    I noticed a couple things.
1.) Not a Scratch Golfer defintely is just great with a flat stick. Dre had a ton more better looks at biridie on the front and should have been 2 or 3 up then.
2.) You chunked a few of your tee shots and were not punished by them because you played off hitting matts instead of grass.
    Overall great match.

Because of your influence, while working on my short game at the local First Tee facility... after hitting the chipping green I went ahead and played their 6-hole par 3, too. I did terrible. It humbled me. I will be back. I WILL master this course.
Gonna take some work. Thanks for the encouragement.

Funny timing, I just got back from playing Kensington in the rain this evening! And... I had my first hole in one in about 20 years on the 7th! A bit cheap as it's a 65 yard hole but I'll take it haha. Followed it up with a double lol, overall played ok - I play off about 12 and shot 5 over. Great video as always by the way!

Pitch and putts are VASTLY underrated for mid-high handicappers. We dont have one in my area but if we did I would probably exclusively play it for a whole season. Getting back into the game after years not playing I can drive fairly well, make good iron contact, but my card killers are absolutely chipping/pitching. I could see myself shaving 5-10 strokes off a round easily if I were better there. not having a teacher or anything, I greatly underestimated this part of the game and plan on exclusively practicing chipping/pitching/putting until Im better. you dont win matches with a driver lol

  • @James_Vaughn

Pitch n putts are a great way to practice, as well as a lot of fun. There's one that just opened near me, only six holes (40,50,60,70,80, 100), but it has helped my approach game with partial wedges, and putting immensely. Now I just need to get my greenside chipping in better shape. I'm not aggressive enough, afraid of running them way past, and often leave them way short. That has cost me a lot of unnecessary bogies this year.

I’ve started counting how many feet of putts that I make in a round. It’s a direct correlation to my score EVERY TIME. The tour average is about 75’ of putts made per round(the winners are over 100’). When I beat that number, I’ll shoot even par, or slightly under. However, on days where I make less than 50’ of putts, I’ll shoot mid to high 70’s. You have to make putts. Period. To put this in perspective….. Picking up a 1.5 foot gimme on every hole will only give you 27’ of putts made. That won’t cut it. lol. Even making a 3’ putt on every hole is only 54’. Still won’t cut it. If you’re someone that can get the ball somewhere on, or around the green in regulation, then you can play scratch golf, if you make putts. It’s generally 40% of your score. Let that sink in, and take putting more seriously.

I've been shooting about 5-10 over at my local executive courses and I know even par or better are just a few GIRs away. The par 56 and 58 courses I play are an awesome way to keep my short game sharp and stay confident on the tee box.
