super cool process for a fake tread. i've never done that, but i cut my oversized nosing upsidedown to be able to jigsaw the topside and keep the return. u use diablo blades? ever try dimar? 96 tcg 12 inch. really good for rail.
You should use prefab false tread instead of the ones that comes in the box in pieces. I always put my false risers on the outside skirt before nailing skirt to stringer.

You can use woodprix instructions to build it in the cheapest way.
