    Interesting, and fair debunking imho
What always amazes me is why anyone looks for these "get rich quick" videos in NMS
The game is pretty relaxed and fairly easy to earn either of the main 2 currencies, and im not talking about duping or any kind of "cheating" methods
My problem is, and always has been, what on earth shall i spend all these Units and Nanites on?
To be fair, i guess it can feel harder at first, those first few days and weeks
Its hard for me to remember exactly, i have an embarrassing amount of hours played, and its been a long time since i was "new"
None of this stops me watching such videos though, whether its Glitches or something more like this, i find it all fascinating
    I just dont do it
Im more inclined to set myself tougher rules and prohibit myself from methods i feel are too easy
But each to their own, and love to all

Exactly, which is why I really felt compelled to say something. I do find it interesting tho, that at least a few in the comments find this automated, but as you said, to each their own, there isn't really a wrong way to play. As for duping, I do it during expeditions, if I need early, but thats about it, I have farms for everything, so really no need, but it doesn't bother me if others do. I just found the video title sketchy at best, and wanted to give it a hard look.

Honestly, I would just love to see it retitled. It is terribly misleading, and only believable to newer players that are going to get this recommended because of the views, which I still find suspect. Thank you for seeing the actual game science.

It is possible to setup a semi automated nanite farm with just a gold and silver mining facility.
Gold and silver combine into platinum.
Then gold silver and platinum combine into nanites.
The final processing ratios are pretty poor though.

If you are using the method in the original video, I invite you to leave the planet, come back an hour later, and see how automated it is. It is a AFK farm sure, but not automated.
      automated
      adjective
      uk /ˈɔː.tə.meɪ.tɪd/ us /ˈɑː.t̬ə.meɪ.t̬ɪd/
carried out by machines or computers without needing human control:
      a fully automated system
Most lighthouses are now fully automated.
this is the Cambridge Dictionary definition of automated, and this farm does not fall under that. Automated is like the miners, they work even when offline. I am sorry that you fell for clickbait in the original, but at best it is a AFK farm.

This kind of stuff happens all the time. People search for a subject and CZcams gives them a video. Plenty of tiny channels get massive views in a particular post because it just happens to be the popular subject. I’m not sure comparing free automation of a valuable resource to generic news really helps. The vast majority of players don’t read or care about small news updates about bug fixes that they probably never encounter, but everyone wants to know how to better use their time in game.
As for whether it’s clickbait? I mean this is all semantics isn’t it? Automated vs AFK? It really depends on your personal definition of automated. Personally, if I don’t have to manually interact, I consider it automated. Now is it convenient automation? No; it forces me to stay in the area. But it’s still absolutely automated. It’s just not great automation.

    • @J3ST3RIRL
      @J3ST3RIRL  Před měsícem +1

there is no way anyone is as lucky as 50k plus views in an 8 day period over multiple videos, 1 topic sure, but not most of the other ones on subjects not many are searching, staff multitool, sentinel ship, etc.
With the actual automated miners in the game being automated, it is hard for me to call this remotely automated. You have to load the feeders, stay at the base or it wont work, then manually collect, then manually consume 1 by 1. which I see as a ton of actual interaction, but everyone is entitled to an opinion, and we can agree to disagree. I do hope we agree tho, that if you are trying to maximize time in game, this isn't the way to go about nanites, tons of other ways that are faster.. Pirate systems, runaway mould, heck, platinum might even yield more per hour.

@@J3ST3RIRL I mean, Occam’s Razor: small channel gains a lot of traction because they posted a video on a hot topic in a game that just had a major update and influx of new players looking for info, and who aren’t already familiar with the reliable sources for said game? Or some random 700 sub dude is what? Paying for automated views? I’m not sure what other implication you’re leading this conversation towards.
As for automation, yeah it’s all personal preference. You say his method isn’t automated because you have to fill feeders and consume wires. Back when I played a ton of modded Minecraft, I’d have called your method not automated because you have to actually interact with the game at some point. I think a large number of people see automation the way I do, which is why the video took off. Likely viewed by many looking for that exact content, and then recommending it to friends (which is how this happens).
I just can’t honestly say this is anything other than how CZcams works. Like I said, it happens. I’ve seen instances of completely unknown channels getting 1m views in less than 48 hours. It’s just the way the platform works. It’s not some perfect, fair system that divides out the views based on effort and quality. Sometimes you just post the right video at the right time. I should know, I watched the video in question when it still had under 1k views. I said “ehh that’s not really for me.” But I sent it to a friend who I thought might find it useful.

@@cytofusion6072 in a vacuum, on 1 video yes, but I would encourage you to go look at the views for yourself. Anyone can hit the YT lottery any time, on any video, but like multiple thousands of views, on like 7 of 11 is not normal, not for the sub count, that is how YT works for a small channel. I won't accuse anyone, but I personally feel like this is doctored in some way. No amount of SEO will pull this many views this quick. As I said before, this could always be YT itself pushing content for whatever reason, but that seems unlikely since this channel has been around since 2017, And just in the last few months has seen these massive hits on seemingly not hot topics in a few different games. Did I mention the playlist is only now 10 days old?, and was pulling these views prior on topics no one has a reason to search, or at least not in this big of numbers.
As I said beforre, we can totally agree to disagree, what constitutes "automated", but i hope we can agree this either way should be called AFK, you have to be there for it to work, and not off doing something else, and that is why I call this clickbait. Using a specific buzzword knowing people will look, and offering a substandard way of getting nanites. Many better ways in game to do it, and no one trying to call it automated, wether his is or not. I just feel like it is a bad practice to follow, but again, everyone is entitled to thier own opinion.
TY for making a honest reply without being confrontational, I feel like way more gets discussed when everyone is level headed, and I really appreciate it.

@@J3ST3RIRL I think the lottery analogy is accurate, but it is a little different with CZcams. Because once you win the CZcams lottery (a video pops off massively) you are significantly more likely to continue getting abnormally high views because viewers tend to prefer to go back to sources they’ve used before. Yeah it’s super unlikely for this series of events to occur, maybe 1/100,000,000. But the mega million is 1/300,000,000, but people still win it, and no one looks at that and goes “wow it’s really suspect that someone won this 1/300,000,000 game.” Because people understand that the lottery is unfathomably unlike to win, and yet people still win it.
As for clickbait, I cannot agree with this label. The term clickbait implies a degree of dishonesty. Clickbait implies that the creator knows that they are misleading the viewer as to the true content of the video. And that just doesn’t work here, because myself and I’m sure many others would absolutely describe what is shown in the video as “automated” (albeit not great automation) at least by NMS standards, where very little is automated. And if I myself would call it “automated”, then how exactly am I supposed to conclude that the creator didn’t also? Thats just a bridge too far for me.

@@cytofusion6072 Ya, we are gonna have to agree to disagree, I have experienced a spike like this before, and it did nothing going forward, so it's very hard to believe this has happened this many times in a row, and before the video in question was even released, with the playlist being 8 days old at the time on a channel that has never covered NMS before. I truly believe tho that your take is valid, but I can't back away from my take either. I would totally accept renaming this AFK tho, then there is no issue at all for anyone looking for this type of content.

Some of these Gen-Z think they are smart, and clickbait you, waste your time, and then sit there and have a giggle. At the end, it will hit them hard, as people will realize that his channel last as long as candy in front of an elementary school...

I actually originally thought this might be some new META, and justified the views, but as soon as I saw feeders, I already knew. I have a specific animal farm for fun with cooking, and it does not work unless you are there. This is terribly obvious clickbait, and should be called as much.
