Hi Anthony. Tnx for the video. I've been learning lately about the unbelievable amount of tension in my body (even when I just sit. forget about playing). I study the Alexander technique, after I got a pain in my neck and inside my ear, and had sometimes had blood in my saliva(!) when playing, and I just couldn't get rid of it. All different kind of doctors found literally nothing. The technique helped me so much, not just in playing, but improved my well being and general feeling. I've learned that almost, if not all of us, tightening our neck, back, hips and what not. when we play, it get much worse. The craziest thing is that we are not aware of it, and we actually think we are comfortable. We get stiff, and therefore we interrupt our breathing, which should be free (instead of getting out of the way of the breathing mechanism, we take deep breaths. this is awful!!!) I recommend everybody to pay attention to tension in the body, and to be skeptical about the feeling of comfort. The pain can bite you from nowhere. If anyone is interested, try to have lessons in the technique (good teacher is a must). Cheers and stay relaxed!!!

Anthony, this is outstanding! Thank you for reminding us that if we don’t use 1-finger per fret we will not be imprisoned for life! Technique is beneficial, but too many people in all kinds of disciplines worship form over function. Perhaps you would consider posting a video showing the back of your fretting hand especially the thumb while playing similar pieces. …adjusting my thumb more is really helping me, especially learning not to balance or help hold the bass with my thumb. Lastly, that is an awesome looking bass--even on video it conveys quality. Be well. Keep sharing…

I point my bass neck slightly forward, this seems to even out fluidity up and down the neck.
