    This is from the Album Worship Music. It came out in 2011. This their tribute song to Dime and RJD! Really glad you enjoyed it! Yes their later stuff is a lot like this! This is also Joeys first album back after the John Bush era. They do play this live. And Frank Bello does the harmonies live

    I just saw them in concert two weeks ago, third time since 2017 for the For All Kings tour, for their 40th anniversary tour. A couple years late because of the world an all. Now when they perform this song they have video of RJD, Dime and now Vinnie too. During the John Bush era of the band Dime has played on a few songs.

    FEELING THIS! I know I am in the minority but Anthrax is my favorite in the Big 4 since Spreading the Disease. This song is from Worship Music and came out in 2011. It was Joey's comeback and is all Killer, as was the 2016 follow up for all Kings. FYI , they still kill it live (check out thr Kings among Scotland DVD). I would also recommend Persistence of Time album for the base and their masterpiece Among the Living.

      Master of Puppets was my introduction to Thrash Metal and I consider that album the hallmark of thrash (though I consider Kill Em All my favorite Metallica Album). Megadeth was my first concert and I will agree with everyone who says Rust in Peace is the greatest masterpiece in the Big four, but all eras of Anthrax find its way into headphones more often than the Big three.

      "I know I am in the minority but Anthrax is my favorite in the Big 4 since Spreading the Disease" 100% agree mate. Just something about them have always made them a constant in my life lol, and despite a few less than great songs here and there they are the only band in the Big 4 (in my opinion) that has never had a complete write-off album.

    You should definitely listen to "You gotta believe" and "Blood eagle wings", both from their latest album, For All Kings (2016), They are a fast tempo and slow tempo song respectively and both are amazing.
    Cheers!
    I don't know why I said 2011, its 2016.

    This song and the album "Worship Music" sound like it was made for the John Bush era Anthrax. My personal favorite album with Joey Belladonna on vocals. This album was released September 12th 2011. My personal favorite Anthrax era was with John Bush. But this album is amazing.

    Anthrax always had interesting vocal melodies. That’s what sort of set them apart from the other three. It was more about that than the riffs. Guitars in anthrax songs are more like another rhythm instrument as opposed to melodic instruments, a lot of palm muting and very few intricate, technical riffs like Metallica, Megadeth or Slayer.
    Persistence of Time and Spreading the Disease are better early albums with Joey. I also think Sound of White Noise and Volume 8 with John Bush are also worth a listen. Dimebag and Phil of Pantera guested on some songs on Volume 8, as well as another Bush era album, Stomp 442.

So good to see the original line-up...back together again. Lol, give em, another chance. They have an amazing catalog. Lots of joking around. But...

    Anthrax has been working on the slower but groovier stuff since the 90s with the start of the John Bush era, so it's kind of awesome how they evolved that sound and kind of maintained the groove when Joey Belladona came back to the band

    • @brunomunoz467
      @brunomunoz467 Před rokem

      Also the change was because John Bush vocals sounded waaaaay better on slower and groovier songs than on thrashier songs

    Among the big four, for me.. Metallica is the virtuoso and precision, Megadeth for its ferocity and melodies, Slayer for its aggression, and Anthrax for their fun attitude and groove. My favorite will be definitely Anthrax and Megadeth.
    DH, try their John Bush album, perhaps the track 'Only' or 'room for one more' should be requested...

  • @AO968
    @AO968 Před rokem

    I understand your sentiment towards this band. I like them, but their early work is a bit hit or miss.
    State Of Euphoria was rushed, because they had to get it done before they were scheduled to go on tour with Ozzy @ Lollapalooza. The band has openly regretted that they didn't have more time to work on it.
    Maybe if you bought Persistence of Time, you would have enjoyed them more at this point in time. It has the band sounding a lot more mature, the production is good, and even their lyrical themes became more focused on sociopolitical stuff than comic books and the like.
    Of the John Bush-era, you might like Sound Of White Noise. It has a more mature sound, and I found Bush to be a good replacement for Joey. Stomp442 and Volume 8 are much weaker and hard to find, because the labels they were made under both went belly-up. We've Come For You All was a step in the right direction, but still hit or miss overall.
    Worship Music (which this song is taken from) saw Joey's comeback, and a glorious one at that. Their Follow-up, For All Kings is worth listening to, as well.
    So yeah, you picked probably their worst album to base your opinion on, so maybe this will have renewed your interest in them.
