks for the VOD, always enjoy them. Keep up the fantastic work bud, love your reviews and especially how you do them
This whole thing only makes sense to me if 1. these missteps, like using an ancient engine, are actually intended to keep resources as low as possible so they can focus on Starfield and 2. The decision to try an online multiplayer game is research for adding that component to Starfield. So Fallout 76 is a short term sacrifice to serve longer term goal of a greater Starfield
My guess is they are developing a new engine for Starfield, or heavily improving a current one. It might make sense to focus on one new engine rather than put resources into improving this one.
Trying to do online open world multiplayer game is a huge fustercluck of an undertaking. Even folks with lots of experience screw it up. So, to me, it only makes sense to me for them to take this on if it had additional value beyond a game they know is a big gamble.
Of course, I’m missing way to much info to really know. But it seems they hoped they could squeek by a small success or at least not a flop, with minimal investment, and allocation their money and resources toward a hopeful smash hit with Starfield. To be honest, even though it certainly sucks now, fast forward to when Starfield comes out, it might be a good strategic decision.
To be clear, I’m not trying to defend them. Just trying to understand why they made these decisions.
Jason Caputo They made these decisions because Cash Grab, plain and simple. Fallout has never been, nor will ever be, meant for multiplayer. Beth knew this and said "Fuck it" anyway. If enough people are dumbasses then they'll throw money at it. I was absolutely fuckin pissed when Todd announced this game at E3. A multiplayer Fallout, really? That goes against everything that Fallout is. I will never understand how "Fallout" and "multiplayer" could even ever end up in the same sentence. Horrible concept. You couldn't pay me to try to play it, just based on the idea alone. End of story for me.
...and really, Starfield is supposed to be multiplayer as well? Automatic deal breaker.
'I don't give a fukin shit about starfield, I didn't paid $60 to contribute to some starfield greater good, I paid for this game so it should work'
This would've been mine view 2 years ago but luckily it isn't now because I've refunded my $60 so whatever the f happens to Bethesda and their garbage I don't care
I'm 50 so I remember Atari and early pc games that all quests were written on the screen, and players longed for the day game characters would be interactive and actually talk to you so you would not have to read the screen all of the time, so the quest delivery seems to be a 35 year step backwards.
People had issues with Fallout 4's Graphics, calling it outdated. And I fully agree on it.... their engine and graphics are outdated.
Don't buy it.
Fallout 76 has the best graphics out of all the games that came out in 2004. Also, it's like Skyrim with guns. 10/10
More like Elder Scrolls Arena with guns...
Really love this again. Do more of these I watched all 3 hours of it.. You put me on the division man, after I seen your video I had to get it and really enjoyed it. I'm 33 years old and I love gaming channels Iike yours.
There's only one mistake in this masterpiece. At 21:00 SkillUp mentions that every item in the stash costs the developer money. That's been debunked. An item in the stash is basically represented by a single item code (a sequence of 1s and 0s). For example a Nuka Cola might have code "1883". Storage costs on the main cloud platforms are publicly available, and its literally cents on the dollar. You could store billions of items for millions of users and it would still be a few dollars MAX.
The best, top of the line online storage solution available on the market today is AWS S3 from Amazon Web Services. It costs **$0.021** per GB per month. You read that right: that's 2 cents a month. One Gigabyte can store 1'000'000'000 bytes, so about 250 MILLION objects. That's 250 objects for 1'000'000 players. For 2 cents a month. One single copy of FO76 is 60 bucks, that's enough for 3'000 months of storage (about 300 years)
Bethesda limits the stash so that people get Fallout 1st. MONEY!!!
"The reactor core is open it's turning people into marsupials"
"You didn't see that. YOU DIDUNT!!"
OMG, thanks a lot, I'll never be able to watch the Chernobyl miniseries again without laughing when they say "the core is open"!
skill up what is that black air brushed effect around enemys same as the sand bags shading ?
so if fallout 76 is a watered down fallout 4 and fallout 4 was a watered down new vegas that is quite shocking considering fallout 4 had a horrid storyline and side quests were less interesting and a lot of the rpg systems got ripped out. Bethesda may have to have a failure before they realize they need to build a new engine for the first time since morrowind and write good stories and not make insulting quest design that is go here kill this get loot and make quests engaging.
PreAcH
fallout 4 is a watered down fallout 3. Fallout New Vegas was an improved Fallout 3. Not to mention New Vegas wasn't made by Bethesda.
One of the things I hate about not having a facebook is the inability to wish fellow Marines a happy birthday. Serious question, are the trees from the pre-war assets of FO4, where there were trees with foliage? I can't quite tell.
2:00:23 That's so true. I don't know why they decide to not add any NPCs.
You explaining storage space makes a lot of sense, that data is physically stored on HDD (V or not), so the less they give you the less space it takes on their servers. My first thought to conquer this problem is; stash is infinite but client side, every X seconds/minutes it is parsed through and a .txt or other very small file is sent to their server. The problem is the hackers modifying the stash on their client side, that is the problem, once solved other companies could start doing as well, end this cycle entirely.
An inventory of hundred thousands items would still be just a list of string of ID's, which is a very, very small amount of data. The real problem is that if you had infinite storage space in a world filled to the brim with unique useless garbage, soon you wouldn't be able to find anything.
In Australia this is gonna cost $100. I'm not paying 100 for this buggy unoptimized crap.
You’ll sooner convert all who follow Christianity to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster than get these fanboys off Bethesda’s side.
Great stream! and thank you for responding to my question! Can't wait to see your review on Red Dead Redemption 2!
I like your brutal honesty in this great game. Makes you appreciate it more. Nice video (Thumbs UP)
These comments are exactly why Bethesda releases this game. It is a lazy game and an attempt to rake in the cash. And it WILL work.
Stupid people, stupid people never change.
@NPC #873906 Well every person I know who traditionally loves fallout (and would usually buy any of their games even if it "seemed" risky > see fallout 4 not looking like a good game) I know pretty much no one is buying it.
I waste my money quite freely on a lotta shit, games mostly, but this time I refuse to give Bethesda a reward for being assholes.
The only thing that will make this game good for me is adding npc and a private multiplayer where you can only play with your own friends and do the story together
Watching this made me realize why Bethesda sell this from their own online store = No refunds
who are all these missions for? There is no one in the world, so who gives you the caps that u earn? "Retrieve samples" for who??
We are playing the same way, rifles and shot guns.
Quest list is covering 1/4 of the screen. Nice.
Solid review and honest feedback. Much appreciated i have the very same thoughts on this game. Still have my preorder despite the shortcomings
The sad part is if you just watch 1 hour of this video or less you’ve pretty much seen the entire game
When I saw those robots respawn at the end it made me think of Sisyphus.
>When you wake up in the morning with Autoplay on
>Who the fuck is this guy??
so nice to fall asleep to the destruction of bethesda and f76 as background noise 💛
This game looks like total shit honestly, i was going to buy it but not now.
Something tells me you were never gonna buy it. This guy just isn't very good at the game either.
why even buy old engine trash and unfinished game my friend? bethesda just jerk off and laught at you who buy this game! they say wooow we made that old rubbish game and idiots fall for it wooow!
@@balinhodge6864 I was going to buy the game, i was extremely hyped about it, the game looks like a PS3 game and honestly Fallout 3 looks better than this trash, considering we only have a few more days until it comes out i don't see them fixing any of the problems in time, I'm not basing my opinion on this guys playthrough/gameplay, I've watched many other youtubers videos and they all have nothing nice to say about this game, I've just finished a playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 and it makes this game look like a indie game developed by an indie studio, not a Triple A game developer, Good Day.
I wish they’d switch the bolt to the other side on the Hunting rifle
I find the way you address this game may be one of reasons why you get so much negativity from people who like it or are fans. Many times when you address something you don't like you call it "shit". I feel like doing this causes some people and possibly even developers develop a bias against you for simply being a "hater". You have a valuable platform for communicating with developers and in the past you have said what you say resonates with many of them. In this video you do a good job at outlining many of the problems the game has but I suspect that many people who need to hear it may just switch off the video or tune out what you are saying simply because The title description and the way you begin the video all make it look like your just trashing the game.
Edit: To clarify I am completely ok with swearing, my main concern is how receptive people who are invested in this game will be to the critique in this video.
I mean, I get that. I really do. But at what point should I sugar coat my feelings and opinions in order to seem 'professional' vs how much should I just let it all out there. I understand that people don't like me speaking about a game this way, but this is a $60 product (before special editions) with microtransactions, from one of the most successful studios in videogames history, and it honestly is a quarter-step up from an asset flip. If this was being sold as a $20 DLC I'd probably have lots of very positive things to say about it, but in the context of its price and how out-dated the entire thing is, I struggle to maintain a 'professional' temperament.
@@SkillUp Honestly the question about when you should stop maintaining professional sentiment and just let your opinions flow out is one that only you can really answer. My way of looking at critiques of a terrible product is that if it's so bad the issues that you highlight should speak for themselves and people should be able to make there own judgement about it. The only other thing that I will add is that once you said that SkillUp is where you try to be professional and Laymen Gaming is where you express your personal opinions more.
@@spacialsnowflake4426 I think you make good points, and I think they break different ways in different situations. Here, though, I feel I've done right by my audience by putting out a view of the game in the way that I have. Others will be the final judge of that, though.
This is like the people calling for "respect" when they call out crazy politicians spewing lies. Sometimes you have to call a turd a turd
@@SkillUp After thinking about it I certainly agree that this is the best thing for the audience, not everyone has lots of free time to break down every point about why a game is good or bad. For people like that it is certainly necessary to get across the point that in your professional opinion the game is not worth their 60 USD.
I watched a few minutes before I found myself dry heaving in the bathroom. I don't think I've watched anything that's given me such an intense and immediate motion sickness. I had to listen to the rest without watching the video - only popping in a few seconds here and there to see what was going on. This makes the train-wreck that is PUBG look like a good and well-designed game
Jokes aside, this is like a live review... Honestly man this was pretty awesome. I wonder if you could make this a regular thing? I imagine this stream would have been a lot of fun!
Viewer: This game looks boring
SkillUp: This game doesn’t look boring. It is boring. Lmfao
idk why, but every skillup video eventually lead to this stream, I guess this will forever stayed as a classic footage lol
Pick up bottles at the shooting range......who is coming to use it?
Imagine you've never heard of the Fallout series before and you see this. You'd legit think Fallout is some lifeless shell and never look at it again despite some of the past Fallout games being amazing.
Fallout is not designed to be a multiplayer game! I expected better from Bethesda. Guess they took a page from EAs playbook.
I was going to call you a dumbass but the more I think about it the game heavily leans more towards an MMO than a survival game. (Multiple Events that can be repeated every few hours, and daily quests). Which just made me lose a point for 76.
@@zeratul____1228 this game is most definitely more of a survival game than an mmo. The only mmo elements are multiplayer and events.
Is this live I've never seen live on CZcams?
Quite honestly, with all the problems we're seeing the item bloat is probably the most ridiculous to me. There is *no* reason players need fifty different variants of drink, for example, all it does is clutter your inventory and limit stash space even more. I can't fathom why a design team would intentionally put in hundreds of items that are basically pointless, it makes no sense to me.
OK actually scratch that, the whole combat section at around 3:03:00 is one of the stupidest, most broken things I have ever seen in a video game. EVER. You were facetanking multiple enemies, one of whom was almost twice your level, and ended up taking what, a tenth of your health as damage? This game is a flaming dumpster fire, it's honestly infuriating to see a game this shitty being released by ANY studio, let alone one so well established as Bethesda.
Fucking. Disgusting.
i dont know how i found this video it just started playing
How you were explaining how it's a pain to switch items very fast but it's very slow. That is how I feel the turning time is in GoW unless you press an extra button on the controller which is silly because game design should make him be able to fucking turn fast enough already. The fast turn from that extra button you have to press makes you turn like you did a ton of crack and meth and cocaine at the same time. Simply turning should NOT break a game that shouldn't be possible in a "good" game which I wouldn't say it is.
The worst part is this game at ultra settings on a pc looks less than half of what RDR2 looks like on PS4 pro and 4K tv
Doc Mitchell RDR2 is the most beautiful and detailed game out, even in 2019
"todds god rays from the ground" best quote skill up
Its good to hear and see that you stayed resonable and true to your calling and you say it as it is ^^ I cant count the droves of ppl who call me stupid and\or liar for saying that this game is shit ^^
its at 1.1 million views now, congrats!
This speaks to just how good Outer Wilds is. Where reading notes to learn more about how the Nomai met their end in that game was engaging and immersive, in this game reading for narrative is boring.
Can you play this game before 14november?
If there is no living humans left, who draw treasure maps?
I probably put in 100 odd hours into Conan exiles. It was a decent game without being amazing but what drove me forward was my friends and I working to kill off the severs top clan. Once we did that, there wasn't much left to do in the game and we all just kinda stopped playing. I'm saying this because I don't see how Fallout76 can even reach that somewhat mediocre threshold without the risk and fun of pvp. Maybe I'm being too pessimistic but it just seems... dull.
