The boss theme for this fight is phenomenal. For every other boss up to this point, it’s been a serious but still upbeat and happy song, fitting for the equally serious but still not so intimidating threats.
Then you get to the Dark Star, and all that gets thrown out the window. This song is sinister, intimidating, and almost hopeless all in one, just like the Dark Star itself. You’ve never fought such a serious threat, every prior fight has been in defense of yourself.
Now you’re defending the whole kingdom

I don’t know, it was kind of a weakling to me. I had a much harder time with Blizzard Midbus and Dark Fawful than I did the Dark Star.

@@Sockren Dark Fawful had that stupid ass orb attack that you could only counter if the game felt like letting you. The Dark Star didn’t really have any attack that I found hard to counter, and if it did, it didn’t do a lot of damage.
@@fissilewhistle i only played the original bowsers inside story so idk what is different. but i remember 1st trying it and getting hit like 4 times. and all of the attacks for me were really easy

Yoko Shimomura's complete remaster of Bowser's Inside Story's OST is so underappreciated... this and The Grand Finale are complete masterpieces.

I love this song. It sounds like something straight out of the Kingdom Hearts series. It almost has some Partners in Time vibes.
Specifically, it reminds me of the Anti Black Coat Nightmare from Dream Drop Distance.

When I first played the remake, I didn’t watch any playthroughs on what to expect. Then I reached the Dark Star, expecting to hear the normal Boss music, and then I hear THIS. At first I thought my 3DS was broken, but then I realized that was part of the game lmao.

The fact that Dark Star got it's own boss theme is beyond awesome and this blew my mind when I was like "DARK STAR HAS IT'S OWN THEME??" Truly my new favorite boss theme and feels more like a final boss theme than anything in my opinion!
I think the theme fits as a "this is the real threat" situation, even though fawful is the main antagonist, its the dark star thats the actual final boss in the end.

A very threatening song. This literally explains how serious this fight is. The Dark Star is something to destroy immediately, or this kingdom is doomed.
It freaking sucks that this is the last Mario and Luigi RPG game we've got since Alpha Dream went out of business. 😭

I think it's because the DSX was nothing more than a challenge made from bowser's memories. Or guts? Because the DSX isn't actually a threat, it got the normal boss theme.
@@ebty4969 I think it's because of how the boss arena itself is designed. It looks like a wresting or boxing ring instead of reusing the original boss's location. That's why you don't refight the Sculet because it used the Flame Pipe for one of its attacks.
The Battle Ring fights in Dream Team all take place in their original areas, which is why Antasma's theme still plays for the X version.

I wish Dark Star was a bit more challenging, like maybe it could still use its regular attacks even when its barrier is broken, because the lack of difficulty when fighting this literal god of destruction didn't do it as much justice as the song did.

Well, it’s composed by the same person as Kingdom Hearts, so I’d imagine someone wouldn’t think it’s a Mario song.

I'm so glad the dark star got its own boss theme, despite not being the final boss fight it still deserved better than the standard boss theme for its fight considering its one of the two main antagonists of the game

Nintendo open the door for 3ds games getting a switch port (and maybe even the next console coming) so I see them making more Mario and Luigi games, possibly even porting this game and fixing the issues the community had with it

This game, while on it's own is incredible, left a lot to be desired. No 3D, 30FPS, slowed down gameplay, etc. I wanted to do a playthrough again a couple days ago, and I chose to play the original, a choice I don't regret.
But what I regret is missing out on this killer theme
Sorry to ask, but what exactly do you mean "slowed down gameplay"? I have also played both (just finished the 3DS remake tonight), and I think the quality of life improvements such as fast-forwarding almost any event by holding down R makes this all worth it. And yes, while no 3D, I see why, and it makes sense. The 30FPS I don't get why though.

No 60fps is the whiniest nitpick people have made for this remake. The controls and animations are just fine without it. If anything solo attacks are better than the original, and last I checked the Durmite was incredibly easy in the original, there were no harder Giant Fights, and Bowser X's large fireball attack only hits 3 times instead of 10.
Superstar saga DX still rules.

Much better then a boss theme thats like “hey guess what? PARTY TIME!” and i also muted my ds and i played this over the dark star fight instead and same with dark fawfuls theme and they made the 2 fights way better

It's like Mario and Luigi teaming up with Arthur to fight against all the final bosses from all of the Ghost n Goblins/Ghouls n Ghosts games.
The thing that gets me the most is that percussion.
This is such an underrated boss song, yes I know it’s not the best one and trust me I’ve heard plenty that are better. But this, this song was, is, and will be my favorite boss song of all time to come. There’s a difference between the best and your favorite sometimes and this certainly hands down is my favorite boss song of any game for about 5 years now🤩😎

Yes or no, I don't care. This music is the most intense in the game up to this point in the game (aka near the end of the game.).
The boss battle theme was the exact same for the Dark Star in the original just like all the other bosses.
This is a new boss theme just for the Dark Star.
BIS in general for some reason didn't have any unique boss themes. Even DT had one for Antasma.
