Dude, you are top tier in my books for how-to content creator. Good tempo, good play by play, good visuals, and you obviously have a firm grasp on the ins and outs of all that is HVAC. And the voice is youtube gold so its all there man. I watch alot of how-to vids, not as a hobby but because i have to learn somethin fast so i can do all these projects that have little to no experience in but i take on in the name of the Almighty Dollar. Your gonna have success in this man so keep on rowin. Me, and a whole buncha guys aound the world lean on youtube like a crutch nowadays. Its like the Chiltons for Everything. A new system can be 8-12K. That’s a HARD financial blow and I think there are reasons it’s so expensive because it’s a hellish industry to be in. Just know that I hear you and I do want change 👍

All right, I rewatched this video to see if there were any tips that would help me. I've done some aluminum brazing before, mostly successful but not always, but this one isn't going to be easy. Right in the middle of a micro Channel condenser coil. All I've got is an acetylene torch and some Al8. If I mess up, the church doesn't have any air conditioning for the services this weekend, and that's kind of a big deal in Florida. No pressure, right? Okay, enough stalling. I'm going in.
Oh yeah that sounds difficult. How did it go?
@@HVACLife It was actually much easier than I figured. I cleaned it up real well, mainly just sandcloth until everything was shiny. Since the channels were so thin, I thought they would melt too quickly. As soon as I put heat to it, within a couple seconds, I applied al8 and it melted perfectly. I believe there was about a 1 second difference between 'hot enough' and 'oh, damn, I melted it' but it worked out. Maybe because it was for a church I had angels on my side? Perhaps just a bit of luck. It seems to always be the stuff I expect to be the most difficult that end up easy, and the stuff I expect to go smoothly that end up an absolute mess.
I think the stuff thay goes right is there to teach you how to dream and not waste away in nightmares 😊

When you mixed it, roughly what is the consistency you’re looking for? Normal water or distilled?
distilled is always better in cases like this. less chance of impurities messing around

Those units MUST NOT be compromised in such a manner, or so the instructions warn. 🤫
Al Braze is way too expensive.
