  • As Principal Farrier Seth Noble points out in this latest video, every time we work with a horse is a chance to give them a good experience that makes them happier and easier to work with in the future. That's a key part of our horsemanship philosophy as farriers: We want to be one of the high points of their day, or even their week, not something they dread.
Our horsemanship sodality reflects this as well. Members of the ream view the opportunity to work with each other as something to look forward to and enjoy. At the start of the video, Lauren King and Seth work together to catch a horse that wants to play around a little longer, and it becomes a game for all three of them.
Later, videographer Beth Vicars and Junior Farrier Chris Lenhart take in the tail end of tulip season in the Skagit Valley between barns. This interlude is as much a tribute to the beautiful region we inhabit as much as it is a tribute to the camaraderie of our team.
But the real star of this chapter is Harper, a hackney horse cared for by Brenda Rone. Despite having a number of health issues that put a damper on their dressage training, Harper still has good hooves that needed to brought into better proportion using our Signature Trim methodology. It all comes together nicely for Harper with Seth and Lauren working side-by-side, and the building blocks are there to bring even greater relief and stability in the next trimming session.
Speaking of building blocks, this chapter closes with Chief Operations Officer Sarah Caples Noble discussing the significant and exciting changes happening behind-the-scenes in the business. We'll be taking a break from making these chapter videos for a few months while we focus on some of those other projects, including our curriculum for horse owners, so when we return with chapter 14, we'll no doubt have big announcements.
One thing will never change, though: our horse-first mission. Thank you for supporting that.
Big thanks to Herres Farms and Cain Lake Stables for letting us film on location and to Brenda Rone and Harper for letting us feature you.
