      You will be broke. The rents are far too high, they have doubled in the last few years and you will have to work three full weeks with the seasonal jobs available just to pay your rent. That’s if you get a job. Immigration has swallowed up the majority of the jobs and even islanders can’t find work.

      @@QuestCanada I’m a developer and a property manager. All new units that we are building are $1000 for a bachelor apartment, $1200 for 1 bedroom, $1400-$1500 for a 2 bedroom and so on.
      We here on PEI have never had a homeless problem until we brought in more immigrants than we have housing. All the older apartments that are under $1000 are being vacated and renovated in order to collect the higher rents. There are some lower priced rentals that are still under rent control, but nobody is moving out of those rentals. Be well.

    Well, this has changed. The PEI government has changed the PR process. We no longer want so called “students” coming from countries that do not intend to stay here or those who don’t respect our values. Not only that, due to the immigration program in PEI, we have been flooded with low level immigrant workers that are taking the limited jobs from actual islanders. Immigration has also caused a major housing shortage that has literally doubled the rental fees. The cost of living has become very high and most of the jobs available will not cover the expenses associated with being able to afford housing.

    • @byronarsenault
      @byronarsenault Před měsícem

      Wow must really be just a islander problem cause rent on the west coast is dirt cheap compared to here its only $3000 for a rental and pay is in comparison
      And there is no trudeau town out west

    • @maxxwellbeing9449
      @maxxwellbeing9449 Před měsícem

      @@byronarsenault Yup, the results are in, it is you that is deluded. You’re comparing PEI to a western province. Jobs and income level don’t even come close in comparison.
      There’s no Trudeau towns in PEI that I know of here on PEI. Trudeau is a woke, globalist, Marxist fool who is selling out all of Canada. His government is responsible for the high inflation rates, the carbon tax is just another slap in the face, and he’s flooding the country with too many immigrants with not enough housing to facilitate them which has doubled the price of a home and doubled the price of rents to the point that a single islander has to work three weeks to pay the rent. Trudeau has done a great job towards making all Canadians poor, cold and hungry. Feck Trudeau.

      Cash jobs? Oh that’s funny. If you’re an immigrant, and if you want to get deported, sure, find a cash job. That’s illegal. Don’t expect an islander to keep it a secret for you. You’ll be reported the second the wrong person finds out.

      @@maxxwellbeing9449 its not necessarily immigration that caused the houcing cost to hike, economic stimulus during the covid season played a role, low interest rates played a role, the country's very strict regulations to build new houses layed a role. Population growth actually increases economic activities, velocity of money and creation of money.

      @@QuestCanada Correct, there are many other factors..but…TRUDEAU and his policies are the main problem from beginning to end. We are not vetting people, we’re getting people who don’t share our values who are using the PNP to make fake businesses that helps nobody. Look at UPEI, we have protesters trying to bully the government for rights that they never had in the first place. Bottom line, we have too many people coming with not enough housing…supply and demand drives pricing no matter what the industry.Be well.
