    Also, the chairs in Greece's staging symbolize failed relationships & the song is about a relationship that is dying. Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Although there have been technical problems I believe that many people have got into the habit of criticizing and insulting based on nothing. I frankly do not understand all the hatred that Italy is receiving, this should be an event of joy and celebration but the hostile and fanatical attitude of many is ruining the party for everyone.

Germany said it explicitly: we don't want to organize this thing, too expensive, too stressful. Ultimately what should count is the music, the songs and the pleasure of being together but apparently that's not the case.

    • @castitaslilium2146
      @castitaslilium2146 Před 2 lety +5

      I'm Italian and I read absurd comments, full of gratuitous nastiness and little objectivity: it wasn't a memorable or perfect show but neither was the crap that is portrayed by certain people on the Internet. After the first semi-final, many know-it-all woke up Kubrick or in the body of some famous graphic designer, set designer, architect, choreographer, photographer, host, praising the good old days when everything worked. If they want "Super Bowl 2.0" to go to the USA and stop. The most hallucinating comment of all insulted Laura Pausini for saying "Moldovia" (italian and english lenguage combined, a mistake that can happen): this user claimed that Pausini insulted an entire nation and an entire people with her incompetence. I'm shocked. In any case, Italy is used to receiving free insults and various offenses: we will continue to give a damn and walk forward as we have always done for centuries, and among all the problems we have here it will certainly not be a singing competition to make us worry. "Domani è un altro giorno, e si vedrà" (Tomorrow is another day, and we'll see).

    The stage is absolutely still broken, the sun rings aren't working properly, so the EBU and RAI decided to not have it move for anyone and have it stationary in the background, blocking most of the LED. The Moldova live version is the one they had been performing at the pre-parties, it's more rocky than the official version

    • @iacomary
      @iacomary Před 2 lety +7

      They are not broken, they work but each arc turns around too slowly for them to be used by each country. it was too ambitious of a project, the EBU should've notice it and made a change to it earlier

    • @vanellopeb
      @vanellopeb Před 2 lety +3

      Kinetic sun was never broken in first place, it just moves very slow (like 10 mins to do the full turn if I'm correct?) because that was the original concept, to announce every country in a Sanremo style (calling entries with artist's names instead of the country only) combined with the postcards, basically EBU just needed to address way earlier about the short times instead, then to be fair to every country they've decided to keep the sun still for every performance. It will move tho during interval acts and such.

    • @iacomary
      @iacomary Před 2 lety +4

      @@vanellopeb no its not 10 min. that was a fake news thrown around when the production kept being silent. Turning from lights to led actually takes 40 ish seconds and the postcards arent long enough to cover it. That's why Rai and the italian delegation proposed longer wait between each song, by adding a Sanremo-style intro to each country. but ebu said no just when the rehearsals started giving almost no time to delegations to rearrange the staging

    In my humble view, Chanel is in a category by herself. Her show is the most technically demanding among all contenders, by far. If juries are professional they will value her highly because there is not many artists IN THE WORLD who are able to sing flawlessly while dancing intensely as Chanel does. Will she win? Who knows (artistic quality is not the only factor that counts in Eurovision), but she is just ready to become a world star, no doubt, and very deservingly. Here she is in the USA (I think LA) with Kyle Hanagami in late April, just a couple of weeks ago czcams.com/video/656xMvSezK0/video.html

    With so many people saying that Italy/RAI is not doing a good job producing the show because of its technical issues, I think of it this way: it’s a stratosphere better than the last time they hosted.
    The only surprise to me was actually Iceland but that’s because I didn’t care for the song. But I’m hardly complaining about everyone else. Also, watching Italy and France’s full performances, I don’t see Italy winning it while France should open the Final (unless they decide on Norway or Spain).

    I would say Austria gooped, by not making Pia Maria just feckin sit and focus on singing and have the MV dancers take the focus off her and Lumix. Like girl, know your own limits, song was great, staging was ok, but you aren't yet at level when you can sing and jump through whole song. Also wish Lumix actually sung as well. Dude can sing well and it would probably help her more than the hyping of the crowd.
    Same with Albania, they overdid the staging and camera work was whole mess, they should have just gone with the staging from Nationals. I was also shocked the Netherlands and Switzerland went through, cause those stagings were also kinda mess, but I guess people liked how genuine they were and maybe Jury performances were more solid.
    All the other entries I think perfectly executed their staging and didn't feck up their singing, which is pretty much enough to satisfy both Jury and Televotes.
    I still don't get why Greece went for chair metaphor? And I feel like even if her singing was impressive, I feel like the MV with instrumental through whole song was much better. This probably will cost her good placement in the finale. I am also shocked about Moldova getting in, but the revamp and actually perfectly performed song and choreography definitely made them stand out. And I guess you can't make Europeans not like cheesy slavic folk.
    Overall I'm ok with that result, but to be fair - I only needed the salad song to fail. I did originally put Albania and Austria over Moldova and Switzerland. But you know there is only much that can be done.

    Denmark didn't get through because, how should I put it, they're a bit "behind the curve" on a Nordic scale in pop music so that song doesn't get neighbour votes from Iceland or Norway because it's the kind of song/genre/melodic mix that the rest of the Nordics find a bit cringe right now. (Norway has a term for it; "Harry") They would probably make it if they were together with Sweden instead.
