Thankyou for sharing your knowledge. I am so much more happier doing the project I'm doing because of this conditioning. Making the job so much easier. I just purchased this product this morning. It's a pity the hardware store doesn't know their products, like they used to. Thank goodness for You Tube and people like yourself.
Floetrol is some amazing stuff in my opinion- I used it many years ago to spray paint my mother's shed and the results were fantastic. Told my brother about it when he had to do some painting, and he said it was like a night-and-day difference when he used it. Worth every penny.
Drips are caused by overloading the brush or roller and then not back rolling or brushing. Floetrol gives the paint a longer open time (keeps wet longer) so it may give you more time to spot the drips. Check our work as you are laying the paint down, not just after you have finished the job.
For people that have outside metal garden art, this and it's cousin Penetrol works great and lasts longer than using acrylic spray and much cheaper too. All depends what the finish is Oil based paints use Penetrol for acrylic and latex finish use Floetrol. One swipe with the brush and it's rustproofed
I have heard many times about this product but always thought it was only for spraying. I am painting the interior of a 2000 sf house today for a neighbor and will try it out. Thanks for the tip on putting it on the brush. I just threw away a $30 brush because of that problem.
Ken Hatcher thats too bad you threw it away. next time use a steel scrub brush to get the dried paint from the bristles followed by a brush comb after its clean. in order to get rid of all of the water you must kick it against your foot hitting the ferrule and THEN spinning it either in your hands or using a brush spinner. please not that you should only scrub and comb with the bristles NEVER acorss them and only in one direction. hope it helps
Hi, Great video guys. I just wanted to ask a question. I am not an expert at painting so unfortunately i used to get the odd few drips on places. I was wondering if this Floetrol helps with the paint not dripping so much, and if it does does it make it a bit easier to clean up the drips or could it actually go the opposite way and make it a bit more tricky to clean up anything that goes where you don't want it. Seems a very good product never heard of it before came across video by accident.
Why do you add floetrol instead of straight cold clean water? TDS on all latex paints specify all gallons can be thinned by 8 oz water max. Lots of painters find floetrol is a waste in comparison to straight water, its more expensive and it doesn't work as well as water. What's your opinion?
dirosaga it is somewhat of a waste in terms of just thinning it down but water could take away from the coverage a lot more than floetrol would. i rarely use it personally
@Carlitos Morales I used it with Behr Dynasty on walls, the paint was a little sticky and the Floetrol worked great and left the nicest smooth finish, really seems to help it level out nice even on vertical surfaces without running
I hate math, but you have got to know the basics. Flowtrol --- Add approx. 250 ML per 3.78 Litres Old math... 1 cup = 8 oz. 250 ML = 8.80 oz. 3.78 L = 133 oz. LOL A Dixie Cup holds 3 oz. Small jobs? I checked the old way... The cap on a 946 ML bottle of Flowtrol hold 1/3 of an oz. Remember to shake the hell out of these bottles. Remember to get rid of any of the slimy stuff from the rim of the bottle before pouring!
Well now I know what else flotrol is good for I understand that CA has put this product on list of banning it the liberal whacks are so worried about the enviremont they should stop driving their cars & not wear rubber shoes could contaminate the sidewalks with rubber chemical residue pure insanity...
You remind me of Woody Harrelson. That's all I could concentrate on the whole time lol.
Wow same
Haha thought the same
Also... puka beads...
Omg, YES!! Looks and sounds just like him!!
Cheers days when he had hair

All the best workers are on CZcams and not in real life. Wish I could find painters like you.
Good tip. Also, didn’t know Woody Harrelson’s brother is a painter.

Fantastic Woody ! Not just a great Hollywood actor but a painter as well .

Woody Harrelson astonished look-a-like with some cool painting job tips.

This stuff is great for keeping brush marks to a minimum.
Awesome tips man!
Did you try already to mix with Benjamin Moor Advance ?
I think painter in back is Cliff Clavin from the cheers crew, the next video is even better it Norm, and Sam, make appearances
i forgot to mention this product is for LATEX only. if you wish to have the same product for an oil paint use penetrol. made by the same company flood
Cory Simo For the lay person (me) and admittedly not great painter, what makes penetrol better than thinning with mineral spirits?
What about hybrid alkyd paint?

The guy in the back walking miles 😂😂
Great Video! Any idea what color that is you where using on the walls when you shot the video Thanks for your help
Floetrol is for latex only. Why are you using a black bristle brush as they are for oil-based paints?
I
Yup you're right, Cornelius. Definitely could have mentioned that in the video - but thanks for making it clear here in the comments!
Lol...Woody 'Harrelson' I thought the same thing
Do u like the flood better than the m-1? I’ve watched both of ur videos
When did Woody Harrelson take up painting?
Woody Harrelson does house painting?
BM Bennington Grey... but its more of a sand color then grey
Must be hard times woody got the brushes out
Floetrol sounds like Flow Troll. Think about it
Those crustations!!!! Hilarious...
thank you great tips. too bad HD does not push it
Lisa de Kramer Its sold at HD
hello this is what kind of the GLUE? or what? looks like the wood glue?
Thank you. Tell the painter behind you and tell him to move his paint tray closer to him smh
tell him that a 5 gallon pail with a roller screen is much faster and easier !!!
do you use it for the primer also?
Eerik Sweden you can but its only for latex products
Woody Harrelson's twin?
My first thought :)
Can it be used with any latex paint.time wasted
Can you use it on walls?
When painting?
@Carlitos Morales ty buddy 👍
@Carlitos Morales I used it with Behr Dynasty on walls, the paint was a little sticky and the Floetrol worked great and left the nicest smooth finish, really seems to help it level out nice even on vertical surfaces without running
Is it only for quick dry paint & not oil based ?
There's Penetrol for that.
Good vid
Does it get tid of that dog collar around your neck?
Right!
with all due respect you look like Woody Harrelson. do you get that a lot?

Woody Harrelson painting houses now….
Nice hack...Y dont u just clean up ur brush periodically rather than spreading excess medium on it that will compromise the finish of ur paint
I'm still waiting for the happy ending 😂😂😂
Deffo Woody Harrelson
Wish the bloke in the background would move that f****** roller tray how annoying is that!!
C'mon Woody Harrelson has a side job of painting
Well now I know what else flotrol is good for I understand that CA has put this product on list of banning it the liberal whacks are so worried about the enviremont they should stop driving their cars & not wear rubber shoes could contaminate the sidewalks with rubber chemical residue pure insanity...
I just keep focusing on dude rolling...out of a pan first of all, second of all bruh move it with you lol
What is the alternative to a pan?
