  • I was challenged by a CZcams viewer to a 4-game Busch-Gass Gambit (chess opening gambit variation) match, but what I didn't know is that they were very Stockfish-prepared! Can the BGG survive this challenging test? I must defend its honor!!!!! :)

Your fight against Stockfish was instructive.
Bottom line- it’s a gambit for Lions, not Sheep. You have to go into this knowing your going to sac a piece or 2.
    I love it.

Yes! Any day with Busch-Gass Gambit action is a good day! Honestly the amount of theory needed to have a chance when playing has kept me from trying it out myself, but I think I'll make the leap soon.

Hey bro, if ur worrying about losing rating points, you will lose some at first while learning. Then you quickly win em back and more! Besides, Teacher is Right “ we’re having all the fun”

But after queen in e5 white can play queen in c6 instead of castle that pin the knight and then to castle. So black what could play??

Instead of asking wether the Busch-Gass-Gambit can work against someone who prepared himself with Stockfish against it, just play the Busch-Gass-Gambit against Stockfish on Level 7 or 8. Would be a very good interesting experiment!

What would you recommend against 3.d4? This forces the Scotch if you do 3... exd4
I think the same for not accepting the gambit it all and play 4.d3 and you play a slow italian.

Good question! i think that this is a mistake by white, or at least exd4 nxd4 is a mistake (they can still achieve equality with bc4 instead of Nxd4, and transpose into like a scotch gambit). black should know to play 4... nf6! (avoiding transpositions into a scotch). now if white plays e5, then qe7 just wins at least a pawn. otherwise, after nf6 white plays 5. nc3 and after black castles, white is in a lot of danger with re8 and d5 (and even bb4) coming. it's absolutely not a scotch and white's king is in the center way too long, with a ton of pressure on e4, c3, etc.
Please enjoy this incredibly low-quality game lol
