Perhaps in the interior of a well-preserved medieval building,, like a cathedral. Though I imagine such relics would be quite expensive to obtain.

Is 1000 year old oak an oak tree that was cut down 1000 years ago, or a 1000 year old tree cut down recently?

Why not press with horizontal grain instead of vertical?

Wow didn’t know they had such good saws 1000 years ago, this isn’t bullshit is it?

    • @diliscollective9743

it literally just requires a regular saw.... cutting by hand doesnt mean you cant get perfectly straight cuts

The problem was at woods all of them not worked in their total capacity. Firstly we have to know woods. Oak is type of hardwood and theirs cell walls are thick so a little bit better than softwoods but not usable for construction due to their weight. Whatever, oak for testing okey but 1 days log has sap water, initial water so means free water in cells from cavities or plot inside cells space and cell walls imbeeded water. Water amount really affect the strength of wood and for a years and years after, thats why wood better! But if you put for 48H in furnace at 105 degree, woods become oven-dried and kilned from any decays and rots also increases strength way more better!
