agreed. i think most of us can relate to accidentally doing something, getting complimented for it and then feeling very proud. there is a whole meme format for it.
This feels like the scene in a movie where someone tells an artist that they need to compromise on their principles in order to be successful, but they decide to do what they think is right anyways and end up being wildly successful as a result, except it it’s tom cardy and he’s singing about his sick ass bonsai tree roots.
On a serious note, please never stop making oddly specific content. It's so enjoyable to consume what is essentially a minute long roll of the dice once per week
I can feel every plant parent would love this beat. Also I bet Tom would love to see my mom's "jungle" becuz there's so many plants, orchids, vines, and a bunch of vegetables growing 😂
@@annemeownie you probably want to be careful with your phrasing there mate XD putting jungle in quotes give it a verry different meaning to what you may be intending.
I never thought such a specific song would resonate with me but I definitely checked all my monstera plants this morning to see how their aerial roots are doing soooo
I live at dorms most of the year and adopted a monstera leaf last year... It could have only been with me for like a two months until it grew two more gigantic leaves and I had to bring it home. No more aerial roots or new leaves since :( Too cold and dark there. Now Im looking forward to upgrade to a flat so I can have my baby there. :D
As a member of the Danish north-eastern coast’s bonsai community I can say I am very jealous of those aerial roots you have got there - our weather conditions makes it very hard for our bonsai’s to develop such fine aerial roots 10/10 🙌
As a member of the NECEBC (North East England Bonsai Community) I would like to congratulate you on some _magnificent_ aerial roots, truly a relatable, if enviable, subject
So I pulled up youtube to find something to play in the background while I go outside to prune up my fig tree to coax it into producing some arieal roots for propagation and see this posted 17 minutes ago sitting at the top of my feed. I'd say you're right on point, mate.
I really miss when Tom made hyper-niche content instead of trying to make broadly-appealing music aimed at the largest available demographic (i.e. the South East Coast Australia Bonsai Community)
As someone whose orchids are currently only alive because their aerial roots thrived while the underground ones rotted away this is a song I can relate to way more than any sad breakup song I've ever listened to
tom cardy has finally achieved the impossible. the youtube dream. thank you for blessing us with truly relatable content for all, every race and religion are now gathered in harmony because of your post. thank you mr influencer
Despite having hit the bell, I didn't get a notification when this dropped. I am absolutely furious that I spent 10 hrs oblivious to the existence of this botany banger! Flex those fine roots Cardy!
Yes please! Maybe it could have a couple of protagonists whose stories sometimes intersect. Characters like a robot who tries to gain a better understanding of the human world, or a poor business man who's constantly being mistaken for a cop for some reason...
The closest we get to aerial roots where I'm at are willow trees. And even that small category is enough for me to appreciate the majestic beauty of these roots.
This is so surreal, I just got into bonsai recently and I've listened to all of Bonsai-en's podcasts so I recognized the SEABC by name, but I'm from the US 😂😂
Thank you Tom, I am a bonsai nerd and I feel really touched that you would write this amazing piece of music which caters to such a small demographic such as ourselves. Aerial Roots WOOOOOOO!!!
As someone who didn’t know about aerial roots this song is very informative
Educational CZcams at its best
You’ve made the 3 other people in the south east coast Australian bonsai group very happy.
We are all people in the South East coast Australian bonsai group this day.
And the Central Florida Bonsai Club! :D
We don't count Justin, he hasn't paid his dues since 2019.

@JHONNY Are you happy now, you little creep?
I love plants and as an arial root enthusiast I would like to send thanks from the north england bonsai community for raising awareness of arial roots
Can’t wait to catch up at the next Global Bonsai Conference of Countries
Then you’ll write a song about it, hopefully
@@tomcardy1 I am SO in.

Anyone:"My car" "My talents" "My smile"
Tom Cardy: "AERIAL ROOTS BITCH!!!!!!!"

My wife became very excited when she heard that the new Tom Cardy song was about plants. Never underestimate the outreach of the SECABC
"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man whose bonsai grew aerial roots"
- Sun Tzu
I have been spraying some of my bonsai 5 times a day for the past weeks to achieve exactly this! Looking good, Tom!
It has been raining non stop and so hard for a few weeks in Sydney, crazy this is my friggin A.R growth at the start of autumn
@@tomcardy1 would you say your plant put its roots where you can see them?

I've been refreshing this channel all day. "It's been a week, Cardy is about to make my day again." Gold as always Cardy.
I wasn’t expecting the upload but he definitely made my day
This song has a very specific audience comprised of two distinct groups:
1) People who already know what aerial roots are.
2) People who don't
UK aerial roots community signing in. Big up the aussie aerial roots.
Tom just wanted to show off his plant babies, and I'm very happy for him that he could do it hopefully-lucratively and in song form.
"Tom, you songs are too specific..."
Tom cardy: "You haven't SEEN specific champ!"
I never thought such a specific song would resonate with me but I definitely checked all my monstera plants this morning to see how their aerial roots are doing soooo
Same! My Monstera is growing way too many aerial roots, and I literally told her this morning: calm down b*tch :D.
As a former botanist, those are IMPRESSIVE aerial roots and that is a happy little bonsai and I love him. Good job, plant dad!
As a member of the Danish north-eastern coast’s bonsai community I can say I am very jealous of those aerial roots you have got there - our weather conditions makes it very hard for our bonsai’s to develop such fine aerial roots 10/10 🙌
i love how under all the sick beats and "get fucked" energy of the song, tom is just very proud of his aerial root. pretty wholesome stuff.
Being an avid orchid grower, I gotta say this video showcases my love for thick airy roots.
I have grown bonsai for over 50 years and I have never heard a better song about it. Fantastic.
As a member of the NECEBC (North East England Bonsai Community) I would like to congratulate you on some _magnificent_ aerial roots, truly a relatable, if enviable, subject
There's a certain joy from growing a plant well, and this song captures it flawlessly.
So I pulled up youtube to find something to play in the background while I go outside to prune up my fig tree to coax it into producing some arieal roots for propagation and see this posted 17 minutes ago sitting at the top of my feed.
I'd say you're right on point, mate.
Finally Tom returns to his roots.
This is just an excuse to show off his cool plants and I am here for it
That arp is amazing.
The chord progression is refreshing.
The trap hats are fitting.
The lyrics are so relatable to all of us.
As someone in the West Scotland Never Owned A Plant Society I feel like this song speaks to me on a spiritual level
Literally searched up why my plant had roots growing out of it earlier today and than this is made… I feel special
As an orchid enthusiast, I find the song to be the peak of readability.
I wish I was kidding when I said I'm actually growing a bonsai, and I'm STOKED to see this content
Tom finally appreciating the realest community out there🙏
I really miss when Tom made hyper-niche content instead of trying to make broadly-appealing music aimed at the largest available demographic (i.e. the South East Coast Australia Bonsai Community)
Absolute genius. You can make a banger out of anything.
I'm a simple man. I see Tom drop a new video, I watch - like - share - repeat. It's a good life.
This beat goes insanely hard my friend
Almost 2 years later, and this song still pops into into my head every single time I notice new aerial roots on my monstera. Truly an iconic banger!
This song unironically got me into bonsai, couldn't get it out of my head and now I have trees
I bought a bonsai for 80$ and it was the best purchase I’ve ever made. Thank you Tim for you inclusiveness of us plant people
Honestly I want a full version of this, it slaps
