    Have the same problem on two different RV outlet boxes.. verified proper operation on the 30 and 50 amp outlets with good circuit indicators and good polarity and ground. verified 110 input at 110V Gfci. with meter, still same problem as you show here. Replaced the GFCI. Still the same problem.

      + tried to reset but they acted just as your's did here. reset does nothing but make the red light flash. Also there is no load fed out of the gfci. It terminates at the outlet, but outlet readings are zero

      in your case you may have a short in the circuit, you need to inspect wires visually and if gfci is new install it somewhere else to verify if gfci Is good and not faulty

    I have replaced and old microwave because the gfci would trip and the microwave would not turn on anymore. Bought a new microwave and the gfci is still being tripped. I used the gfci tester and get green light. Is the problem the microwave or the gfci? It was working fine for the past year. Thanks for the vids

      Microwave doesn’t require gfci outlet. If it is sharing circuit with smth else then it could be overload or you have a short in the junction box.(unorganized wires)

    thanks for the quick reply, I'm a 76 yr old viet vet trying to fix the problem, not really sure what you mean by resetting, is that the little button on the gfci, I pushed it very hard but nothing, I do have an Extech circuit breaker finder CB10, but having problems figuring out how to use it so I could identify the exact breaker and then reset it. side note one video I watched said that his gfci since it only had two wires going into it you would hook it to the line side of the gfci and not the load side?? Is that correct as my curent gfci has hooked to the load side?
    I'm really appreciative of ypour help.
    Thanks

      @remoteelectrician  Před 9 měsíci

      yes, wires need to go to the line side . and then u need to test reset the outlet.(that's why load side comes taped if you only have one wire just feeding outlet it goes to line)

      thanks again for your instructions worked like a charm , the little circuit tester shows the 2 yellow lights for correct wiring, whew! now my young wife of 50 and I can get back to business> @@remoteelectrician

    I have found that they last 8-10 years, whether they are used inside, outside or hardly used at all. I just replaced one in a half bath. I live by myself, and I am quite certain that nothing had ever even plugged into the outlet. Any idea why these things burn out?

    • @remoteelectrician
      @remoteelectrician  Před 9 měsíci

      they don't burn often.. (unless it's cheap one off amazon) mechanism gets rusted or dusted and just stops working.. oxidation of copper contacts inside mechanism tends to cause it in bath. I have opened a few. some had spider web etc.. outdoor ones water get in there and it gets rusted and stops working

      did u reset it after installation/?

    • @jesuscacho3314
      @jesuscacho3314 Před 5 měsíci

      It might be a switched gfci if everything is working right. Meaning a SWITCH can make that gfci work. So maybe try to find the switch, turn it on, reset the breaker and see if it turns on

    What if there is no voltage to the outlet?

  • @bfilz

    Will it be the same issue if the GFCI does not have any outlets?

    • @remoteelectrician
      @remoteelectrician  Před 8 měsíci +1

      meaning it has only 1 pair of wire feeding it only? yes. it doesn't matter if it has a load or not

    Does a gfi make a noise when it shorts out.? Like a 5sec buzzz… Can’t reset it after resting the breaker… it’s getting power but just can not reset…

    • @remoteelectrician
      @remoteelectrician  Před 21 dnem

      it could be short in the circuit or time to replace that gfci

    • @FrankieD777
      @FrankieD777 Před 21 dnem

      @@remoteelectrician yeah I changed out the gfi and still not working.. I have a green light going to the new gfi out let but still no juice going to the outlet… I’m thinking it’s a circuit breaker

    how do you easily trace a switch with no outlet

  • @mofobeans

    Mine won't reset. And is blinking constantly. Still works I charge my vacuum all the time. House is 3 years old.

    • @remoteelectrician
      @remoteelectrician  Před měsícem

      wiring needs to be checked if it doesn't reset then it could be wired wrong or time to replace it
