Scope 3 Emissions: Unpacking Value Chain Emissions Complexity

Private equity firms have developed a clear playbook to reduce their portfolio companies’ scope 1 and 2 emissions, but decarbonising value chains is far more challenging as it rests on actively engaging suppliers and other value chain actors. Baringa has partnered with the Initiative Climat International’s (iCI) Scope 3 Decarbonisation Working Group to deliver a series of educational webinars on Scope 3 emissions. In this session for portfolio companies, we provide an overarching view of Scope 3 emissions with a focus on boundary setting across key sectors. We present 2-3 case studies where we'll bring it to life and discuss the real experience companies had with measuring Scope 3 emissions and its impact on target setting.
