I'm a combat veteran, and I stopped going to the VA for therapy for PTSD and major depressive syndrome years ago. It took me a whole helluva lot of effort to learn to catch myself when PTSD triggers occurred, and when I'd have flashbacks or hypervigilant states. Sometimes they still happen, but I catch myself now before I spiral down. I agree 100% that "depression" isn't a true "disease," but I WILL say that PTSD episodes can easily trigger depressed states, and it took me a long time to fight back. But I'm getting into shape, going to the gym, and I just got a promotion at work that'll put me in a better financial position than I've ever been in my life.
I'm 45, and I could say I wish I'd learned this earlier in life, but instead I choose to be happy I'm figuring it out now. I'm realistic enough to know that I'm behind enough that I'll never be a top-tier high value man, but I'm working to make myself the best version of myself that I can be, and I'm so much happier now than I used to be. Use the pain to make yourself stronger, that's the real cure for "depression."

@@DirectWaffle thank you pal, yeah I’m past all that. Literally was on my death bed in 2020, came out and in 2021 I was an massive alcoholic in which I got put in jail for crashing my car drunk, then got arrested again for a drunken fight. In 2022 I kept my head down and got a career job, make a living now, amazing wage and invested that money in going on holiday 5 times last year. Was so refreshing to finally get out there, got out of my horrible environment I lived in. Started 2023 in Berlin and came home to a clean slate, got an award at my job for individual of the year for 2022. Just an experience story for anyone that feels bad that you can come back but yeah it all changed for me once I adopted the thinking that it’s up to me to change this, I’m losing in life, nobody will give me a hand out and that happiness is bad for the economy because if we were all happy and satisfied with our lives then why would we want more. The conventional information is so wrong and the awareness is just making depression fashionable, it’s like you have to be depressed to fit in now. People fear jobs, like when I worked at this restaurant this waitress started, she was crying and terrified of work. The harshness of society and the awareness is pumping her head full of it. People today genuinely believe that you catch depression like Covid and that’s it for life, waiting on that one day that’s gonna come a long and you’re better when it doesn’t, people don’t wanna do the work to get out of their horrible situation and then complain about it.

@@ANSVideoGaming I believe the clinical side of it is real, people have chemical imbalances were they don’t produce enough serotonin but this huge spike were it’s now an epidemic is complete bullshit. It’s being pushed so much and very much in fashion that people are convincing themselves they’re depressed due to feeling sad and emotional which is natural for anyone. If it got broken down a lot better in these therapy services, if you were given a reality check and you were told you’re a loser and you have no handouts in life so there’s no point waiting around then it would convince a lot of people to snap out of it and make drastic changes. But nah they tell it to you with no regards to society, that you’re encroached to open up but that’s gonna eat you alive in a society that doesn’t care. I work in a bar in this failed village, by failed I mean it’s flooded with degeneracy, drugs and so on but many walk in and just wanna sit and dwell on their depression while drinking toxic alcohol all night and then they’ll do it again the week after. Told some people they can’t open up to me if they haven’t made any lifestyle changes coz it’s a broken record every week, eventually it rubs off on me coz I don’t wanna be around negative energy. I said either that or they gotta pay a toll for my shoulder to cry on.

So denying scientificlally proven bialogical changes in your brain is speaking truth? Here is the truth. And what he is saying. The real thing he is saying "if you FALL into depression, you are weak" - and "if you kill yourself because of depression, you are not a man and never were to begin with". He is saying depression does not exist and that is just wrong. The key message he is saying is that people should power through that and not be victims. And I am fully behind that. Him saying depression does not exist, it is factually wrong. As a psychologist, the reason he says he does not believe in depression and refuses it is because his mindset and cognitive model has been setup around "if I am depressed, I go fix stuff". He is not capable of seeing it as a full state you can fall into because for him it is an alarm clock. This is a glimpse into his lack of empathy. We would need to see more. But for example the Robin Williams example is part of that. He has no empathy for him because he does not understand him because he does not understand depression because he views it from his point of view of a successful person. Again, for him it is an alarm clock, not a state. In reality, the situation of someone who's has rockets flying above their head, they do not have depression because they "have bigger problems". Their mind cannot poison itself becasue their brain needs to be focused on survival. That does not prove depression does not exist.

So true. Just like exams during school, people are all nervous and shit before the exams even if they worked hard and studied etc. If you're worried then it will compromise your ability to think rationally and you will panic or do poorly. If you just accept that there are things you know and things you may not know. If you go into the exam and just answer all the questions you know instead of worrying about the things you don't know, then you will do the best that you can do on that exam. You aren't going to suddenly make some discoveries while writing the exam for you to answer the questions on topics you don't know, so don't dwell on it. Just accept that you missed that one and maybe you were unprepared and should prepare better next time. However, in the other direction, if you're worried about all the things you don't know, you're going to get too psyched out to answer correctly on the topics that you do know. Having the right mindset if crucial for anything in life.

When a man takes his own life, that does not always mean that he's not a man. Someone i know was suffering from "tumour" which was diagnosed at later stage due to medical misinterpretations. A lot of money was spent on treatment, a lot of pain, a lot of tears were shed by his loved ones. He was always weak, always behind then one day he decided he wanted to free everyone of it, of being not able to provide even if he wants to, he believed everything was for nothing because his end was inevitable. He unfortunately ended his life after thanking his loved ones mentioning how grateful he was for everything. And i miss him dearly. Your friend was different because it was as if he was inevitably going to pass and just keeping him relatively healthy was causing his loved ones pain and costing a lot of money. However, most suicides by men who have children are not because of such circumstances; instead, as Andrew Tate says, many of them suffer from depression or other mental illnesses, which he thinks is selfish of them, which I completely agree with. I agree with some of what he says about environmental depression self loathing type stuff is accurate. At some point you need to take the reins and responsibility and get it figured out. However there are more than 1 type of depression and to deny that chemical depression exists is just ridiculous. I would think the majority of people with depression is more environmental, and or self inflicted but there are definitely a few in there with some type of chemical induced depression and it's a completely different ball game. I would never expect anyone who has not experienced it to understand it because I used to be in the same boat and just think all depressed people just needed to buck up. Then once I was prescribed an antibiotic for an infection. That medication messed my head up so bad so quick it was amazing. I was a completely different person for 2 weeks, it was like a switch in my brain got flip, that quick and I even stopped taking the medication after say 3 days when I started to notice the side effects. After around 2 weeks everything went back to normal but it was a crazy 2 weeks. Now that was due to medication but it's more than reasonable to believe that in some people various chemical pathways in the body are not functioning as well as they should be and a simple up or down regulation of hormones could and would cause similar effects. How to accurately identify one from the other, now that is question.

Finally someone talking sense. Chemical imbalance is real. I really related to when you said about being a different person for 2 weeks. I didn't want to be depressed so I went to the doctor immediately to get my life in order. Real major depression is PAINFUL, like physically painful, wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

alot of people in third world countries have none of that i am so lucky in life andrew tate made me realize that i’m actually very lucky in my life
i can see people in syria and war tone countries have life alot worse who are struggling just to survive
yet alot of people like us who live in first world countries who have food water and shelter and access to healthcare
we are the ones who are sad enough to want to kill ourselves because of problems that are alot smaller than people who have to work hard just to survive
alot of our problems we have would be basically paradise for those people in syria or third world countries

Actually what he says here is even historically proven/ provable. You all know depression as any other mental disorder is described and ranked in the catalogue of mental disorders from the psychiatric association called IDC- 10. When they came up with IDC 10 the had to 'overwrite' the old script. The old script in psychiatry pretty much was psychoanalysis from freud. Psychoanalysis teaches you, if there is a symptom on the mental level (in idc 10 its called disorder, even the labbeling is different), it occurs from the relationsship in your family aka in the structure of your social life. They key to get rid of your smyptoms is then to change either a) these structures directly by for example confronting your abusive dad or reestablish a good relationship with your mother or b) change the self programming patterns on how these structures affect you by methods such as hypnotisation and free association. However, back in psychoanalytics there was the dogma that you dont just have to endure 'mental disorder'. While in the IDC- 10 system everybody just 'feels sorry for you' and is really empathic towards you, without changing something and you get these drugs to being able to endure the pain...
Now some might go a step further and argue, that this is all wanted or lets say put in order that way, because with this new IDC- 10 dogma you have weak, and non self empowering people, and these 'transparent citizens' (to use the term of georg orwell) are easily manipulated and controlled. Nothing makes you less resilient then long term, chronic sickness!

Yes, but Andrew Tate’s perspective is so shallow that he couldn’t possibly consider what someone else could be going through. So, he makes some surface level statement about people who commit suicide being garbage human beings and you should really listen to that and take his advice lmao. He’s just parroting narcissism. All he cares about is accumulating wealth and being able to get everything he wants at the snap of his fingers because he is rich. What a riveting value system that’s completely original. He makes good points about the fact it’s a biological trigger that indicates your life doesn’t align with your own value system and something needs to change. But the rest is all mysogynistic bullshit where he stereotypes men and women and asserts that man’s life is harder.

While I don't disagree with Mr Tate, Please discuss why I have nothing to feel depressed about or to feel uptight about yet my brain chemistry is out of whack and causes me to feel bad. Winning the lottery will not fix it. Sex with Britney Spears will not fix it. So the argument of getting out there and be a man breaks apart in that instance. Anxiety, dont worry! It's not about worrying. It's about chemistry that causes a certain reaction. Far too often I see people who clearly haven't experienced deep clinical anxiety say relax. It just so happens that a lot of people have problems along with their chemistry fall out so it's misdiagnosed as just be a man and you'll be ok. You can't show a blind man the color pink.
