- The start of something special.. a Flawless Makeover! We received a nomination from a housing association, giving us a chance to meet people who are in need of helping hand. I thought we was just clearing the garden, but a last minute idea from me and my dad thought how could we try prevent the weeds from coming back. So we went down to our local shop and bought some bark and membrane, they even gave an extra bag for free as a gesture of good will - www.tcturf.com
It just felt amazing going that extra mile! So grateful for you all watching and being apart of this journey.

Housing associations, local authorities etc should have a responsibility to help tenants look after and maintain properties that have green areas if the tenants are unable to do so themselves. The positive impact on their wellbeing by simply being able to sit outside and enjoy theirs green space will be huge! Great work as always.
This is so very true, they won't help me,
Some people won't help themselves , they are just lazy and stupid. There's a bloke 4 doors from me hidden a load of junk and rubbish at the back of his garden, hoping it will magicly vanish into thin air.
They used to when I worked in Social Housing from 1987 to 2013. Any property with a garden that was empty would be done up and the garden would be sorted. I made a suggestion to the Management about taking photographs of everything and keeping them in the tenancy file and getting the tenant to sign that they were given the property in good order. Obviously if the new tenants were elderly and or disabled then we would make sure the garden got looked after if the tenants didn't have any family.
It is not Flawless Cleaning Services anymore. It is Flawless Transformations. Honestly you have crossed over, and I am very happy for both of you.

I lost my Dad in ‘95 as well. Still not a day goes by that I don’t think of him and miss him. That’s why I get so much enjoyment watching Ben with his father. Just the love and joy they share being together gives me a sense of peace. And to watch Ben with his own children, passing on the love and pure joy he learned from his dad, well it brings a tear to my eye every time.

What an epic achievement! Brambles are so horrible to remove - you and your dad did an amazing job there. I’m glad you put down so much membrane - hopefully that will dissuade the jungle from reappearing. I bet the whole neighbourhood are really grateful as well as the lady living there.

First, I was cracking up at that intro. I always anticipate what shanagins your dad will be entertaining us with every week. I see he finally put his big boy pants on. That was a beast pulling out those roots. My back was aching just watching that. Now that lovely lady can enjoy getting some fresh air. The joy in the boys laughter makes me smile. They are so much fun to watch. Growing up in front of our eyes.
Ben, the yard transformations you have done for Norman are my favorite. Helping people like him who are overwhelmed, depressed or unable to do it themselves demonstrates such care & kindness. I've been binge watching your videos over the past week or so as I'm recovering from a virus. I just wanted to say what a boost they are. Not only are you making a huge difference to the lives of those you are helping, you are also putting a smile on the people's faces who get to watch them.
You can tell you are passionate about what you do with the level of care and attention you give. It's not just a clean, you take the time to do all the finishing touches as well like washing down windows and tidying up edges. Truly amazing work.
Sometimes we believe the ability to change a person's life will cost more than we have and require knowledge or skills we don't have. You and Dad Paul remind us that helping someone with their yard, their patio or walkway can bring joy, relief, appreciation and an honest reminder that there is inherent good in others. Simple acts and a good dose of elbow grease can produce smiles that last for a long time. Just to let you know and ease your mind, the toads and Newts need moisure but not wet... Wet is not there life.... They will happily burro into the moist mulch to make a home and go hunting for worms and insects next door at night ... They will settle in somewhere near ... only in the late spring do they seek out water to lay eggs ... then they migrate back to the moist undergrowth... hope you feel better ... it is nice to come across caring people of little creatures ... I have a 25' Pond in my yard; every spring I see 40 or 50 pairs of toads in my very middle class suburban home POND .... then they disappear back to moist homes

Ponds also need lots of looking after. No disrespect intended, but that level of maintenance seems to be beyond the occupant of the home. It would end up a mess and a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
One of the best parts is seeing how many people were willing to get these folks help in some way (from sweat and work, to a simple free bag of bark from a company who cares). You LOVE to see it!

If you were nominated by the housing association i hope they gave you something for your time and work. I love how gentle you were with the frogs and newts. Did you know all toads are frogs but not all frogs are toads? Daft bit of trivia. My sons nickname when he was a child was toady cos he was naughty we said he was a little bugger but when he started repeating it we changed it to toad. A lot of newts are endangered so you being so caring with them was lovely.

We've decided just to keep ours & trim it back a bit as needed. Provides so much food for the birds (insects hide out in/under it year round, plus berries in late summer/autumn). Our garden isn't really big enough or flat enough to be sat out in anyway so decided to just let the wildlife have a mini haven in the middle of an area of mostly concrete.
