- My 1926 Luxemotor barge mv Lucia and its huge single cylinder Berkel engine called FatBoy. The engine was only about 40hp and more like a steam engine than a diesel engine.

This is great to see. I used to live on MS Lucia in The Hague from '88 till '94. Wish I had more photographs.
Hi, I lived on Lucia for over 6 years in Windsor, UK. After I sold her she won Best Dutch Barge award in England. She's a fantastic boat. I had all modern technologies fitted in Hoorn and in Zaandam, 5kw generator, ACV central heating, Hydrofor, stainless steel water tanks etc. The Berkel engine is now in a museum in Holland.
Nice to see the Engine. We have a Luxemotor that original (in the past) was sailing with a single Berkel Engine too. Are you stil sailing with it? good luck Oskar.
I no longer own the ship. The Berkel engine was bought by Kramer's of Zaandam when they did some (very good) work on the ship back in 1999. Maybe they still have it...
Thank You, I am looking were the Berkels are, and I am looking for a Small one to compleet my ship.
