those restaurants are belong to the top 1% of the top 1% of all Indonesian. I realised it when the sister of the founder of Gojek himself (which is also a Minister in the Govt) appeared in the video. Then i also realised that i wont be able to afford one plate of the food over there

Alif Sussardi true, these restaurants resonates with foreigners and those who used to live abroad ( eg. rich kids who studied abroad) who really missed the food scene. Or just some rich housewives whose schedules are in and out of salon, spending the day hanging out with their fellow socialite lol

the lunch/dinner set is probably worth about 1 month of UMR. I'd say at least 30% of indonesians, at some point, would have had the money but would never dream of spending it on one sitting meal.

I mean there was quite a sum of five star restaurant in Jakarta back on the 90s during the economic bubble (thanks to the Japanese investors)... My family was one of the lucky ones who happens to caught inside the bubble... It was great... I mean 5 star dishes, 1-2 personal waiters for each table, i was just a kid back then but boooi it was memorable... But when the bubble popped (like ... 2x over the last 2 decades), these kinda luxury doesn't fully recover... I've seen some rise and fall within couple of years, some are still standing but without the same spirit... And those who can really afford the luxury, is about 1-5% of the population... So ... Yeah do the math...

I think it's safe to say that most of the merchant/restaurant featured here is very segmented. It's basically labeled at secret or some sort of hidden gems is because most people in Jakarta doesn't know about it, or simply can't afford it. But you're not technically wrong. All in all, great job in discovering these places, at least now I know where I'll 'consider' to eat when the paycheck comes.
