Claire states that the hardest part to get used to is "the sound", says its safe because "everyone there knows what they are doing", and says that it is a great way to relieve stress. She then suggests that Alex could really benefit from it and walks out of the room to find her, Phil chases after shouting "You stay away from her she has a doll!"

Also haley hasn't showed that she's attracted to women yet at that point. It's not weird phil thinks haley won't have sex with a girl. This is not phil not understanding the existence of bisexual. This is him panicking without being logical for a moment and then coming back to senses.
