This game has occupied so much of my headspace over the last year. This felt like a really good piece of closure for me.

charlotta is a force of nature, what an incredible actress. It's hard to even believe that she made The One, such and brutal is the difference between the character and her in this documentary
the most wonderful thing about patreon is that it lets fans fund magnificent coverage like this that is a work of art in itself, and then after 90 minutes the credits start rolling and the first words you see are A Funky Potato

You guys chose a great shooting location for the interviews. Your description from the noclip podcast was spot on.
Legit though, been so hyped for this because of the podcast and from the first few seconds I was like wow this is exactly what I was picturing.
I thought that was just the O'dwyer residence 😅
If they ever do a physical release, this Noclip documentary should come bundle with it. Like Second Sight does for blu rays.

Seriously, that transition was so well done. Bravo to the noclip team for pulling that off. I 100%'d Immortality and I still wasn't expecting it.
The directing, scheduling, and acting that went into all this is phenomenal and deserves rewards in and of themselves.
WOW you guys really hit it out of the park with this one. It’s such a vast game with so many new elements to cover (acting, costuming, sets, etc) for the NoClip team, yet it feels so freaking tight and well put together like you’ve been making these kinds of documentaries all along. Amazing work!
Other notes,
1) I was actually expecting a jumpscare with switching to The One during the credits; that’s how much this game has me in its clutches
2) I really appreciated the stress / worry that Charlotta went through during this process; almost all of her scenes are more intense / emotional and it seems she’s an actress that really experiences the role, so absolutely props to her for putting so incredibly much into one of the most uniquely standout characters of any media I’ve seen
3) Danny killed it with the interview location; freaking gorgeous backdrops
4) I swear I could just listen to Sam talk about film for hours, his depth of knowledge and expression of that knowledge is just *chefs kiss*

Making this game must have been so cumbersome, just hearing about the fact that there are 3 full scripts to each of the fake movies, holy fucking shit.
Jacob Gellers Video made me play this game and i absoluteley loved it. Charlotta Mohlin especially was so mezmerizing. I think about this game every so often. It feels important.
I JUST finished Immortality a week ago, such a great time for this doc to come out!
Just need to shout out you guys going the extra mile in editing to make an incredible documentary even better with the little touches of the rewind and match cut transitions from the game. Keep up the incredible work!

The first time you activate the rewind mechanic, it blew me away. When Manon holds up the keys in Minsky is saved in my mind, captivating shot.
Gaming moment of the year for me was playing through this and first encountering The One. Only time I can remember playing something that actually *shocked* me
yeah it gave me intense goosebumps when i first figured it out
I had watched Jacob Geller's video about this game last year, but only just got round to playing it myself. Even though I knew what to expect, it still gave me spinetingles uncovering each of the hidden clips that I did. And seeing that pivotal scene of The One singing/miming... totally devastating.

Charlotta is such a talent and a lovely person. I mainly remember everything from her in the whole game, every scene stood out

Spot on. The other DLC is Jacob Geller's analysis video... almost as mesmerising as The One.
Very cool you got to do this. As you say, it's not typical to interview a film crew about a video game.
Three whole movies, written, just for one game. I hope one day we'll get those scripts. I bet they'd be great to defictionalise.

Playing Immortality was an *experience*, I really loved it. Great doc, especially enjoyed the Acting (Part Two) chapter that gets into prop guns on set & of course how the intimacy scenes were handled. Super interesting look at the more intense parts of the game / filmmaking process here.
The interview was already pretty cool, but at 6:10 i literally screamed. Nice one

I was already blown away by the actors whilst playing the game, particularly because most of the scenes are so long and one mistake could mean going all the way back to the beginning, but having now watched this I have even more respect for everyone involved seeing just how complex the behind-the-scenes work was. Especially Manon Gage, considering how versatile her performance was - she deserves all the accolades.
It's amazing. The documentary just went by. I could watch hours more. Tks no clip and tks sam barlow and crew for immortality, one of the top games ever

I adored Immortality. I couldn't get it out of my head for days, even after I finished. One of the best, most captivating games I've played. I hope to get the opportunity to see both Charlotta and Manon in more projects, they both possess such talent.
This is the best video on this entire website. Everyone and everything is SO on point. They all get it like we did. They're all excited like we are. It's just pure joy coming through my screen and I'm screaming of happiness right now

Also, the fact the two leads still have tea together just warmed my heart! All of the actors were mesmerizing.

I remember when I played this game for the first time. I only played it for one day, but like; I played it that ENTIRE day because I was absolutely captivated the entire time.
I went and found this game on gamepass and played it because of this noclip documentary.
Thanks NoClip, what a game experience! I felt like I was part of the film crew, and got so invested in all their offscreen relationships.
Another great documentary by NoClip and I appreciate how it focuses on the filmmaking and acting as we already know the story behind the game design. The production of Immortality is just mindblowing in its complexity and scale, the planning involved and logistics along with the tight timeline are just a testament to the talent and dedication of the crew. I'm really glad they all got the awards and acknowledgements, there's nothing else like this Immortality in all of gaming.
The best Behind the scenes peak into the making of Immortality that anyone could hope for. Was lovely to get these interviews and insight into one of my favorite gaming/immersive experiences from last year. Kudos to the team behind Immortality and to Noclip. Thank you.

I have just hammered through this game this week knowing this was coming out. Can't wait to watch this. Im quite the 'gameplay first' type of gamer but this was such a fantastic experience of a game start to end ❤❤❤
Another fantastic documentary right here. I always leave a noclip doc with deeper inspiration for my own craft, admiration of the hard work shown by the individuals in game/media development, and a deeper love for video games.
Its incredible that they managed to make the situation in the game the situation in the real world. I wish that the three films were made and that I could see them, but they aren't. Like the in universe situation, they are essentially lost media. This game cemented my love for FMV games, and shows that they can work, can be compelling for storytelling, and are absolute proof that games can, and are, art.

This is super exciting, I think the game needs more recognition.
Wonderful work, gentlemen. A compelling documentary, and very well edited. This feels like a particularly good distillation of the Noclip team ethic.
It's really really cool seeing how actors play as actors, /everything/ else amazing about Immortality aside it's something I always noticed and appreciated when playing the game.
This is incredibly fascinating, thanks for creating it. It’s so odd that this feels like Inception, like this is the real world, then you have The One and The Other One, then the in game behind the scenes/filmmakers, then finally the worlds of the films themselves

this documentary is revealing how few of the scenes I unlocked in what I thought was a thorough playthrough!
I skipped over this on game pass a few times, then saw you guys made a video on it and immediately downloaded it and played it with my partner through before watching. Safe to say, we're glad we did 😁
I just love how much everyone in this project loved it; now I just need to play the game... (no worries; already forgot the spoilers).
I dig the little editing match cut flourishes ripped right from the game to cut between interviews. Good touch.

I just discovered Jacob Geller yesterday and his video on this game (even featured here at 1:15:00) blew me away. There's so much depth in this game. I'm glad video essays and documentaries on games exist because I would never be able to piece up all this details.

Wonderful documentary. It was such a bizarre month when this game consumed every late night gaming session. I've never played anything like this before. As both a gamer and a film lover, it was great to peek behind the curtain of this audacious masterwork.
