The Matter Beam was a massive game changer for me. Having access to your entire storage no matter where you are in the universe saves so much time.
well to have access to entire storage you need to be able to summon it. Unless freighter can travel to those stars(red, green, blue) you won't be able to summon it to said star and access the storage containers, only the Freighter inventory itself would be accessible.
Still, I agree that it's a huge thing and probably the best freighter upgrade!
Yup I’m really looking forward for this… what the easiest way to get salvaged frigate data to unlock it? I’m still relatively early in the game (40h)
@@M4NDOL4NDO I just went to a pirate controlled system and attacked freighters for them.
@@M4NDOL4NDO save your time and just duplicate them.
@@MatW89 how exactly?
The scanner room is my favorite technology in freighters. No more planets stuck behind planets not allowing you to scan them. No more having to get in and out and in and out of your freighter searching for paradise planets to find none. Brilliant addition! Exocraft one is really good too. Maybe a video on exocrafts and the best uses for them? I've been using the scanner to find drop pods... No nav data needed
Yes definitely, I’ve been thinking of making a exocraft video but wasn’t sure what the theme would be. Thanks for the idea!
@@Colmatt I would love a exo craft video. I only now got into no man's sky and trying to find up to date information on them and what they can do is a little tricky
@@Colmatt Re: Exocraft. The exocraft module on the freighter is actually very redundant. You can pick up the exocraft summoning station and carry it around in your backpack. You need your minotaur or the nautilon or pilgrim? Just open build menu and place it, bang access to all exocraft, call one, and pick the station back up. You don't even need to place a base computer, it's portable tech.
@@EnigmaTimGaming I'm pretty sure it only works if you have a Geobay in the system for a type of exocraft, haven't bothered seeing if that's changed though, because having a freighter I haven't had to worry about it.
@@herebejamz You do not need a geobay for it, just the summoning station!
@11:30 Um.... the Storage Container Rooms for your freighter are _linked to the ones in your base!_ Accessing Container #0 on your base and Container #0 on your freighter _is the same thing._ Oh, and there's 10 of them, not nine: it starts from 0 and goes up to 9 for a total of 10. Useful for people struggling to get the frigate modules to buy the Matter Beam, you can instead dump stuff on a base or the freighter, whichever you happen to be in, at the time.
EDIT: Also, I didn't know this at first, but... you can summon your freighter while standing on a planet, it warps into low orbit, as close to the planet as possible. It sure beats getting in your ship and flying out to space and getting the dreaded "planetary interference" message and trying to find somewhere you CAN summon it and/or "aw crap I wanted to bring my freighter and I forgot to summon it, and I already landed" scenario.
I always thought it was a glitch, but I’m glad it’s a feature, it’s some Star Wars level stuff to see a star destroyer looking freighter get low orbit
All the hoods and capes makes everyone look like a destiny hunter haha.
11:28 you should note that all of those storage containers are the same ones you place in bases and have a shared inventory. If you put something in container 0 on a base you can retrieve it from container 0 on the freighter and visa versa. This actually makes the containers on bases more useful because you can have those as farms and do your crafting on the freighter since in the build able area of your freighter you are considered to have everything stored in the freighter (either as cargo or in the containers) as in your inventory.
The stellar exctractor resources are dependent on the star colour. Yellow is Chromatic metal, the other gases are from the Red, green and Blue star systems.
Fun and very useful fact:
If you already made a freighter base and hate the default orange, you can highlight ONE room, change its color, and then just run around pressing the “select” button (or whatever it is on keyboard that normally lets you view your inventory) and it will change the color without you needing to keep editing options for every single thing.
There are more color options if you first build an older part that has the older color palettes, pick the color, then build a new freighter room and it will be that color that it otherwise won’t offer up.
@@giantfactory That part is damn stupid. Like, sure new building parts, may even excuse "removing" the old ones, but why the hell would you completely change color palettes while at it?
You forgot to mention the food storage on the nutrition processor. This is super handy as extra storage space!
So incredibly helpful. I had too much food and having it all in one place is so nice
Not as convenient as just storing it in a container, which you can access from almost anywhere(anywhere if you have enough upgrades), whereas to access the food you mentioned you need to physically approach to the nutrient processor.
The Freighter storage is attached to the base. ie.. what is in the storage in freighter is also available in storage at your base. and it is very worth it to have access to all your items either at your base or freighter or where ever you place the storage it will always be attached. Great video.
When you visit another player's base, the storage will also show your inventory. I'm not much of a farmer ATM, yet I always try to leave barrel and crate fabricators because the materials are better than the junk you get at settlements and you don't even need an Atlas pass
For expeditions make sure you have enough cargo room on the freighter to collect anything returned (lesson learnt the hard way). The matter beam is useful but don't accidentally max your cargo out.
I wish the exocraft room would allow you to access Their inventories
Its called the scanner room and its very helpful because you don't need to get out of your freighter and scan them one by one
If you are looking for paradise planet or dissonant pirate controlled galaxy this is very useful
I just got my first S Class Freighter so this video was very helpful.
Thanks!
I use several double cultivator rooms to grow Nip Nip Buds which are a great regular quick money maker. I use the trade room as wll which is convenient since a cargo scan when carrying such contraband WILL land you into a non stop sentinel ship battle which delays getting where you were going when you leave the ship. Those two are indispensible for me.
I have found that the fleet command rooms are also very profitable. I have one for each of the six available missions and since all my frigates are now "S" class, they bring in about 1.5 - 3 million units per trip. I have no way to verify how much the add-ons like fuel oxidiser, mineral analyzer etc. do for the mission, but I always use the ones appropriate to the mission and I get great returns on my missions, including specific materials like IRIDESITE for making "Stasis Devices". It saves a lot of ecrafting effort in the long run.
My fourth most important room is the teleporter for again skipping flying from a planet to a station through systems with "high sentinel" activity. I have about 12 bases that are farms for Frost Wort, Gamma Root, Cactus Flesh, and Solanium as well as the gases that are produced by those biomes, but I also have more contraband "Nip Nip Buds" at those so good to not have to fly in those systems all the time.
It won't grow nothing for me how did u do it it just shows infinite growing sighn
@@skinny4139 with not much info about your case, I figure you didn't already have NipNip Buds to plant in the rooms. You have to have either gone through the entire agricultural storyline or purchased them to plant. You probably need to purchase the ability aboard the Nexus.
@@RollinShultz I figured it out it only grows downstairs I had it upstairs I finished everything I have all the plants thank you for replying though
@@skinny4139 post an update later if you think it was a good idea or it didn't work out for you. I haven't played for months now because work.
@@RollinShultz it seems to be working fine everything is growing I harvested a full batch 2 times so as long as it's at the bottom of fraighter it works
Very informative and well thought out video man.
I’ve been playing for about 2 weeks now and while I have a pretty decent handle on most things, videos like this are super nice to fill in some gaps.
Looks like you’ll be hitting 1k soon!!!
for exocraft you can just keep an exocraft calling platform and place it down whenever you want, this way in any system, you are able to call in any of your exocrafts
it's kinda dumb that the freighter doen't let you call from anywhere since it costs more to build the frighter exocraft platform
Dunno was it in the game or not 5 month ago, but today I can summon my exo-crafts to any system and planet without freighter at all. For now I parked my freighter in a pirate-controlled system and rarely ever do anything with it beside using it as convenient UI for my storage containers.
To summon exo-crafts I just carry around a buildable platform which summons them.
I clicked on the video thinking "pfff I'm not a noob I know all of this"... Well I learn a fucking lot today lmao
OMG 😮 I didn't realise you could set the purchases vor free. Been playing for 60 hours now. I was having a really hard time getting the fregate modules for my freighter. Only found 1. Thanks a million for that small detail in the video.
Thanks for the freighter rundown! I haven't played since the update and all this new tech was, well... New! And a bit daunting! Was an easy subscribe. :D
I have almost every room mentioned in this video unlocked but thanks for sharing the best ones to get in the game. Have an S-class day! 🌌 🚀
My freighter base already had double cultivation chambers so I could build a lot of them without having to research it. Now I'm just cultivating a lot of gek nip and sell it in the trading room or to some guys landing in my freighter... The sentinels won't bother me and I have a stable and passive income 😂
Containers link. If you build container 1 at your base it links to container 1 anywhere you build it. Access you container inventory anywhere you build them.
I like how detailed you are in the video. Very helpful for new players. 👌
I try to make them like videos I would want to watch myself. Thanks for Watching!
Loving your videos and how you break things down. You sir have earned a sub.
ah your videos are so useful for me as someone who is new to NMS. Thank you so much! very well structured
Nice tutorial, enjoyed it. I especially like the choice of background music, my favorite startup song.
Same here, I cycle through a few but that song is in a lot of my tutorials. Also Thanks for Watching!
As far as I know. This update you're showing or at least the update with the rooms you're showing (endurance) also included the ability to teleport to your freighter. So it's a two way teleporter as opposed to before endurance
Very clean and quick. None I've watched mentioned these facts.
Thanks for Watching!
Loved the video! Definitely make another video discussing useful tech on ground bases!!
Will do! Thanks for Watching!
Great info. Im not into base building so i pretty much make my cap ship my home base very handy to have this info
Very nice video. Been playing for a while, however, I learned a couple of things :)
Thanks for a good video! I learned a lot.
The problem with stellar extractors is that not only is it slow bit if you jump it loses it's inventory
Very informative vid. Thank you 😊
The Stellar Extraction Room is actually quite nice. Chromatic Metal, if you ever wanted to fix a ship, is used by the hundreds, and assuming the room works while logged out (most stuff like this does), you can log out of the game, and log in 12h later and find almost 200 chromatic metal sitting in the thing for free. That's 200 less you have to get by refining metals, etc. It's just more free materials, why wouldn't you? 15/h sounds "meh" until you realize that logging off for 12, 16 hours at a time it really adds up over time.
Yep, it maxes out its hopper in just under 24 hours. 350 chromatic metal a day completely passively isn't bad. My first freighter came with it already installed.
@@TiaKatt that’s lucky
I don't know aobut it adding up when logged off, but I do know if you get out of your freighter AT ALL (Or even just go to the starship area of the freighter), the inventory reset which make it mostly useless when you're playing :/
@@TrueXiarno Sounds like a bug or unintended thing, and not an actual feature. As such it will likely get fixed.
@@Dhalin Yeah that's what I also think.
I guess we'll see when it get fixed :/
Storage lockers to your freighters actually rather nice cuz of your freighters and range you can look through all of them
Great video, thanks
Great vid bud !
Doing the main quest line that has the construction specialist will unlock all the other work stations for free
Adrift Expedition 13 is now running. Visiting another player's base farm to collect items always beats having to farm it yourself. While you can't access their storage, all plants and extraction containers are wide open so don't forget that every base you build could help another Traveler 😇
Great info for freighter newbies like me.
Used to be if you built storage at your base, and then build one on your freighter, it would reflect the items in the other storage from either end, so you could access your base items from freighter or freighter items from your base. Not sure if it is the same still.
That is still correct, i just always find myself calling in my freighter anyways so I never build the storage containers at the base.
It is still the same. The video really didn't make that part clear.
Freighter warping is so much better because I can use the scanner room to instantly see the weather of every planet instead of having to go down to the surface and get out.
Being able to see whether or not a non-paradise lush biome planet has storms or not from my freighter is SO nice
I agree, it’s definitely one of the best additions to the game.
Also, if you max out your Freighter warp capabilities, you can get near 6000 Light Year (LY) jumps.
I really like your character's overalls look. :3
Underrated channel
Thanks for watching!
I've seen that 'Recon' frigate in someone else's video but I've never seen any in the game, was that some expedition reward?
Btw, why would you send out only one ship that just matches the mission difficulty, won't it get damaged inevitably?
I miss when we could have an anti matter reactor onboard our freighters.
Good stuff.
How about a video on weapon combos? Sounds fun.
I can definitely make one soon!
There are so many if these videos, but loads less on questions new players might have. Such as , why can only one of my ships appear in my freighter. Or How can I move my Mechs to my Freighter. Or how can I change the colour interior of my Capital Ship.
(XboxSX)
Good video
well done.
Would have been nice if you actually told people how to unlock these blueprints without custom mode.
How did you make the large open area? I cant figure out how to remove the large pillars.
This is such a good video and represents what all NMS content should be like. I'm so sick og cringey 2013 youtuber gamers who feel the need to yell and fake reactions throughout their stretched 10 minute videos. This is short, succinct, informative and doesn't make me want to blow my brains out. Thank you for a great video
How do you get your teleport and galactic trade terminal as an open concept? Mine always has doorways
Now that they have upgraded freighter bases so much I got rid of all my ground bases (except one where I have exocraft bays) and my mines
You need 5 stars in expedition to get maximum rewards and a chance to get s teir gear technology helps alot aswell
How do you get that recon ship? I have never seen it before 3:08
Where do you find salvage freighter modules?
If I've just started and have not intercepted a space fight where I'm offered my first free freighter, what do you recommend I do in order to get the best freighter? I've read some things, but IDK if that information is outdated or not. Do different freighters have different limits to the number of modules you can build your space base with?
Go to a pirate system for sure when you are ready to get one because they have a higher chance or s class. And for the second part I don’t think there is any limitation, every freighter should be equal aside from the appearance
You got the SSV Normandy SR1! All the years I thought it was completely destroyed. Is Pressly on-board?
I don't know why but I can summon my exocraft on the planet without having the tech on the freighter. I just recall the freighter and then i can spawn an exocraft, strange bug
P.S: storage containers are shared between freighter and base
So whatever happened to the old freighter room/halls/etc? I can't find them anywhere ....
How did you make the big open room? I end up with tiny sectioned off rooms or pillars everywhere
It's only when you build all the frigate modules on each page close together. They're all color coded to make it easier
"Hello everyone, this is YOUR daily dose of internet"
I think I'll go ahead and use them all. 😂
Didn’t bother building the scanner room but that seems very helpful! Thanks!
As if the thumbnail is like "Uh whats this *THE FUCKING APPEARING CHANGER THAT EVERYONE USED* "
As here are the pros, I have question: Is it possible to Transfer the rooms to a New freighter? Or should I start building them when I found my "final" freighter?
You would have to delete them all before buying a new Freighter so don't go too crazy with the decorations if you're planning to upgrade
You can warp TO your ship? How? I must have missed that somehow.
It is a pain having all the internal bulkheads around each room, make it confining and claustrophobic. I notice when you put down your teleporter it was not in a room, how did you manage that please?
@Mac Plays Thanks! That works nicely.
How did he manage to remove it
Sometimes you can delete them using the build menu
exocraft room seems not to work i can only call in mech if i build a mech thing on planet thats it
Do you have the matter beam yet?
The Galactic Trade Room isn't working in my Freighter
Did they remove the Normandy in 4.0? I can’t find it anymore in the claim list 😢
I don't know but I liked your comment so hopefully someone can answer for you. Apparently if you really want it you can easily enable it using a save editor both on PC and Xbox. Might be worth reaching out to hello games support to I'm sure they could help you
Playstation user here, I've still got mine.
Perhaps you have to reclaim it at the quicksilver merchant.
@@Kleynkram I have it on my pre 4.0 saves, but on my 4.0 new save all expedition rewards are locked for me and the Normandy isn’t even on the list.
@@Devilgator123Scroll through the menus at the Quicksilver station and find the specific one with the items you're looking for (Cosmetics, decorations, Expedition xyz rewards). The section marked "All Rewards" won't show previously unlocked items from other saves unless you have enough Quicksilver in your inventory for that tier
1:25 have *gone ahead
Do freighters have to have enough fuel on board in order for you to summon it to your system?
No. Freighters only carry fuel for frigates. But it is possible to warp beyond the range of your Freighters' hyperdrive
You always have to summon your Freighter every time you warp to avoid leaving it behind
Might be useful to mention that this is No Man’s Sky in the title or thumbnail.
Good catch, Ill update it. Thanks for Watching!
@@Colmatt : Looking good! Now even new players will know.
HOW DO YOU HAVE THE ACTUAL NORMANDY SR1 MODEL??
it was an expedition reward, I don't think you can get it anymore
Expedition 1. It's an exploration class
Wait - how did you get the Normandy?!?
It was an old expedition reward I had claimed mine before the newest update. I've heard that people who didn't do so are having a hard time.
fantastic video, helpful and precise
Just speak slower plz for all non imperial speakers
Thanks for Watching! And ill definitely slow down, I’m bad about talking fast sometimes.
You look like a hunter
Donating lots of bulkheads and salvaged frigate modules seek my friend's name Korvus
While I do like the fact you can get the trade terminal room now as it's annoying using the older version (idk, I think the older model was ugly), I don't like the fact that it glitched and won't let me use it. Glad it works for you tho for this showcase of the tech.
Just get all the technology 🙄🙄🙄
Unfortunately the game is unplayable in it's current bug-riddled state. Hope they fix it soon!
After all that you haven't explained how to convert salvaged freighter module to useful technology. Have six of those so far but seems useless without the research station to convert it. Where is the research station and how do I build it? Apparently no one has covered this subject which is weird because I would think it's important. Kinda like being Woke, Unhinged, and Triggered, All Bad states of being. Not as bad as being ignorant but still bad. Peace.
you're great but stop saying 'go ahead'
I love how much you lie. its cute
They just made the easiest space game easier.....
Custom difficulty option is like a full cheat menu ✌
10 minutes in and he says "i'm not used to this new update yet" but he's making a info video about it.
i seriously hate this competative "i have to be first" shit on youtube and people making video's they have no buisness making.
luckely this guy actually did the research and everything he said is correct. so i didn't even notice it untill he said that.
but this needs to stop.
stop the data mining. and stop letting others tell you what the mechanics are. YOU the youtuber (all of you) need to do the research yourself.
or atleast fact check every single "mechanic" that is explained.
if you feel the need to say that you are not used to yet. or are new to an update. than that means that that is an excuse for incase you say something that is incorrect.
wich means no fact checking was done. no testing was done.
it's all just from reading patch notes. or from data mining.
wich doesn't fully show anyone how grindy something would be. or how usefull. or whatever.
The storage containers are not extra space, they are just duplicates of your containers at your base.
