The elevator sounds like it is of the Hydraulic type as opposed to a Traction elevator. It also looks like it is very poorly maintained. I was an elevator mechanic for a few years, and yes I can see why they titled this video as the worst ever. It sounds like it is loose and its guide rails and rollers are totally worn out. You could hear the car skidding on the shaft walls. When that guy stuck his finger he could have easily gotten shocket. He pushed a broken momentary contact switch. If he would have touched the two switch conductors, the shock would have floored him.

Not to mention the indicator is backwards. S for Platform level and P for Street level. Least they replaced that tacky light but still looks ugly on the inside.

You could take the Millennium, Randoph ramp on the Southside of the train station up instead of the South Water Elevator. There are restaurants and other places to go to. Plus the South Shore Line to Southbend Indiana, The Chicago Ped Way. You could walk the Chicago Ped Way to the CTA L System. The Chicago Ped Way is useful it is connected to many buildings underground, in the Summer when it gets hot out, it can be used with Air Conditioning to keep cool. In the Winter the Chicago Ped Way can be used when days are very cold out and snowy.
If anything this is the worst elevator in the world, I mean you have a crappy orange outdoor light AT LEAST MAKE THAT AN LED! Hanging Emergency Light. Burnt out ceiling lights. Far Beyond Poorly Maintained. Sounds like it’s low on oil going down. Has no reason to even exist..
And also the worst part is most elevator filmers will first complain that the elevator is crappy and then when it gets a mod or they fix it up they complain that its fixed its like they have no common sense at all

It was 8 years ago. But i think they scraped that old funky noisy elevator and get a modern one that sounds good and less funky and not having that horrible buzzing sound I don’t blame the hotel manager that much but i blame the people who made it
