Valentine's Cocktail from The Madonna Inn

You're probably wondering how the hell this pink sugary dessert cocktail fits into the Breezeway Cocktail Hour… It all stems from the 1958-born Madonna Inn. Travel with us to San Luis Obispo to discover some of the secret Tiki things about this incredible historic landmark!
To make the Pink Cloud:
--------------------------------------
4 ounces strawberry puree
2 ounces half and half
1 ounce creme de cacao
1½ ounces strawberry-infused vodka
Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Blend with crushed ice.
Pour into a tulip glass
Garnish with pink sugar crystals and a maraschino cherry.

Stayed at the Madonna Inn a few years back - in the Kona Room which was all rock. Very cool. And did try the Pink Cloud as well were told it was their signature cocktail.

You can make your own strawberry vodka. Cut fresh strawberries in half, soak them in vodka for a couple of hours to overnight. When the color has leached out of the strawberries. the flavor probably has too. It doesn't keep very well, so just make what you need.

You would get a brighter, more vibrant pink color if you used white creme de cacao instead of the dark variety. The flavor is the same.

Not too sure on this drink. The closest drink I’ve had and liked was a few years ago having a Miami Vice (half frozen pina colada half frozen strawberry daiquiri) in some bar on south beach, Miami. My cocktail tastes have changed a lot since then.

Pink cloud does not include strawberry. It gets its pink from Creme De Noyaux.

The drink is shaken and strained into a martini glass. No whip cream. White creame de cocoa, creame de Noyaux and half n half. No vodka, no strawberry. I was a Trader Vic's Bartender.
