left to watch from the sidelines…

For those who can't bear the large crowds,
the noise and the spectacle,
who'd rather enjoy it from a comfortable distance…
Pride is for you.
For those still working on themselves,
still figuring things out,
not yet ready to be seen…
Pride is for you.
For those still without a support group,
still searching for their found family…
Pride is for you.
For those who are unable to participate,
due to restrictive religious affiliations or cultural norms…
Pride is for you.
For those who are scared and vulnerable,
facing the threat of exclusion or violence,
from their family or even their peers,
at home, at school, at work…
Pride is for you.
For those who have legitimate responsibilities,
be they domestic or professional,
unable or unwilling to neglect them…
Pride is for you.
For those who still don't feel included,
be it because of their sexual identity or lifestyle,
intimate and romantic preferences,
still subjected to kink-shaming and slut-shaming…
Pride is for you.
For the forgotten and the accidentally excluded,
the ones whose own community has yet to recognise…
Pride is for you.
For those who simply wanted to celebrate
and express solidarity in their own way,
whose choices are every bit as valid…
Pride is for you.
