As an artist, I always love it when I find other visual artists who resonate with ripped, decaying, or deconstructed work, and your collages/paintings/vintage found object work is so up my alley. Love this whole process and the results.

Your pictures give me a sense of the passage of time. Billboards that have the remains of many different posters, seemingly unconnected...yet still connected.

The fear of not being able to make something amazing again is REAL! After a long time away it can be so hard. Sometimes when I sell my favourite pieces I always worry of losing them and never creating something again! Then I remind myself by getting back in the studio that I am more than capable of creating again😋

This is so true! I remember one of the first videos I watched of yours where you talked about this… and it resonated with me so much. It’s good to hear it’s not just me!

Not only does your incredibly creative artwork inspire, but the sage advice given makes you an excellent role model that has been missing in social media. Thanks for keeping it real, you have much to be proud of.😻

I love the tips, and I’d offer one more…The creative process isn’t linear and often requires vulnerability to navigate. Your willingness to document and share your process models these principles and inspires us to take the first step. Keep up the great work!

so inspiring. Ive always used alternative art supplies. My favorite is dollar store nail polish. Cheap, virtually every color and comes with its own brush! Paper napkins, office supplies, old jacked up books...the rag content of old books is so much easier to work with. Dumpster diving behind the GW...no shame. Clock parts and buttons! Puffy paint for texture. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Andrew, I'm so glad you explained what you perceived/intended the art to represent/be experienced as. I've not been a connoisseur of more ambiguous art pieces, unless there was an explanation, so a big thank you.

People say that, but it's actually talent+ immersion + obsession + experience + learning + experiment + practice + layers + random accidents + a hundred more things. Not giving up when it isn't going the way you thought it might, just keep going. And all the things that Andrew said.

I'm not an artist so I'm really not familiar with artists' processes but wow, I had no idea so much work went into creating a piece like this. I guess I naively thought collage/mixed media art (not sure exactly what it's called sorry!) was thrown together but this gave me such a greater appreciation for it. So much background thought and collecting and even detailed measuring (!!!)... very impressive. Kudos to you!

Your drawing is impressive Andrew! you've put some work in there as well. And again, the recurring theme to what you do with the eyes . . . and thank goodness for deadlines eh? seems to me that 75% of the work gets done in 25% of the time . . . and tip 15? take time for a G&T on the veranda once in a while.

I just found your channel and it just Inspires me to begin to come out of my shell.. I see so many incredible things that I love and appreciate and I try them and then question if I am doing well enough.. my own worst critic 🙄.. I love jumping in and letting my mind and soul just roam around across the canvas ( new canvas's scare me to death - it's like staring into the abyss 🥴) Goodwill keeps me challenged and constantly pushing myself to create.
So happy to have found your channel ❤

So happy you posted an art session! You have a good eye for selecting the right elements while adding touches with paint or pencil (something I'm trying to do lately). It's like assembling a puzzle in a way. It can be a frustrating struggle but so satisfying when it comes together! If it falls below expectations, just do another one using what you learned from what didn't please you. Anyway, well done here 👏👏👏

I love the small details you added to the matting. I have a thing about creating the matting area. I love your idea of how they are recollections from different POVs. I like how the images, like in our memories that we don't completely recall, you filled in the details. They both turned out fantastic! Thank you for sharing your process. Keep going.

Thanks for sharing your process, it really resonates with me as I’m a textile artist creating home decor and wearable art. I constantly have to push away the thought ”will someone like this and buy it” as it blocks my creativity. It will always get best if I just follow my own ideas and what pleases my own eyes. Made to order is not my favourite, even if I get ”free hands”, there is always that nagging nervous feeling…. Will they like it…. Deadlines are good though, as you say ☺️ Your work is stunning, I have always loved collage art and mixed media art. My favourite way to create with textiles is collages!

I wonder if it would be profitable to sell a set of postcards (mini prints, really). I like making collages of postcards in cheap frames, particularly as you can change it out at will so you always have something interesting to look at. But these may be good in a little frame, placed on a desk
