    Thanks for sharing, and here's a small note for those who don't have a breaker bar or long torque wrench you can use normal size wrench! it worked for me with some effort on 10" wrench with zero problems. Checked 👍.

    Great video but you didn't remove the old thermostat gasket from the engine block.
    Saved me a ton of money! Thanks!

      Lol. It’s definitely different. M112 is much better IMO as an engine. Very reliable.

    What a great instructive video, you're very talented. Seems complicated as there are lots of obstructions, typical mercedes lol

    You don't need to remove the secondary air pump if you have a 1/4" drive E10 socket - a 3/8 E10 will not fit without removing the secondary air pump. Socket worth the $10 and you will use it many times on the M272/M273 Engine as well as most later ones. Very easy DIY job.

    While the aux air pump is off you might as well change the tumble flap cam to a steel one on the front of the air intake manifold . Be careful of the vacuum hose plastic connection also as they break pretty easily.

    Woooo, I removed the aux air pump without removing the belt. But I do have a collect of odd tools. Also I wouldn’t remove the aux pump fully or most of its attachments. I’d just remove most of the bolts and leave the one under the serpentine belt loose so that I can pivot the aux pump away to access the thermostat bolt needed.

    What is the normal temperature of m272 engine? Mine is about 90 C. From the AMG menu it shows the engine oil temperature and it sometimes goes to 105 C. Is it normal the oil temperature to be higher than the water temperature? I am with e new thermostat.

      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes it will be higher than coolant temp under normal circumstances. 90 c for coolant temp is also fine. Even up to 100 c on a hot day in traffic for coolant temp is acceptable. If it starts rising above that pretty consistently, then I would look into the fan, thermostat or for a leak.
