- Today we're doing some different...and very awesome! We are visiting Chenrezig - a Buddhist study, retreat and meditation centre situated on 160 acres on the edge of the Blackall Range in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The centre is tucked away in a rainforest setting and home to a Tibetan teacher, resident nuns and monks, and a community of lay students, volunteers, and guests. Our visit gives us a fascinating insight into Tibetan Buddhism. We have a wonderful morning which includes a walk around the beautiful gardens and finish with a delicious chai and cake.....
Chenrezig Institute offers introductory classes in meditation, a vegetarian cafe, an extensive library, an art studio, yoga, the Garden of Enlightenment memorial gardens, and extensive rainforest grounds, all of which are open to the general public. A range of simple accommodation is available for those wishing to stay.

Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!

Thankyou so much Beth and Paul for that lovely experience. All the time we were on the Sunshine Coast and we never heard of Chenrezig. I love Buddha 💕 I just wish I knew more about the way of life. We have a huge temple here in Canterbury. I'd love to visit one day. Take care and thank you again. The girls cracked me up🤣😂🤣 when they came running for the seeds.

We have visited similar places in Asia over the years, but this one was very special because of the beautiful location and there was only a handful of visitors. We’re really looking forward to visiting again to spend more time there to see the yoga centre and art studio that we missed this time. We’re so pleased you enjoyed it ❤️

When are you going to resume your Vietnam trip? It's starting to get very busy with tourists in SE Asia now. Your subscribers will jump once you return. Too expensive to visit Qld, ridiculous prices at Gold Coast hotels.
Hi Steve, that’s a great question! We can’t wait to go back and are making plans for early next year. There are a couple of things that have been on our mind..1. Travel Insurance: We left Australia when there were no cases here or in Vietnam and we tried getting home as soon as things went bad….but our travel insurance refused to cover our airfares or help us to get flights home. We paid for 6 months cover and it meant nothing when we needed it. We have travelled overseas extensively in the last 20 years and always had insurance but never used it, then when we needed it, we found ourselves on our own. We paid $6k to get on the last flight out of Hanoi. 2. Housesitter: We returned home to find our housesitter had bailed, the house was a pigsty, Molly was (very) hungry and there was some minor damage and some things missing. Our neighbours told us that the responsible vet we had booked with references through a house sitting agency made it a party house for the 6 weeks we were gone. Luckily, we weren’t away for the full 6 months. Anyway, we are doing our research and making plans and fingers crossed we have a better experience with those two things next time around 🤗
