The reality is, the Yankees are never going to win until they’re younger and more athletic. Relying on players at the tail end of their career is an awful strategy. Bad contracts and trading for injury prone players just adds to the mess. Also, Boone is unfortunately NOT the guy. They’re not as bad as the last 3 weeks but they’re also no where near bringing a championship back to the Bronx.
Apparently Joel wants to make sure he doesn't lose his Yankee Stadium press pass by throwing a red herring in the argument.
I thought he was a journalist lol dude sounds like cashmans cousin
Joel’s first 3 min were so dumb my god
Since Babe Ruth ,The yankees have not gone to the World Series since 09.
This has never happened for this long.
Boones teams crack.
2022 everyone said Yanks would snap out of it, but they never did.
Chapman gave up the homer to Devers in the 9th inning and we lost 1 to 0. That was also a Sunday night baseball game hit it left center.
eduardo perez was lapping that shit up lol omg brutal
@@michaelrowland6336 You're right! It's so OBVIOUS that Karl Ravech and Eduardo Perez are rooting for the Red Sox when they play the Yankees on ESPN. You can hear it by the way they broadcast the games. It's not even-handed at all.
Cashman has been trying to patch up holes for long time Soto was a band aid to his problem and the pitching over achieved for the first two months the hole is bursting on Cashman he has made so many bad decisions and dug this franchise in a hole so big they will never get out of it with him running the show, just to give a little perspective here league average hitter has an OPS+ of 100 nobody except Soto and Judge is above 100 Rice is but he has a small sample size to work with, everyone else is just below or way below the league average so if you take out Soto and Judge this lineup is as bad as the Chicago White Sox or Miami Marlins! It’s not a bad stretch, it was a good stretch for a bunch of bad hitters! One last thing DJ LeMahieu has a 4 OPS+ yes a 4!!! He is always finding a spot in this lineup??? When you have nothing better than to put a guy with a 4 OPS+ in your lineup day after day you have serious problems!
What a great analysis. Thank you!
The same captain of the Yankees Titanic hits the iceberg 22 times in 23 years, and we're supposed to be surprised that Brian Cashman has everyone looking for the lifeboats again?!? 🤣
The AL East was always out of reach with the Orioles owning the Yanks, let’s face it. But the Pinstripes will be a tough out as a Wild Card - especially under the new playoff system ⚾️
I don't think you can compare the Dodgers to the Yankees. The Dodgers are basically missing their entire rotation. The Yankees have been pretty healthy through this losing phase aside from Stanton and Schmidt
Why (TF) did Cashman let the Mets have Louis Torrens for nothing but cash??? He's better than either of the catchers we have now on the major league roster.
Further to this point 18:45 in games the NYY win, Judge is batting .381 with an OPS of 1.334. In losses, he's .195 and .748. That's a huge of a split as you're likely to see.
The problem is because have head stuck in analytics, don't bother to look at player himself, things analytics can't measure
Need pitching and need a new manager.
Hey Joel, Cashman is also the guy who STILL hasn't gotten the Yankees a legitimate 3rd baseman for the past TWO YEARS (not 3 weeks)!...Also, Gleyber Torres' bonehead plays over the past FEW YEARS has been WAY WORSE than Grisham's nonchalant play last week...I still say the Yanks will NEVER win a championship until Hal FIRES Boone and Cashman.
Fundamentals. Totally lacking under Boone.
The numbers don’t lie…😂
Good recap.
The Yanks just need few more bats that can hot the ball and generate runs. Also, they need another elite SP and a good closer...
The Yankees and 20 other teams
22:30 Boone has failed to correct his team from Day 1. Zero accountability.
I think it's a bad stretch. But, moves should come sooner than later...
Finally, Joel, with honesty on Volpe play that still has the know it alls off the rails still on it what 4 days later, as if the kid committed murder, mind boggling
2 relievers?…. Here comes David Robertson & Chapman
Bad Management.
This is not a bad stretch, it’s a complete disaster! Bases loaded no one out more than once - no runs. Giving up a 3-1 lead to Boston in the eighth and losing in the ninth. No grit, no killer instinct. Thank goodness for a rookie’s record three home runs in one game or it’s a sweep!
Time for this team to give its youth a chance before they’re gone!
It starts with leadership and coaching and the Yankees don't have it.
Boone is woke . They played good against teams not in their division.
7 th year for Boone . No manager is gone that long with the yankees without a championship
There is nothing of quality in the NY Yankee lineup after Stanton, and he is easy to pitch to. Clay Holmes Stinks against any decent offensive team. Torres is having a horrendous season both offensively and defensively, and should most definitely be traded before the deadline, as the Yankees have no intention of re-signing him. DJ hasn't hit well in three seasons. Rizzo has not hit well since his Traumatic Brain Injury. Grisham should be traded. Jones should be gone, Generally speaking a team is never as good as they look when playing at their best and never quite as bad as when they are playing their poorest. That being said, the Yankees do not have talent other than the top 4 in the lineup. That Verdugo, a career 40 rbi per season guy is batting 4th in the lineup is ridiculous. The Yankees have not had a productive professional bat off the bench in three seasons. The Yankees are the slowest running team in MLB, which accounts the fact that they lead all MLB in hitting into double plays. Everyone knows that Stanton will go on the IL for 6-8 weeks at some point in every season, so having no viable talent to replace him in the lineup is entirely on Cashman. The Yankees are way too top heavy in their line-up with regards to talent and salaries, and Cahsman has tried to fill-in in the remaining roster with oft injured players and guys gotten on the cheap. They do not have a single guy in the bullpen capable of consistently striking opposing hitters out in a key situation, instead they permit guys to make contact and balls put in play can always find a way to beat you. Their relievers also walk way too many. I can not remember a single instance this entire season, when a Yankee reliever entered a game inheriting runners and did not allow a runner to score.
Soon the players will start suing the managers for slander & defamation if they get ripped after a game for making a mistake
This is who the Yankees have been for the last 3-4 seasons. Hot starts followed by massive regression come All-Star Break. Limp into the playoffs and maybe beat the Guardians or Twins before losing in the ALCS. Organization takes a victory lap for winning a pillow fight playoff series. Rinse and Repeat.
A little slump now , is better than a big choke in September.
First thing why are manager Aaron Boone straight away Stanton add straight away Liberty Torres damn it
I think the host needs to understand a bit more what a rhetorical question is..
First time I have hosted a show like this, appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching. I will continue to try and get better 🙏
@@ryansampson9214I'm just messing with ya. My impression overall is that you seemed really frustrated. And you were very anxious to express that; and I think that affected you as a host..
It's a bad stretch right now, we can't let the present blind us from the overall picture. And I think Joel was trying to express that. You do a good job. If you didn't I wouldn't watch.
The Yankees are bad. I see every game. Theres' no energy. I don't see this lineup coming out of this. Are they a .200 team? No, but they can't fix it themselves. I really think that 3rd place is where they eventually stay.
The sign of a pro is consistency in performance. This has gone on far too long.
Seems to me that they were, and are, more concerned with who they don't want on the team anymore than who they are replacing them with. It is management via assignment of blame rather than assumption of responsibility. It is finger-pointing.
Certainly not a bad team..A bad bunch of circumstances..3B,2B,1B and C have been a weakness..Their pitching was hot and now it’s very cold..They need to make a trade for a producing 3B,Gleyber needs to step up and let Ben Rice do his thing..They need a bullpen arm and then the starting pitching has to get back wher it was..Potentially a very good team that isn’t performing to standards, period!
Players dropping like flies has killed the Yanks.
Are the Yankees Bad? They were never any good to begin with. April/May was a complete Mirage. Playing Sisters Of The Poor teams only showed us Bullies in action. As soon as the Yankees faced REAL competition and the Bully got Punched in the Face. The team went crying to mommy Boone. And just maybe it is NOT a smart idea to spend over a Billion dollars on just four player contracts. Two being once every five days players at that (Cole & Rodon). The other two like to be on the I.L. list (Stanton & Judge).
They’re a mediocre team, which has over performed for a good stretch and are now experiencing a market correction.
Aaron Hicks still winning 😂
Play kids need to get Dominguez back in the lineup the place in the field god dammit
They are a bad team. Thank you
No. They were not as good as they looked up to mid-June, and they are not as bad as the last 3 weeks. They are probably a wild card team.
Sherman is high caliber....
Yanks are a bad team on an even "badder" stretch
No problem with duggie chains 😂, lazy, dragged his ass down 1st base line in back to back ABs, selective hustle, gets burned miss judging balls hit at him, hadn't done a damm thing since that one game in Boston, just recently got a couple hits, yet he's in the 4th spot, lol okie dokie, let's put the hits on a 2nd 23 yr old year player, that's pretty rich 😂😂😂
Also trade away clay Holmes he's not a good short reliever god dammit
Baboone didn't want Volpe stealing in front of Soto and Judge. All the so-called experts said that's the right thing to do 😂 including the keyboard warrior expert know it ALLs, waiting for the rest of the Vople hit piece,
The Orioles are better.
Bad Team!
Fans have eyes and a brain to see the team is lazy and lack fundamentals. *that’s on the manager. Joel doesn’t want to loose his access to the clubhouse so he can only say so much.
I need to have my own podcast.
Judge is overrated and a bad leader. His hot streak is being evening out with his slumps.
My question to Joel is the following: what happens if the Yankees go 1 and 5 in tbe next 2 series?
Ryan , in almost 2 years, how many mental errors do you have on Volpe? Volpes hustle? There isn't a guy on this team that gives 110% every single inning of every game,
No problem with Duggie chains the clown, 🤦♂️ unreal
I think the mistakes by Volpe not hustling have compartmentalized for me. Clearly these are mental mistakes more so then anything else for Volpe. I do believe Verdugo is the exact player we all expected him to be when the Yankees acquired him (can be a bit of headache at times, is a solid contact hitter and can hit in multiple spots in the lineup)
Volpe on the other hand was sold as a bill of goods to be one of the best young SS prospects and players by the Yankees farm system. To this point he is a light hitting shortstop that plays great defense. Not sure he will ever live up to the billing we were given by Cashman and company.
@@ryansampson9214 we shall see
@@ryansampson9214 MISTAKES, just how many has there been ?
@@ryansampson9214 I'll pass on commenting on duggie chains lol
I love Joel - he spoke the truth about the Yankees
Fellow Yankees fans... stop panicking. Bad stretches happen.
It’s happened three seasons in a row. You on drugs? Or a new fan?
I'm not suggesting I love this roster, but if you're going to panic, cry, and bitch, then stop watching baseball. You and I -- and these podcasters -- have nothing at all to do with the team, and the team isn't listening to all of this. Enjoy the game. Teams lose. Come back tomorrow.
@@wolfwilliams they lost again today btw lmao
And they'll lose more. Are you holding out for that 70-game win streak?
