@@SuperRat420 it’s possible the phobia manifested child birth, OR it’s also possible that she didn’t do the deed to have a child, some people have sp*rm injected into an egg and that can also work.
One of my sons (35) has hugging phobia…but if you let him know it’s coming and make it short he gets through it. I was super proud of that mom for doing it!!!❤️
What caused your son phobia?
@@Milk-ck1wv we believe he’s on the autism spectrum. My sister (60) was recently diagnosed autistic (literally a life changing diagnosis) and they are very similar.

@@Milk-ck1wv so he is a stubborn new englander, like his father, grandfather, great-grandfather and they are not big fans of doctors or diagnosis, so no…but it’s pretty clear to all that there’s issues…and he deals with them and moves on. Good men, stubborn but good 👍🏻

When someone has a phobia, you have to let them initiate first. Don’t force it and allow them to be the one to overcome.
I remember seeing that tik tok and she explained that her mom told her to keep saying “Mom hug me” because it helps the mom stay grounded.

I wouldn't mind splitting bills or anything like that but I must admit when I spent the first weekend with my husband.. we went to the store to get a few things for our weekend and I needed tissues, chapstick, and chocolate lol I'm weird y'all idk. But anyway I was fully prepared to pay for it but as soon as I put it on the counter he stepped in front of me and paid without even saying anything. I still approached the meals out as if we would split it but again he paid without hesitation so I just left the tips myself. We never really discussed it but I'd never had a guy pay for me like that EVER, not without a discussion or him making a big show of it. So I just felt so cared for that this sweet man did that as if it was just a normal thing. We got married 2 years later and he still makes me feel so loved and cared for.

It’s not odd, I have it, I have a huge problem with any kind of physical contact. It grosses me out. I find it disgusting and it sends shivers down my spine even thinking about it. I don’t have a problem when others do it, but leave me out of it.
For me it started because of my aunt, I was forced to endure her five minute (five or take) hugs, while she „kissed“ all over my face reeking of alcohol and cigarettes, when I was a child, then I endured two years of sexual harassment and then got raped by two different men, which pretty much sealed the deal, but my aunt didn’t respect it and kept doing it until my mother died and I completely broke any kind of contact with my „family“.
Now I am at a point where I tell me once „don’t ever touch me!“ and if they ignore that warning, I will at least slap them and tell them „I told you NOT to touch me! Get the hell away from me and don’t ever come back!“

no the video is right its the quiet place challenge i know this because a channel i watch has done a quiet place challenge videos. the quiet place challenge is where a hunter or predator/monster is blind folded trying to hunt down their prey while they are doing tasks as quiet as possible. its for some reason a fairly new trend of videos on you tube its only about 5 months old
also the bird box challenge is doing a tasks blind folded like driving a car they are completely different thing and you don't know the difference between them

Calling phobias absurd just shows how far away from understanding eachother we really are.
Ever considered that she might be a victim of a very bad crime? Because phobias aren’t something we are usually born with.
The pickles we don’t know why, but maybe it’s a childhood trauma and someone forced her to eat it or something related to pickles happened which hurt her and her brain started to associating pickles with pain or another negative experience.
It’s funny to me, that we accept certain fear/phobias but say others are absurd or ridiculous.
Sometimes you just want to be stupid for someone..

Re: mum-hug phobia
Obviously she knows her mum better than I do, so I don't want to sound rude or mean, but I felt really weird watching the video. She seemed so pushy to me, like she just wanted her mum to hurry up so she could get it on video for tiktok. It didn't look like she really understood how stressful the situation was for her mum. Again, I don't know them, so maybe I'm misinterpreting everything here; this is just what I felt watching it.

How do you develop a phobia of hugging?
By getting forced to have physical contact, with relatives, being hugged and kissed all over without being asked or given consent, especially gross when those relatives stink from alcohol and cigarettes, or maybe raped, sexually assaulted? There are tons of reasons, for me it’s all of the above…

@@allyoopdan991well it affected me in a sense that wasn’t able to hug my mom, even holding/touching hands was too much, I forced myself to at least do that and than she was gone, I still feel guilty. It’s so annoying that people think this is fake and make jokes about it, it’s very real and nobody understands how bad it really is. I’m glad the woman in the video has a family or at least a daughter. I isolated myself completely, because nobody seems to respect my boundaries/personal space.
It’s not funny or fun to have panic attacks everytime someone touches you or comes close to you. Crowded places, elevators or any other places with a lot of people, that’s the scariest thing for me. Shopping? Nope. Concert? Nope? Sportsgame? Nope. Party at the neighbors? Nope. Any kind of event? Nope. Public transportation? Big nope! Traveling? Nope. Maintaining any kind of relationship? Nope.
Going to any kind of doctor without panic attacks? Nope!!Even dentist!
Constant panic attacks? Yes! Nightmares? Yes! Useless therapy? Yes.
People in the comments are more curious on how she got pregnant instead of how she developed that phobia. Most phobias developing during your life not at the start.
Other example, until I was 12 years old, I didn’t have any problems with spiders. Then we had a project, we had to catch a small spider and put it in a glass and watch it. I did that and she was on my desk in my room. I went to bed and had the worst nightmare about that spider, I woke up screaming and drenched in sweat… and since then I had arachnophobia, until I started watching a CZcams channel about tarantulas and I learned a lot about spiders and tarantulas and that made me a lot better. I can at least catch and release one, before I froze and started shaking.
But there is no such „cure“ for being Haphephobic. Having a phobia of being hugged/touched.
Virtual hugs are okay, I mean you don’t touch me. So yes 😊
Tbh social distancing and staying at home, was a blessing for me. 😒 thanks to that I was safe, I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere and if I had to, I was safe from being touched as well.

In college, I wrote a paper on phobias in my psych class and I discovered that phobias are not only caused by extreme trauma but can be triggered by the most innocuous thing or event that the person doesn’t understand or remember. For me, I am repulsed by spiderwebs/cobwebs. Since I was about 6. It’s not a phobia because it doesn’t affect my day to day life but if you were to offer me $1m for me to put my hand on a web, I just couldn’t.
I’m curious, do you have a pet? Do you like animals? Pets can be so comforting and non-judgmental in ways that you wouldn’t even imagine. Be well!
