Current Dundee Manager, James McPake joins Si Ferry this week to take a look back on what has been an eventful career for the former centre-half which he has shared with some of the biggest characters and names in the game.
We look into the early days of his career during a tumultuous time for Livingston with ongoing financial and boardroom issues effecting the club’s progress under managers such as Richard Gough and Paul Lambert.
After chatting about his time down south with Coventry and Chris Coleman, James provides great detail and insight into his time at Hibs as captain which saw 2 Scottish Cup finals, including the infamous 5-1 defeat to arch-rivals Hearts, as well as the shock relegation under Terry Butcher.
Then of course we look at his critical time at Dundee which saw him cement himself as a pivotal figure at the club as a key player and eventual 1st team manager.

One of Si ferry’s best interviews. JMcP was entertaining with the stories of his career He was very unlucky with injuries but good luck to him at Dundee managing guys he’s just finished playing with

Gotta say McPake got it well wrong at the start of his interview, saying that his would be the most boring interview as of yet you've done, definitely no, thourghly enjoyed it,thought it was a really good and interesting interview, seems like a top guy 💚🍀👍

I was there when you went from striker to defence. You were immense at the back and everyone initially thought it was mad. But you were incredible. And you were a nice chap. Burton was fabulous as was big marv. I was the rans rep to the board to pearse Flynn. I had to keep him on track in meetings!!! Nice to see you on here James. Gabor was a great midfielder... Creative. But then he stopped working after he was given a deal.

Captained a bad hibs side but he did very well for us I feel. A different manager and another hibs team I think he could have did a lot for hibs. Either way welcome at Easter road

I felt Livi were a far superior team under Gough when they came to Easter Rd Lambert turned them into a really dirty team. I watched SEVEN of them getting booked all taking turns to clatter wee Broony. McPake was a solid big defender for Hibs nice big guy too. I met wee Si at shops Tues morning top bloke!!
