  • Rebecca Many Grey Horses recounts Niitsitapi, Blackfoot, legends of the celestial bodies Miohpoisiks Mii-oo’h-boo’h-sicks, or Pleiades; the Big Dipper; and the Wolf Trail, or Milky Way. Many Grey Horses also recounts the legends of how Scarface was cured by the sun, and how the star people gave the medicine bundle to the Niitsitapi.
The legends validate the connectedness of the cosmos; highlighting and showcasing the intricate relationship that the Blackfoot have with the sun, moon, stars, and cosmic beings.

I appreciate you taking the time to do this. We should all be grateful for your teachings and pass on traditions of all Native people.

Thank you very much for sharing your stories about the Cosmos. The story of the medicine bundle reminds me of the story of the Lakotas about Falling man.

A culture that is so rich and yet we know very little about. The native nations should be understood and appreciated by all people who share North America.

This is pretty good but skips the time lines ,there's 7 , in these it would explain that the moon was the original mother and her name and how she got that name. Why she was shunned and how the earth came to be our mother thru infidelity. Even today we don't stare at the moon or call out our own name at night. Also to not cover the how the big dipper came to help the people so children weren't neglected needs to fit in your story.
