And she never got the credit and love that she really deserves. The role of Leather Tuscadero did more harm than good for her career. People didn't take her seriously in the industry after that
Wet dreams of my childhood! Ik was 11 years of age. Before Suzi I was in love with Mariska Veres from Shocking Blue (from Venus - I'm your Venus, I'm your fire; a short desire...)
This is one of the first songs I remember hearing as a wee boy that made me pay attention to the music. Was in an Ice Rink for a Hockey match in Scotland in the early 80s. That moment has stuck with me all these (40 odd) years later
Some of us never saw her on "Happy Days" - as a 13 year old schoolboy I was privileged to watch and admire her performances on British TV. She rocked like no other female star of the time.
В семидесятых все катушки были забиты до упора сьюзи куатро смоки шокинг блю лабионда аманда лир битлз куин крафтверк супермакс манфред манн а ла карт рокетс абба и тд здорово 👍 было здорово 👍
The first female bass player to front her own band and become a major rock star. Happy Days was a bonus but Suzi Quatro is SO much more than Leather Tuscadero. The First Lady of Rock and The Queen of Rock 'N' Roll.
Сюзи кватро люби мая певица,молодежи 70 хгодов,молодая очень красивая и о,ень талантливпя певица,великолепные песни .особенно мне нравятся-1972-3-4 год отличные песни .спасибо за пограму .
Happy Birthday Suzi Quatro born on June 3, 1950. She is an American singer, bass guitarist, songwriter, and actress. In the 1970s, she scored a string of hit singles that found greater success in Europe and Australia than in her homeland, reaching No. 1 in the UK, other European countries and Australia with her singles "Can the Can" (1973) and "Devil Gate Drive" (1974). - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzi_Quatro
I remember when Suzi sang this on "Happy Days." When I found out that she was part of the 1970s Glam Rock era in Britain(even though she was born in America)in which "Devil Gate Drive," "Can the Can" were among her top hits, I'd thought, "Man! Why was I deprived of such great music?" I believe that this era wasn't quite as promoted in America; hence not all of its talent who were successful in the UK(and perhaps other countries)had equal, if any Statewide success. Now I'm catching up on what I missed musically--Suzi was awesome!
"Why was I deprived of such great music?" captures what I was just thinking. I loved her on Happy Days -- having no idea who she was at the time (which is criminal when you consider that her stuff measures up to about anything in the 70s and still holds up).
My friend yes Suzi was awesome live. Very fond memories of that night, she loved coming to tour Australia. What a track to finish an album with. And yes America never seemed to get into the glam rock to the extent that the UK did.
Dear Suzi & Friends !!!))) Very Thanks for your supersongs !!! So I must just say - how you rise x100 times your music auditory & cash !!! Please remix super all super songs into more active - Workout Fitness Combat Tabata Running Yoga - BreakDance & DrumBass !!! )))
This song was sung on my favorite episode of Happy Days, when Joanie sang back up with Leather at Arnold's. Back when TV was good and wasn't full of reality shows
She needed such a tiny body to swing the bass guitar. A meter tall and a wild strawberry, with a strong voice, always smiling. A refresher on TOPops 70s. I am 63 years old and I play guitar for 54 years.

Allergies Blackpool Victoria hospital. Have a look at Janette manrara godolphin heather and will bailey strictly visiting Victoria hospital with toddlers crying in a cot! Breaks my heart with anaphylaxis me 💔
I love Suzi, have for years but this video, omg, it's so corny! The piano guy dancing, then sliding back to play, the drummer leaving the drums to go out & dance, I've never seen anything like it. I guess this was the 70s altho I don't remember watching any videos back then like they did in the 80s & 90s. If we were lucky we got to watch our groups on Bandstand, Midnight Special, Soul Train or Top of the Pops. Regardless, this is one lady who ought to be in the Hall of Fame & I don't understand why she isn't.
Rumour has it, they may have been lip syncing and not really playing the instruments in this performance...LOL....classic tune of the era though, I remember it as a kid.
"Hey, you all want to go down to Devil Gate Drive? Well, come on"! "Welcome to 'The Dive'!" How cool was this beautiful lady 😍
Best for 50 years.
Love how the whole band are totally into the song and dancing along. No fancy choreography, just simply having fun
My great uncle is the boy in the white jumper! My great uncle Dave! 😁
It’s my great uncle too ❤️
I read on facebook that he (Dave Neal) passed away in november 2020.

Uncle Dave is an absolute legend!!!!
Fascinating........🙄
Love her in the 70's was facinated by her and used to do an impressin of her at school wanted to be like her
Suzi had no role model. She kicked the door down for so many others. Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde and Debbie Harry. Love ❤
Well put!
Quite correct she was the first girl rocker. Love her!
she did love Elvis
And she never got the credit and love that she really deserves. The role of Leather Tuscadero did more harm than good for her career. People didn't take her seriously in the industry after that
Suzie is what she is, but why you gotta detract from Tina and grace? Nutbush is one of my top rock picks and white rabbit is everyone’s top 5
Awesome voice
Best rock chick ever ❤️
Amazing how the piano plays itself in the chorus.
The first real rock chick.
She loved Australia and Australia loved her!
of this style yes, but there were some before in the 50s and 60s.
Proper music by a talented and beautiful real woman.
amen brother
Suzi, The first girl I ever fell in love with. I was 8 at the time. Still love her.
Wet dreams of my childhood! Ik was 11 years of age. Before Suzi I was in love with Mariska Veres from Shocking Blue (from Venus - I'm your Venus, I'm your fire; a short desire...)

'Devil Gate Drive' is masterful pop and has a chorus and lead vocal from Suzi crammed full of snarl and charisma.
Birth of punk
One of suzi's best songs.

Me too! We can start a support group for ex- Suzi adepts! 😅
T.o.p.1974 singing wild one that's when I fell for her wow.
'Devil Gate Drive' is the perfect song to play at a Halloween party. This used to be one of my all time favorite songs.
She was already a star before happy days.
The first female bass player to front her own band and become a major rock star. Happy Days was a bonus but Suzi Quatro is SO much more than Leather Tuscadero. The First Lady of Rock and The Queen of Rock 'N' Roll.

For me, I find her demeanour too masculine to bear.
We had great music over here in Britain in the 70s we got to hear a lot of your rock groups as well
@TheMaidofMiddleEarth A strong woman is someone who upholds her morals. A masculine, chick with a d**k is an entirely different issue.
RIP Dave Neal .
Great drummer .x
Thank you for your comment this is my great uncle Dave he will be dearly missed

Love the song but who had the bad idea for the cheesy white sneakers?
This is a amazing song. If you don't like it what wrong with you?

Debbie was already on the scene, however, she wasnt as noticed with her group before Blondie

I think it's obvious she's not playing the guitar definitely.
TOP of the POPs always had the artist mime!
@@codewizard58 apart from kurt cobain lmaoooo
I love how her band mates danced with her. They looked like they enjoyed the song more than her. 😅
😀
"Hey, you all want to go down to Devil Gate Drive? Well, come on"!
"Welcome to 'The Dive'!"
Well, at the age of five they can do their jive
Down in Devil Gate Drive
And at the age of six they're gonna get their kicks
Down in Devil Gate Drive
Well your mama don't know where your sister done go
She's gone down to the Drive. She's the start of the show
And let her move on up. Let her come let her go.

Down in Devil Gate Drive
So come alive. Come alive
Down in Devil Gate Drive
So come alive. Come alive
Down in Devil Gate...down in Devil Gate
Down in Devil Gate Drive
Down in Devil Gate...down in Devil Gate
Down in Devil Gate Drive
When they reach their teens,
That's when they all get mean
Down in Devil Gate Drive
When I was sweet sixteen
I was the jukebox queen
Down in Devil Gate Drive
I lead the angel pack on the road to sin
Knock down the gates!
Let me in. Let me in
Don't mess me 'round, cause you know where I've been
To 'The Dive' down in Devil Gate Drive
Well your mama don't know where your sister done go
She goes down to the Drive. She's the start of the show
Let her move on up. Let her come let her go.
She can jive

What happened to her in Midsomer Murders was shocking.

Leather Tuskadero
She reminds me of Billie Eilish facially, both quality performers
... А ГОВОРИЛИ ЧТО НА ЗАПАДЕ ПОД ПРОГРАММУ НЕ ПОЮТ...
What the hell are they wearing on their feet? Not boots! Not socks! Not tennis shoes!
Not catering wellies?
She reminds me of Avril lavinge
