This boss was the one moment I regretted doing all of 9s side quests.
I knew why she was there. I knew what she wanted to do to help 9S. I was about level 87 here and it legit took me an hour cause I was like
"Please don't make me kill her"
It hurt man.
It really hurts man, believe me it still hurts 3 days after I finished the game. we get to experience the complete character arc of 21O, from being a cold professional to a soul longing for love and family, through side quests and communication. we get to know her ourselves as the players and that's why she is probably my favorite character in the game although she is just a sidekick. When A2 was stabbing 21O, I feel I also got fking stabbed.

I think that's when he realized why A2 killed 2B but at that point he couldn't care anymore since he went crazy and could only think about revenge

I was just thinking, Operator 21O actually volunteer to the type B equipment transition. Did she do it to be more like 2B? Whenever her love towards 9S was like a mother/sister or a lover, it makes sense for her to want to appeal more to 9S so that she can gain more of his attention.

I see a lot of people saying it should have been 6O here instead of 21O, but I disagree. Sure 6O wanted to see earth, but as we hear 21O say, she wanted to be closer to 9S. 21O knew 9S was fighting on earth and so she likely wanted to join him, rather than stay at the bunker.
9S and 21O could have become a thing , a beautiful thing

And she got infected by the virus, forced to fight the one she loves, and got stabbed like 5 times by A2....yoko taro tortures these poor souls to create strong emotion feedback from our players which is obviously working...I wish there is an ending F where yoko taro is this lv99 ridiculously hard final boss and if we beat him we get to reset the entire story and everyone can just enjoy their life...

Lmfao me tho, i was like level 63 or so when fighting this boss. When i see so many dead body on the boss fight arena i was like, "wha- wh- how did this even happen?" when i literally defeat them in 10 seconds or so
I did all the sidequests, so it was pretty bad lategame watching 2B burn through all the story battles and miss dialogue or cool boss moves.

Bonus: 6O died in the bunker, in the hall you kill like 3 or 4 groups and one of them says "beautiful flower" or something, so 6O was killed by them too
It started to get me when she said "one affirmation will suffice" took me back to my first or second play through damn. And then started with that family thing I can't.

M1dak well the game is really a JRPG, Hack n Slash game with a lot of perspectives. So yes, it's those games that require higher level thinking of dodging
The whole game has bullet hell gameplay even when fighting hand to hand. They based the game play on jrpgs and bullet hells it's like if final fantasy and any famous bullet hell had a child then that would be NiER: Automata

I remember, I leveled up my character so much before going through the C D and E ending, so this fight took me about 30 seconds to beat
I forgot about hacking so I just spammed the cheesy spear throw with a level 4 usrper
Try maxed 4O spear with max attack up chip. You can cheese her out in 5 throws

props to conner kelly here, really put some emotion into her voice. hate to say it, but usually her delivery is kind of flat. maybe that’s intentional but she really surpassed that with 210 in this scene
Yes, that was completely intentional. YoRHa aren't allowed to be emotional (even though nobody really acts on that restriction) so it makes sense for her to be like this. Besides she contrasts 9S well.

I know I'm 2 years late, but there's a mod called NAIOM that makes kbd/mouse a viable option. Even the superior option IMHO (as long as you have a mouse with additional buttons that can be bound to dash and pod ability).
As legion would put is, A2 is bottom heavy.

I ended it with full crit and max atk up for maxed 4O spear. It ended in 5 throws and 3 of them crit

Damn. I tried to listen to the music only ,but the damn CZcams recommends want me to remember the traumatic ordeal that the Second half of the game was.
Honestly, I think 6O would've been better for this fight because of how much we learn about her wanting to go to the surface. It makes more sense that she's converted into a field model. However, 9S isn't close enough to het for it to be impartial in terms of the characters.
I think 21O works really well here. She is a lot like 2B - a cold and emotionally distant facade that hides a gentle and caring personality. Also, if you do her sidequests you'll get a glimpse at her personality and her desire to just have a family and live a normal life. It also makes this fight even more heart wrenching.
Remember that 6O was the Android that went "BINGO!" when the logic virus hit the bunker. I'm glad her end.

If you do her side content it straight up paints a picture of her growing increasingly interested in the concept of family units and children, correlating in her babying 9S in the events just before the logic virus outbreak to imply her constantly berating 9S and having to keep him on track had caused her to view their dynamic as familial, with him as her son.
It makes total sense for her to change her model type so that she could be out on the field with 9S and protect him.
You're wrong. Operator 210 REALLY fits here.
6O was special for us, but 21O was special for 9s. While hurting 6O would have been horrible for 9s, having to hurt 21O, his own operator is the one who would actually screw him up. I get most people think it would have been sadder with 6O but it wouldn't, this fight is painful because we're watching how 9s have to kill one of the people he liked the most, besides 2b.

K, well this is very sad and all (what with us seeing that 21O isn't completely gone, some of her is still in there, and she just wants a family), imagine how sad it would be if A2 didn't kill 2B? Like if 2B ended up escaping, and the during one of the last boss fight, 2B (the ACTUAL 2B) shows up, and 9S would be forced to kill her.

Actually, I don't think 9S would be able to kill her, and not because of strength, because of emotion. Imagine that was one of the endings. 9S kills A2, only to be killed by a struggling 2B himself.
I manage to convert that centipede thingy with my Spear of Usurper. She couldn't survive the projectiles

9s plays so much nicer with a 100% ranged/vampirism chipset. Get them little 10's on your pod up to 13's and pull half that damage output back as health.

Just came to check i hadnt missed something. Hit a bug on my first run at this fight and knocked her the other side of that wall with the electrified tubes, couldnt get to her then had to restart.

i'd like to play as 21O and 6O and those two pink haired ones. they should be DLC or something neat. just a skin
If you have the PC version then there's a mod that allows to replace 2B with any other model from the game. You can play as the Commander, Devola, Poppola and so on.
It's called "2B player model replacement" and it's on Nexus Mods.

I'm so sad I screwed up the last part of my game.
Before this tower, I went up from level 68 to level 99 in like 20 minutes (it's so freaking easy to level up in this game btw) to unlock the arena costumes.
After that, I pretty much killed everything in one hit, including this boss, so I didn't really enjoy the fight.

There is 210 and 6O, they are twin models. We don't know which operator 2B communicates with, but we know 210 was in love with 9S to the point where she refitted herself into a combat version in order to be able to protect him
