    Excellent videos. Just a few pointers.... use different gloves as the gloves you are wearing in parts of your videos drops tiny fibers into the transmission. Also when you put the bolts in the box for newbies try and not mix the bolts togeather as may cause confusion later. You can put some of the bolts with the parts you disassembled. You are an excellant teacher and i enjoyed the videos. Thank you for your time and knowledge.

    The two threaded holes on this pump are of a larger diameter than the corresponding threaded holes in the case. You can use 2 bolts and walk the pump off, just like you would a brake drum.

      @TheBigBruski Před 2 lety +1

      @@daileydriven yeah I blasted it apart and the reverse seal he made a big point about wasn't seated properly. So I was able to get it to work properly after that.
      Absolute best feeling in the world to make it work again!

    great video. could a bad reverse band cause sudden loss of reverse engagement? I can only back my truck about 6 inches in 4low using high rpms on level ground. There is a drop in idle but no "clunk" when I put it in reverse. Everything else acts like it should.

    Quick question, I’m working on a 4r75e and the pump to case has a spring return cage but I noticed that the cage was pretty bent up. I’ve been looking everywhere for one but can’t seem to find it, would you be able to point me in the right direction?

    • @transmissionbench7842
      @transmissionbench7842  Před 9 lety +1

      Hi. The truth is, the transmission will operate just fine without it. It dampens the somewhat faint but detectable sound of the mechanical diode in applications such as the Town Car.

    • @frankramirez8029
      @frankramirez8029 Před 9 lety +1

      +StippLeTV TV If you are a perfectionist like me, you want to put that part in even though transmission bench says it is not completely necessary. My tranny didn't have the part either. But I found it for sale at fordparts.com for $8.32. search for "Auto Trans Intermediate Clutch Anti-Rattle Spring". Also found it on ebay for $18.85. search for "INTERMEDIATE CLUTCH ANTI - RATTLE SPRING".

    • @transmissionbench7842
      @transmissionbench7842  Před 9 lety +1

      It's called a "silencer". It limits a slight little rattle of the the friction and steel plates. If your transmission does not have it, you'll be fine without it.

    • @brutallyhonestmf5578
      @brutallyhonestmf5578 Před 9 lety

      thank you so much. looking forward for the next video on the series! PD I found a broken planetary and sun gear as well as a burned od band in my transmision any idea what can cause this?

    • @transmissionbench7842
      @transmissionbench7842  Před 9 lety +1

      Broken planetary gears are usually caused by a failed thrust bearing . The little needles come out of the cage and end up getting between gear teeth. Not pretty.

    • @brutallyhonestmf5578
      @brutallyhonestmf5578 Před 9 lety +2

      weird cant find any bad thrust bearings, I was thinking that the issue was caused by the tc bcz the reason why I take apart the tranny was a malfunction between od and d. At around 45-50mph when you let off the gas the tranny start to downshift like jumping between 3-4 and then after a few times doing that it start to make a grinding noise even on reverse. Im going to install a rebuild tc and new solenoids anyway just in case thanks for any advice :)

    • @brutallyhonestmf5578
      @brutallyhonestmf5578 Před 9 lety +3

      youre completely correct I check all other 7 thrust bearings but I didnt check the one inside the planetary and is blown in pieces thank you very much !!! can thank you enough!
