The thing with Overwatch is that no game feels quite like it. I'm not a huge PvP FPS fan but what makes me enjoy OW is that it originally didn't try to lean too far into that genre and instead chose to build on teamwork and tactics. There's something a lot more satisfying about outplaying the enemy through mind games than landing a good shot. It's probably why I play tank + supp and not DPS.
OW2 leaning further towards the fast paced FPS style shooter doesn't fill me with joy but I am still excited to try it out and make my decision once it fully releases
I agree, but also people say they really like mid fights, so I think there's space in the game for characters like mccree to work and be fine, the balancing act is just really hard. To be fair brig and bap invulnerability field (even this is debatable) are the only two real mistakes I can think of. But I also like fighting doomfist, and basically no one but doomfist players agree with me on that.
I want more characters like reinhardt, or zen. I want more projectile/melee we don't need more basic fps characters, we have enough to satisfy anyone playing for that reason.
@@Tabnito I definitely agree that launch brig (maybe not so much now) and immortality is a problem, but they're unfortunately necessary evils. Without immo, tanks can't cope with the sheer amount of damage there is in the game now. Without brig, the support experience would be even worse against dive comps. She was added to be an answer to dive but they did it in a horrible way
I somewhat agree its not like ow is turning into cod the main thing is blizz wants to get rid if cc which im definitely ok with a lot of the comps we have now (minus one tank) will most likely still exist but be played differently there will still be a ton of strategy and coordination in the game but it will certainly feel different
You said it better than I ever could, but this is exactly the sentiment that makes afraid for the release of OW2. Because it's not just that there's a new game that I'm not interested in playing, but it'll siphon all the players out of a game that I really enjoyed, making them both unplayable.

I mean I play OW almost on a regular basis so the hype isn't necessary to bring me back. However, I would like if it brought back other people and if a lot of new people would try it out. OW is an amazing game and I only wish success to it.

I love Overwatch. The hype for me is seeing regular players happy again, seeing the streamers who have been carrying this game, enjoy themselves again. Seeing groups of friends just having fun together.. all of it. Even if I don't make it into the closed beta, I'm happy not finally see things moving 💜

I think just seeing more streamers in these videos shows that there is hype building again. It probably won't be the same as 2016 but I'm still excited.
I remember playing OW when it first came out, played for about a year and it was some of the most fun I've ever had playing video games. I left cuz at the time life kept me busy and and I usually can't play 1 game for longer then 3 months but I've always wanted an excuse to come back, what better excuse then a sequel. I truly cannot wait.

To answer your question I haven't played OW in like 6+ months and I came back 2 days ago to get use to it again before the OW2 beta comes out.

I feel like I just can't stop playing this game now, sure you have other games that are similar to it, like apex or even paladins, but nothing has that overwatch feel, nothing has that overwatch diversity, you could argue games have one of these things like say LOL but that's such a vastly different game I couldn't even compare. Although I hate how long everything has taken and some of the directions the devs have chosen have been interesting to say the least, I still can't find myself playing another game, I always tend to come back to ow here. So a lot of words to say I really hope ow2 works well
I agree with everything you said except the two examples you gave, paladins is like a cheap knock off and apex isnt even the same genre other than shooter.

Ik this is an older video but yes I just found out that overwatch 2 went live as a beta like 2 weeks ago and I found overwatch and re-downloaded it and I can’t wait to play overwatch 2
It will make me try it at least. I don’t know if it will keep me. My passion with being competitive at overwatch left along with my friends leaving the game. So it would have to be something truly special to get me fully on board.
I really hope it does. I miss those days, and I miss those friends.

OW2 is alienating a large part of the playerbase, I don't think it'll make it a year before the drop in players forces them to re-implement a 6v6 competitive role q mode.

AotW: I dunno, I'll probably try it but OW can only coast off of it's uniqueness for so long. The lack of content has turned a lot of people away for good.
If it doesn't have the same style "without teamwork, you lost already" then I might consider buying it, other than that, it's waste of money and time.
OW2 has enough to bring me back if it was free to play only. Lost all hope investing money into it thinking something will change.

I honestly don't think the problem I have with OW will be fixed in OW2. You saw it a few times in this video. T500 players smurfing in Bronze-Diamond. If a player plays a game on easy difficulty, you'd probably think it's because they aren't good enough to play normal and higher. This is what I think with T500 smurfs. Clearly they must get destroyed in their elo.
Anyone else really getting the vibe that whoever is producing these low-key wants OW2 to fail/simply doesn't care? The way a few of these questions of the week have be phrased make me feel like that's the case and it's a bummer
I know what you're saying but I think he just has a bit of a pessimistic outlook. It's understandable after all the bad news and delays these last few years. I'm choosing to stay optimistic though, I really want OW2 to succeed and I don't wanna believe it won't
How did Raikuo/Naahmie on Ashe get any kills except the Rein from czcams.com/video/8sHiAb0L4SY/video.html and onwards? Watch it at 0.25 speed and you can see that most if not all shots are not even close to the targets. Seemed off even at normal speed...
