- I was trying to work, but Eddie wouldn't have it. He kept coming into my office with various toys, trying to get me to play. Those eyes make it impossible to resist him!
Sheepdog doing his job--making sure you do what is actually important, and enforcing an appropriate life schedule for home time.

Best companion dog and quite a lover of all creation. I like the standard AKC full coat with docked tail, that is true OES and after breeding and owning for a few decades, the dog loves the full coat over the cut down.

They do just fine in a warm climate, as long as you keep their coats shorter.

Hi Marla, this is a great idea for a video - here you go:
1: They are BIG dogs when fully grown, make sure you have a house and a yard big enough to accommodate.
2: English Sheepdogs are very social dogs who love people, they must be integrated into your family, and get lots of love and attention. They are also usually very smart and need some behavioral training - you don't want a 100 lb sheepdog with giant paws jumping up on people.
3: If you let their coat grow out, it is a lot of work. So we choose to keep them quite short, and this keeps them cool in the summer. Also, make sure you buy from a reputable breeder who is AKC registered.

1 year later!!! And I took the opportunity to get an OES and she has made me the most super happy human on earth! She's turning 2 in Feb 2023.🥰🥰🥰
We have had a girl OES, Daisy who lived to 13. We now have an 18 week boy called Benjamin. He is adorable but we are having to put our foot down about his biting. He gets a lot of attention if we take him near people. They are great dogs and very loyal. Daisy loved beaches and Benjamin seems to feel the same. Can't wait for him to be grown enough to go on proper walks. Wendy
