I disagree. I think when Rebecca is at her worst is when her mental illness has taken over, not drugs. The drugs bring her slightly to a more "normal" frame of mind. Mark used to think the same thing and I believe he was clueless as to the severity of Rebecca's mental illness. Many drugs used to treat mental illness are ones addicts want to use to get high, but they actually treat mental illness when used correctly.
He might be tweaking less than when Mark was funding him, but still tweaking

I agree... all of the homeless addicts need a 100% safe, drug free place to live for a longgggg time. With counseling and medical support, life skills... retraining for society. Then move on to transitional housing. It's a long process to come back to life.
Allot of it WILL take its toll on life out there. No living thing deserves that way of living and dieing. Having to see it and trying to help is taking its toll too. Then there's the preditors who swoop in and take their toll on the vulnerable homeless elderly and youth. All while our Government shifts their eyes to the undocumented aliens and foreign conflicts over seas and spending trillions in order to make millions in personal profits.
The mayor of this hell hole who probably makes 250,thousand a year should be in jail! This is beyond ridiculous how can he show his face in public?
He should be made to go live on those filthy streets for a week, then see how fast he would get it cleaned up. Easy to sit on easy street and not care about the filthy side of the city,
What I receive from this Rebecca is her not having an enabler. Mark really cares about Rebecca and used to fund her EVERYDAY life. Phones, connected her with ppl to get her on track, food, hotel rooms, cash, shopping sprees, etc. He genuinely wants what’s best for her. So he said he had to cut her off, completely. As soon as she’s ready to get herself together, Mark and Cosmo are going to help her get on her feet. I’m here for it all. Fck what everyone else is saying. ISWIS

He is a savant(brilliant) under all that mentally illness and drugs...sometimes u catch that.. bring him a Dr pepper in yr bag already ready for him when u see him next and see what happens. I bet s/he is Egyptian and French. In one video s/he speaks French without an accent and over time has dropped clues that indicate a knowledge of mythology and literature that doesn't come from casual learning. Obviously mentally unwell, perhaps manic, and clearly addicted, but I'm sensing Rebecca comes from a relatively well off and cultured background. If a bit pop culture obsessed. Knows stuff I don't!
I know. Rebecca knows things they don't even teach in most U.S. colleges. That's an old wealth private college prep-school education that I think we are seeing at times. How she keeps up with pop culture in her situation is anyone's guess.

I think her education was extremely GOOD, and that the family has a lot of money.
Rebecca came here to pursue freedom, freedom to self destruct is what she found.
She’s brilliant, no doubt, but there’s an underlying psych issue that compels her to keep using drugs, the drugs must tamp it down.
@@crazycatladyjo2688 Well, I don't know if it's old wealth, but there is certainly money and culture in Rebecca's background. As for the pop culture knowledge, I agree. It's surprisingly detailed and up to date. A cell phone? Internet café? Conversation? I don't know how someone living on the streets keeps up with so much current pop culture trivia.
At one point I thought the accent was fake, but even when completely trashed, it's in place. And one can't fake good grammar, diction and vocabulary so long without a strong foundation. And some of the literary references Rebecca has dropped so appropriately can't be faked in my opinion. I'm sure there are some lies in her story, but aN Egyptian dad and French mum aren't so unbelievable. My son lives in NYC. I'm American, his mum is Argentine, and he was born and raised in France. Someone might call BS on him, but it's the truth. So many third culture kids out there. Not so fantastical that Rebecca is one of those kids...
The obvious drug addiction and other psychological issues maybe make everything Rebecca says dubious to viewers.

If so, when did s/he enter and in what condition. I can't see them letting her in the country in her current state. What happened in the interim. Sh/he's been very cagey about details....

Literally hell on earth
I've been following Rebecca for almost a year now on Soft White Underbelly, I have never seen her in this state. I've seen her completely sober which she is completely different from this. Rebecca needs to get help. She has so much potential and is such a bright soul.
