UPDATE: The stereo problem & lack of bass has been fixed.
From what I was told, Maserati has had problems with their amplifiers. They brought in my Ghibli, and re-programmed the amplifier and boom, the stereo sounds perfect with plenty of bass. Thanks! And adult can definitely fit in the back but it's a little tight. So I would compare it to most other 4 door sport cars. If that's a really important feature to you, then definitely go test drive one and sit in the back. Good luck and thanks for watching!

The amplifier issue is just a software update to increase the subwoofer by 30db. It is purposely set to a lower output by the factory for reasons that make no sense. Every owner needs to contact their dealer to update the software. This applies to all 2014 & 2015 vehicles with the "Premium Sound Package" .

I rimmed the car also traveling through a drive thru restaurant. I used silver paint on a rag to hide the scratches. It worked well. Also, I haven't been pulled over by the cops for 25 years; but after getting this car in December I've been stopped nine times. What about you, Nick; are you having the same problem?
Nick, test driving the Ghibli this Friday with my Wife (who used to work at "I" - saw the sticker in your window). Now we are over in Tampa. I've never replied to someone's CZcams video but found it really helpful given it's your daily driver. Wish there was a way to reach out to you for you opinion on a few things. Just as one example, Tampa apparently has shy'd away from the 21 inch Titano rims based on rough ride feedback. St. Pete is the opposite. Curious want your take is on Tampa Bay roads like 19 given your on it a lot ;)
Honestly, the look of the car is amazing. If buying I would just do the entry level - if leasing, that may change given on what the increased cost is per month. I'm seduced by the look of the car and sound of the car, not necessarily the speed. I'm also a bit concerned my wife will not like having the sound daily but it sounds like outside of sport mode it's probably fairly muted when driving normal speeds through the neighborhood, lol.
One last thing which hit home with me from your first video. . . I internally have this dilemma going on inside about the perception of driving a Maserati when viewed by co-workers, and the like. Some of the lease deals are inline with more frequently seems cars that would go at the same price yet would never be viewed as "oh wow, how are you driving that." Not sure how to handle or process that since that "wow" reaction is what I have to the car when I see it and what I want people to have (who doesn't like when something says nice car) when they see it. Anyway, trying to sort that out as well.

Amy Gabay Hi Amy. I haven't had any mechanical issues with mine and am very happy with the car. But I will say, there's something about the Ghibli..all small details that are hard to explain, that keep this car from being up in the ranks of Porsche, Mercedes, etc. I think in a couple of years they can get there and again not to say it's not amazing. Because it's gorgeous, fast as hell, fun to drive, turns heads, etc. Once they get the details down, this car will be right up there with the other names I listed. Just my opinion. But as for now, I'm very happy with the Ghibli.

Hey I love the Ghibli but I also love the new Range Rover 2015 big body. I'm putting logos on the side of ether car I go with. I'm wondering does the ghibli turn heads?
Max M In my experience the Ghibli turns a lot more heads than the Range Rover. And just as many (maybe more) than my previous Panamera. I think because you don't see a lot of them out there. Good luck!
Hey Nick. I love the car! I have the same issue with the stereo and I was wondering how should I ask the dealer to fix it. Do they get a new system or do they amp up the bass? Thanks
Thanks so much. I simply called my dealer and spoke to the service manager. He knew all about it, said it was a well known issue and said it needed an update of some kind to fix it. A couple of hours later it sounded great with plenty of bass to spare. If your dealer hasn't heard of this issue have them call Reeves Motorcars in Tampa and ask for the Maserati service manager, Jamie. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Just bought this same model! I agree that the sound system sucks lol. I love the sound from the exhaust though. Awesome car bro! Do you think it's worth getting a radar detector?
Congrats! I def think it's worth it. At the least, my radar detector has saved me 3-4 tickets.
Thanks for the reply, yeah my business partner has the brand new blacked out edition big body and it rarely get any attention. I can get a nice sq4 used with 3-5k on it for 70K opposed to buying a Range Rover that doesn't get much attention at all for 115K. Between the two which one do you like more to drive. Also based off of you opinion your saying go with the ghibli? I'm trying to get people curious about the car to wonder what I do.. Then of coarse I can tell them I have my own realestate company and pitch them my business.

+Rudy Tabora Rudy, I'm involved in a few different things...real estate, the restaurant business, etc. I definitely don't have everything solved and am always trying to be a better business person every day...but my advice to you would be find what you love to do and then go for it. Hi Nick I have a very similar Ghibli SQ4 Different color inside and I can tell you is a great looking car but it has a lot of issues, The best review in my opinion is: 2015 Maserati Ghibli Review - Kelley Blue Book, With the only thing they didn't mention is how uncomfortable is in the rear seats. I like my car but after a year driving it I'm ready to change it. Regards
***** Marco, I'll check out that review so thanks for mentioning it. I would agree...it's a great car but definitely has some issues. I think in a few years, that can take it from good status to a great one.
Nick, since you had a Panamera - how would you compare your Ghibli to the Porche? I am looking at both.
Jerry, both are amazing cars so I don't think you can go wrong. I'd say the Panamera is a little more refined as Porsche has all the small details perfected on the car. I would say it has a nice sport luxury and definitely turns some heads. The Ghibli is definitely more raw and more sport than luxury. It's louder (exhaust note) and definitely has more of a sporty feel. In terms of details, since the Ghibli is a new model, Porsche Panamera has it beat in that department. You might ask what details? It's hard to explain but I think of it as Porsche has been around for years and has perfected mostly everything. The Ghibli is pretty much brand new and thus hasn't yet. Everything still works great, but the Navigation, Park Assist, Stereo, Gear Shifter, etc etc all are a little quirky and not refined yet. I think the rarity of Maserati in general will get more heads turned than a Panamera. So in closing, if you're looking to get a more refined luxury sport car...go Panamera. If you're looking for more of a raw sport feel to the car and aren't than concerned with the little details working perfectly...go Ghibli. Good luck.

Brian J. It's the premium stereo package and after they updated it, it sounds like a completely different system. Night and day! Also the shifter was squeezing sometimes when I was putting it in park, and they fixed that also. Thanks again for your help Brian!
Nick Pappas Great! Still have to live vicariously through you till my '16 is delivered (3 more months). All the bad reports of the premium stereo pushed me to get the B&W package. I can put a video up reviewing it once it arrives.

Thanks a lot. So on your main screen go to "more" then click on "settings" then click on "safety & driving assistance". It should be the second option showing. I ended up just shutting mine off. I wish you could have it display with no sound but that's not an option. Hope this helps.

Really thinking of getting one of these, buy or lease. If you don't mind me asking about how much do you pay to lease I seen an advertisement here in Vegas for 770 lease option. I want mind to look pretty much like yours far as interior and color goes maybe a silver body
Devlin Thompson Jr. Devlin, I think you're right in the ballpark. Depending on if you put any thing down or not...I say $700-$850. Mine needed up being around $750 with a few grand down. Good luck man!

+Karl Leuang Thanks Karl. I think both are amazing cars so I'm not sure I think one is better than the other. But if you're looking for more of a raw sports car then the Maserati is for you. If you're looking for a great sports car that has a little more luxury and isn't too raw of a sports car then I would go Panamera. Both great cars but different in that regard.

Michael Weingarten I went with the 18% tint and used Suntek (which is equivalent to a ceramic tint). Hope that helps...

Hey Nick, i like your videos, and this car just looks absolutely stunning from the side as well. I am just wondering if the windows and lights switches work well, because apparently they are shared with other cars under Fiat. And putting the switches that are in a 300C and caravan into a Ghibli is just kind of pissing off. No offense to you tho.

+es3502012 I love how this has become in issue. The other way to look at it is, the same switches in Ferrari's and Maseratis are used in Chryslers. Every brand does this.
It is just gross that they are saving that extra $10 on a car that goes for over $100K. They did that on the Quattroporte as well, it doesn't make sense to do it to a Quattroporte. It feels like that are doing the refresh for profit only, they are not caring about the status of a Quattroporte. They didn't build a car for the car, but for money. Of course they need profit, but an Audi A8 doesn't share the switches with a Volkswagen Tiguan. By no mean am i disrespecting Nick's car or his purchase decision tho.
+es3502012 Hahaha, man seriously you have to think about it the other way. Maserati isn't using Chrysler switches. Chrysler is using Maserati switches. I used to work in manufacturing (albeit not in the auto industry) but as a mechanical engineer there is nothing wrong with it, the quality is great. It's called being efficient to increase profitability WITHOUT sacrificing quality. People who review the car need something to gripe about so they gripe about the switches which makes no sense. Ghibli has so many other real things to gripe about (I have one so I know) but the switches just isn't one.

Hello Nick, i have the same exact Q4 and since i' ve got it on the radio i blasted the Bass all the way up to the max and i hear no difference whatsoever, is that the problem you had too?
KentZeL That's the exact problem I had and I'm happy to report it can easily be fixed. Call your Maserati dealer and mention it to them. The service department will know about all the Amplifier issues these Ghibli's have had. They either have to replace the amp or re-program it. After they did that, my Ghibli now has great base and the stereo sounds great. Good luck!

When it come to the sound problems, did Maserati fix that for you or was it an out of pocket cost to fix it?
Redefine Apparel They fixed everything under warranty. There's a known problem with the amplifiers...so they re-promgrammed it and it works perfectly now...and at no cost.

Omar, I've only had to use the service department once so far but they were great. Treated me very well and fixed all the issues I had.
what does the radar does?
It's just a radar detector to help prevent speeding tickets.
Nick Pappas Do you know if they tapped a wire, piggy-backed off a fuse or used the ODBII port to power it? I'm interested in something similar, but the fuse boxes are both in the trunk and under the hood, which makes for a more complicated "clean" install.
So this car is fully automatic?
Mustlehard ZF 8 speed automatic with paddle shift. Does not come in manual (despite what Jason Statham drove in FF7)

Mustlehard You're right - it looks like Nick Pappas went without the paddles. They are part of either the sport package or can be bought as a single add-on item. They can also be added post-delivery with some additional work.
Brian J. Correct. I should have stated that. The shifter itself can be used as a tiptronic type of shifter. But I do not have the paddles...which I prefer.
