so I started my garden late last years it was my first time. I think I started in mid March. this year would you recommend earlier. you said somwthing about end of January. I planted too much too close together. my herbs grew great though. I got somw cukes and tomatoes and just a few handfuls of string beans and okra but never got the Swiss chars to get any bigger than the size of a starter. no Strawberries. no zucchini and no Broccoli. next year we want to do a large raised bed. we had 3 smaller boxed off areas.

I love all things herbal and want to grow my own flowers and herbs, but I have a brown thumb. It would have to be things that would grow naturally without too much care. I either over water or under water lol. I guess that's what it is.

honestly I feel like a lot of gardening is about DOING... trial and error... finding problems and working for solutions. I feel like just diving in (while relying on some good resources of course) can lead to the best gardeners.
