    They both run the break extremely well, like any other starting PG in the NBA should. I would argue against the "leading ability". I'd say he's a pretty good leader, considering how he influenced the game when he was in. His team was a playoff team when he was in the lineup this year.

  • @AJVersatility19
    @AJVersatility19 Před 11 lety

    Yes he is. I'm just talking about the difference in their play style and how hard it is to be successful with a scoring PG, without having another superstar on the team. Where as a passing PG only needs unestablished players on the team and they'll be dangerous. That's all.

    Im a Cav fan, and as I think Kyrie is better now, Wall's potential is downright scary. A PG with that much explosion and speed is a scary combo.

  • @AJVersatility19
    @AJVersatility19 Před 11 lety

    That's where the Wizards are headed with Wall. An offense running PG who's great off the pick and roll and gets teammates involved. You can't stop that. And if you try, Wall's got, now and in the future, the reliable jumper to make you think otherwise. Cleveland is headed where Chicago is, a great score first PG who is their offense, a team that will hit a wall, and in 2-3 years will evenually have to search for another superstar to bring them over the hunch.

  • @AJVersatility19
    @AJVersatility19 Před 11 lety

    True that. He's 50/50. Perfect balance of reading the defense. If the defense backs off, he scores. If they collapse, he passes. Rarely does he barel down the floor looking to score and ignore his teammates.

    I'm telling you in terms of defensive production they are pretty similar. John Wall is better at keeping his opponent in front of him, but they get steals and blocks pretty much at the same rate.

  • @marcussmith7669
    @marcussmith7669 Před 11 lety

    John Wall has a better +/- than Kyrie, -3.0 to 0.9. Meaning when an opposing team score points, every player on the court for the team scoring the points is credited with a "plus." Every player on the court for the team scored against gets a "minus." A player's overall total is calculated by subtracting the minuses from the pluses. A high plus total is taken to mean that a guy is a good defensive player. Credit about dot com.

    Yeah, Kyrie is the more creative ball handler, but Wall's ability to get to the rim is elite. He could easily be a top 4 pg, alongside Paul, Parker, and Rose before too long.

  • @AJVersatility19
    @AJVersatility19 Před 11 lety

    I agree with you. But when comparing CP3 and Stockton then def CP3 is a pass first. But in this day and age, guys like Big O, Magic, and Nash. All balanced their Score/pass game. CP3 is like that. He's a great balance between scoring and passing. We all know that CP3 can easily average 25 a game if he was a Rose type of guard. He's balanced. Like John Wall, even with his mediocre team Wall still passes more than every other PG. Those guys are great. Or in Wall's case, can be great.

  • @shump01
    @shump01 Před 11 lety

    people mistake kyrie for being better than john wall because most of the time kyrie is more exciting to watch play. The way john wall played at the end of the season made me believe he was just as good or maybe even better than kyrie.

    John Wall and Derrick Rose, and maybe Westbrook are the future of the PG position in the NBA. They have more upside because of athleticism and all have became better shooters since joining the league. Rondo is the best passer tho. Irving is all around good. But not quite them.

    But here's the kicker... Kyrie is well polished in all facets of the game. he is a willing and capable passer. A great shooter and he can create his own shot easily. Wall's game wasn't nearly this developed in his rookie season. no jumpshot and when the fast break wasnt there, well thats all she wrote. Kyrie is in the same position DRose was, ppl say he wasnt a true PG because he scored a lot.. HIS TEAM NEEDED HIM TO, the same way Cavs NEED Kyrie to score. He drops dimes with the best of them

    Almost the same player, Wall has Speed over him but Irving has better shot. If where talking on potential though Irving is going to become the franchise player. Although i do like Wall and loved what he was doing at the end of the year, i just don't ever see him being the main guy in his team. I'm not saying he can't be im just saying i don't see it happening. Irving is just so smooth on the court reminds me a lot of cp3 and that's a good thing.Just my opinion though.

    john wall runs the fast break better simply cause of his speed and quickness, hes already a better defender overall compared to kyrie and a better finisher around the rim, kyrie is a more polished offensive player with a better perimiter game

    If youre talking about pure PG attributes Wall is better than Kyrie. Wall distributes and penetrates better and has more court awareness. He makes his teammates better. Just look at Beal when Wall came back. However, kyrie is a better scorer and shooter by far.

    stop watching 3 point competitions. Wall has a better overall game, especially defensively. Probably one of the best defensive pure PGs in the league, if not the best. He has his feet under him now just wait till he gets this full season under his belt.. He is about to stake his claim.. Kyrie is good though dont get me wrong

    I don't see how the Cavs NEED Kyrie to score. How do they benefit from him scoring 25 a game? By becoming a lottery team and missing the playoffs by 10-20 games? And yea he's polished, that's why I said if you're saying who's the better player, then Kyrie no doubt, but who's the better PG? Not even close.

  • @AJVersatility19
    @AJVersatility19 Před 11 lety

    Oh and how has that worked out for Rose btw? ACL tear aside, the Bulls will go nowhere with just Rose. Teams like Miami showed that put a good defender on him and that's all you need to beat chicago. Because their offense is reliant on Rose scoring. Take that away and they're done. The thing that makes CP3 the best PG is he RUNS the offense, rather than he is the offense. You can't put a great defender on him cuz it won't matter, he doesn't wanna score anyway.

  • @marcussmith7669
    @marcussmith7669 Před 11 lety

    He's one inch taller, wow, what a HUGE DIFFERENCE. Kyrie career steals per game 1.3, career blocks per game .4. Wall's career steals per game 1.5, career blocks per game .7. WOW WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE! JOHN AVERAGES .2 MORE STEALS AND .3 MORE BLOCKS KYRIE! WOOOOOW! John has a better ast/turnover ratio (1.84 to 2.15). Kyrie is more clutch averaging 2.7 points in the last five minutes, John Wall 0.8. FG% in the last five minutes Kyrie 41%, Wall 18%.

  • @blahblah5594
