    Love your videos. I just ran across this one today. The timing was great. I am in the middle of redesigning my room including a new custom desk, some new 500 series gear and I just got, yesterday, a pair of isoAcoustics stands for my near fill Adam Audio speakers. It is amazing the difference that they make. I didn't realize my dest was coupling with the speakers to create excessive bass. Additionally, having the ribbon tweeters at ear level instead of chin level gives me amazing detail. I got the stands before building the desk so I knew that they would fit on the shelf above my built in racks on my desktop. Thanks

      Oh awesome. I'm glad it made such a difference to your speaker sound.
      Thanks for leaving a comment! Good luck with the new space!

    I have my mid/highs on Isoaccouatic stands which are on top of foam boards on my desk.

    I think you are simply absolutely right. Three things are the most obvious and I can't do them 😁We've got war here and the s300 can't land anytime, no way 🙃
    Anyway. Thanks for clearing everything else redundant.

      Not a problem? Are you in the Ukraine?

      @@diyrecordingstudio Yes, second biggest Ukraine city Kharkiv, most east, most students. Before the war. About 30km from the border. We give a fight, same as Chernigiv (most northern regional center not contested also) and got a lot of damages. czcams.com/video/TUyCIPpTOXM/video.html Like that fab500 fall one block away from our home.

    Hey man this is a super useful video! I got a question that is sort of specific to my room shape/size if you don't mind - I just got my first pair of monitors with a set of Adam Audio T5Vs and am excited to setup my home studio space, but I'm not really sure what wall would be best to setup my desk on. My room is shaped kind of like an angular P with the leg portion of the P being a short little nook. If you were to cut out the nook, my room would be a rectangle, but the nook makes for an awkward extra bit of space that I've placed a keyboard in. I guess it would sort of look like this:
    A
    _________________________________________________
    | |
    | |
    D | |
    ------------ |. B
    | |
    | |
    |_________________________________________. |
    C
    Sorry for the crude drawing, but hopefully it came out alright lol. Anyway, without the nook, this room is about 9.25x12 feet, then the nook adds about 3.25x4 feet of extra space (sorry for the dumb American imperial system too btw haha). I currently have my desk positioned on wall A in the center, more or less. Wall C is only about 5 feet behind me when I'm sat in my chair at my desk and I'm not sure if my desk would be better in the center of wall A, like how I currently have it, or if it should be in the center of wall B so that there is more space for the monitors to project before the sound reflects off wall D. Would the nook imbalance things so much that the shorter distance between walls A and B would be better, or would the added distance of being setup on wall B still be better, despite wall D being on even due to the nook?
    Sorry again for the strange and elaborate question. I'm just a newbie lol. Cheers!

    Hey, thanks for the good tips. Just wondering what do you think about my situation? I have 2 PC screens on my desk and I don't have much space from both sides to place my speakers in a way so that they are not blocked by screens and to keep the twitters at the hight of my ears. Any advice on how to place studio monitors with a 2-screen desk setup?

    • @diyrecordingstudio
      @diyrecordingstudio  Před 3 měsíci

      Awesome Question, I have them mounted one above the other. Bigger screen for mix window faders or video playback on top, smaller 40 inch screen for editing below with speaker on the side.
      Hope this helps, If you need more advice, I offer audio consultations via my website. Email me at mitch@thediyrecordingstudio.com

    Damn my studio monitors are in the corner but I have 3 PC monitors so I have to put them on the other side of the 2 monitors. So they’re kinda closer to the corners because of that. Think I’m still good? They’re both pointing at me though at least.

    • @diyrecordingstudio
      @diyrecordingstudio  Před rokem

      Depends how close. If they’re in the corners there’s definitely going to be some issues.

    “All that bass building up in the corners” is one of the most regurgitated pieces of misinformation. Your entire studio can be expertly treated with ZERO products in your corners.
