My Story with Eating Disorders and Overcoming Through Jesus

- Most of you know my story and battle with eating disorders as a young woman, but in case you haven't heard, I will continue to share my story! I share not only bring God glory, but to encourage every person that the redeeming power of God is still present and active for every person today!
No matter where you may find yourself today, or what you are going through, I believe the answer can be found in Jesus! Perhaps as you read my story you can relate to having an unhealthy relationship with your body or food, or you simply want to start eating healthier. If you can relate to either of these, I believe God has an answer for nourishing our bodies!
I’m here looking for some encouragement, I stopped drinking water because I thought it would make me gain weight. I weighed myself 6 times a day sometimes. Stopped going out to eat with friends and family. Stopped sitting down and having a meal with my son. I was eating only candy and protein bars and 12-13 popsicles every night. 🤦♀️ I am a runner now, so I can not keep doing this. The Holy Spirit showed me that I must drink water and eat enough to nourish myself! God does bring beauty from ashes.
I pray for you and hope all is well. May the lord Jesus Christ bless you and heal you. Make you a strong healthy happy runner! God bless! You need the fuel to go the distance. An empty gas tank on a car sits on the side of the road. A full tank keeps on going :)

I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I’ve mainly been overweight but lost 50 lbs in the last few years. After that, I feel like I started to have a lot of unhealthy habits to try & lose the rest of the weight I wanted off. I’ve binged, fasted, been borderline starving myself, weighed myself too often, used working out as a punishment when I eat poorly, used weight loss medication just for it to stop working when I got off & gained the weight back & hated myself when I’ve gained weight. I just want I be free of all of that. I just want truly healthy habits & to stop having the number on the scale or how I look in the mirror to stop defining my worth. I know my worth is in Jesus but it’s doesn’t feel like it 99% of the time.
I have a similar testimony.. but I didn't have Jesus until later in life

So terrible what hurtful words can do to people
All the troubles comes from not knowing identity in CHRIST. Kids need to memorize scriptures of WHO they are in Christ. Because its extremely powerful to choke down negative thoughts with reminding themselves of their true identity in Christ Jesus.
