"Anonymous" is the most prolific composer in history, and he is immortal!
This Anonymous is sounding better by the minute!
This brings me back to my medieval reenactment years, so beautiful. We used to do historical dance as well in our group! I still have tons of medieval music on my hard drive. This music will never get old! ;-)
As we say in mediæval parlance: You're darn tootin' straight.
come on mate upload something on youtube i am starving
When people listen to this melody with an open mind ,
what they see before their eyes is an expansive and freely transforming scene
My sweetmeats bringeth all the knaves to the yarde,
And lo, sayeth they, the savor is sweeter than thine
Thanne what diden þe knaues at þe yarde? And what was þys sweete lycour þey hadde ydrunke?
Is it OE?
Starting off "right" - with my favourite salterello! Right there I knew I hit the jackpot.
Verily my foote tappeth yon grounde in merriment of spiryte (alas, many bugges did also run therefrom and dansinge up mine leg... a pox on the varlets who did not this eve cleanse the strewn rushes!).
🤔🤘
@@chopin65 Cheers, David ;-p
How enjoyable is the occitan music, no wornder why all newly formed monarcgies wanted the cathalans and occitans to be around, look the quality of the music, the arts, the language, the creators of europe, the OCCITANS
This is really enjoyable.
Good morning from Portugal! Thank you very much! Muito obrigado!
Exquisite!! This is the most beautiful music!!! I really love Trance and Dance music of the present day as well and it's so special to be immersed in the fantastic Dance Music of times gone by...... Thank you so much for letting me share with you all!!❤❤
What a nice comment. I agree!
@@MackerelCat Thank you so much!! Please may I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!💃🎄🕺
I'm making my Latin homeworks while listening to this album, immersion intensified.
Wonderful work, beautiful orchestra, definitely love.
It is the ideal music, which that tow can hearken unto ,while reading poetry and literature of the middle ages. It confutes the opinion of the Enlightenment, according to which the middle ages were the dark ages ,whereas I dare to define them as the most bright ages, albeit I am aware of risking to be looked upon as somewhat romantic.
@@giovannialbanese2863 I can't agree more
@@giovannialbanese2863 Ah Giovanni, I totally agree. Most bright indeed...a light that shone in the darkness of a world greatly beset, even as today. And today the light of this music still shines and always will.
Non dimentica' che il romanticismo è una buona cosa ;-)
@@giovannialbanese2863 I'm with you, Kid. The "dark ages" and the late antique period which proceeded were never as dark as our teachers "told" us. As I look outside this morning I see sunshine and, of course, hope, but there are clouds of darkness, Covid, the "paper" people assume is real money, the half a dozen "wars" around the world that are as vicious as any Medieval joust . . .
I am sure you wrote it in vulgar latin, you naughty...😉👍
"Saltarello" know how to warm and start properly a medieval party!
I was at this one, phat rave
I feel like lived in the 15th century ...hahahahaha...
Love this music, and love you, too, for posting this!
GlenVelez's percussion is stunning, gorgeous. I just about wore out this CD 20+ years ago or so when I bought it.
Hermosisima música 💘⛪🏰💘⛪🏰💘⛪🏰
I,m thinking about my lost life and l have tears on my eyes .
Welches verlorene Leben?
humans need to go back to using these instruments in music they sound insanely cool I think
Thank you so much for posting! I used to have this CD, but who knows what happened to it!?! 12:58!!!! Saltarello IV!!!! Yes! This is just what I needed today to nourish my soul.
Same for me!
Me too!! I bought this CD sometime in the late 90's, I think. Maybe early 00's.
Do you Know what it was called ?!
Every Age Swings!!
Bravo! An excellent music. I enjoy .Thanks
The best way to teach history probably, is music, art pieces representing the contemporary scenarios...and descriptions of the historical piece.
👍👍👍😊🇨🇱
Merci pour cette belle sélection !

This is a piece of amazing and lovely music. I was not aware of it but I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for sharing. I liked the video and subscribed to the channel.
The istampita "Cominciamento di gioia"- "the Beginning of Delight , of Gladness"for those which that woot not Italian - is a classical piece of medieval music. On a long playing of Archiv, which that I am possessed of,
I remember that exactly this piece was recorded.
Mi piace moltissimo il Cominciamento di gioia. Diciamo in inglese, "food for the soul" (-:
p.s. Penso di avere lo stesso CD ... ma l'ho perso )-,;
excelente, adorei.
Lindas melodias
Eeehhh , que música
Gracias , muchas gracias

When the tax collector dies of plague.
1000 years of something else!... we can only have a glimpse of, nowdays... through music, remaining buildings (churches, abbayes, cathedrales, bridges, villages, towns, castles, land structuring, river dams,...)...plague is like one of the wars that took place. In between them it was peace, exchanges, discoveries, joy and happiness in an organic and natural...european paradise. Trading with Asia, and with Africa.
12th century is the best time of this planet with humans as leaders. The wise Tonbuctu in Africa, TaiChi in China, Mens/amour courtois in Europe, South and North american indians...tribes and happy people everywhere, minding their own business, and trading.
if meeting each others.
Simply lovely...thank you.
Wonderful!
excelent interpretation!

I think the first tune is Saltarello Trotto.

Whats the bagpipe instrument called?
I should not be too surprised to learn that they are some form of smallpipe. Wayne Hankin, the piper for the above album, has a video here on the typology of premodern pipes: czcams.com/video/vKAZkS4gw1w/video.html&feature=emb_title
