I heard Antonio Banderas was offered the part but turned it down since he had recently done the Evita movie and was afraid if he did another musical movie so soon after he risked getting stuck in that genre.
Antonio is nothing short of amazing. He shines as an actor with Puss In Boots, Zorro, and more. He has the voice to do Phantom well hitting all the notes. That takes talent that you’re born with.
Antonio Banderas brings out the real image of the elusive and mysterious man behind the mask which is the cornerstone of the phantom of the opera. Sara Brightman brings a stunning sexy presence to the whole performance. Together they effortlessly capture the hearts and minds of the audience.
