  • Rasheed Wallace says the NBA is struggling with viewership and it needs to create storylines like the WWE, so now refs are getting involved and ejecting stars to create headlines. Players like Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been ejected quickly in recent games.

During the late 90s, there was this narrative that Portland was the “Jail Blazers” even though nobody from the whole team for multiple years didn’t go to jail at all. For most of Sheed’s time in Portland, there were multiple news stories complaining about different players from JR Rider, Damon Stoudamire, Rasheed Wallace, Qyntel Woods and etc having run ends with the law. When Damon Stoudamire’s yellow Hummer got pulled over for speeding coming back from Seattle. Neither Damon or Rasheed were driving the vehicle and it made national news, since the police officer smelled marijuana then two of them had to go to court over the whole situation. Glad a NBA player is talking about the Non-Calls of todays NBA.
    Most people born in the 2000's think 4 steps after or before a dribble is not a travel, carrying is a normal dribble and that pushing off is how you supposed to drive to the basketball. And Pivot foot is pre-historic to today's players.
    I don't even like coaching kids/teens because they want to do things they see on TV/NBA and I don't know how to teach carry, travel and offensive fouls. I'm sorry, you have to find another coach

Now the NBA is on some And 1 sh*t after they tried to act like And 1 was ninjaball even though the NBA was always full of ninjas.

    • @buckybuck1820
      @buckybuck1820 Před 5 měsíci +1

      It’s just as much fault of the Players association as it is the leagues and media’s. They have spent the last few decades bargaining for fewer practices that were less physically demanding, and no doubt pushed for these rules in live games as well. The truth is the players just want to show up for gameday, give a half hearted effort, and collect their paychecks. They all want to provide, including league leadership, the lowest quality product they can in which the public will accept.
      The NBA is particularly sensitive to low effort attitudes from incoming young players. The NBA is an elitist club. You have to win the genetic lottery just to get in college basketball, much less the NBA. So the kids born that way aren’t required to put the same amount of effort out to make it big as other sports. While other sports are not immune in some form to players having to be lucky genetically, it’s not nearly as hard to meet the requirements as it is in the NBA. You have to be 6’3 just to be point guard. Less than 2% are even 6’3 and it gets much harder with every inch. 6’4 and one is considered in the 100 percentile.

      There was the Warriors and Cavaliers for a few years. Part of the reason that some of the intense rivalries have died down is the NBA is more a player focused league, and star players will jump teams to play with their friends. It was pretty common for a star player back 30-40 years ago to stay with the team they were drafted to and play the majority of their career with one team. Larry Bird played his whole career with the Celtics. Magic Johnson played his whole career with the Lakers. Isiah Thomas played his whole career with the Pistons. Karl Malone and John Stockton played the bulk of their careers with the Jazz.
      The thing is now many star players are joining their friends on other teams. Lebron teamed up with the Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh to form a superteam with the Heat for 4 years. Then Lebron went back to Cleveland and played there for a few seasons. Then Lebron signed with the Lakers and demanded that star players (Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook) get traded to the Lakers. KD left OKC to join Golden State for three years and the Warriors went to the Finals for those three years. Then KD left the Warriors to team up with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn for a few years. And there are plenty of stars that do that now.

    2015 marks the year the NBA implemented a lot of rule changes instituted to allow players in the NBA to score more POINTS.This is documented proof NOT opinion of 14 NBA rule changes made to make scoring in the NBA EASIER.🤓It’s NOT the players fault.🧐1stThe league appointed a select committee to review and revise the rules,chaired byJerry Colangelo, to make changes to the rules in order to make the game faster, provide freedom of movement by the offense and level the playing field for smaller players (Blinebury,2006). 2ndPlayers can take four steps basically now,3rd players can’t hand check,4th players can carry the ball consistently without being penalized,5th ANALytics have taken over the game with Stat padding, 6th defense is NOT a priority in the game, 7th players are injured far more often, 8th you don’t see 1on1 matchups where two of the best players that play the same position duel each other on offense and defense,9th an abundance of players rest DNP or choose not to play various games not due to injury but team/personal decisions, 10th the defensive 3 second rule took the big man out the game from dominating the paint, 11th 5 second rule, 12th the 3 point line was shortened actually before 2015, 13th eliminating illegal defense guidelines and allowing “Zone Defense”; 14th the mid-court 10-second rule was reduced to 8 seconds in order to further increase the speed of the game,🧐

    How is this still surprising? The Nba has been creating storylines to sell tickets since before 1960. Champions have been predetermined or at best influenced. When Billions are being made there gonna do whatever to maximize that profit in any way.
