  • In the first 35 minutes of this session, Ajahn Brahm leads a guided meditation to tuck your brain in for a well-deserved rest. Ajahn then answers questions about topics such as lights in the mind (nimittas), approaching painful experiences, interpreting teachings from Ajahn Chah, how mental commentary fades as the joy of direct experience shines through, and how fear of freedom gets in the way of freedom. Ven Canda reads out messages of gratitude from retreatants and Ajahn Brahm talks about his support of the Anukampa Project and how laypeople can contribute to supporting the bhikkhunis.

"Wisdom Of Silence" Online Retreat with Ajahn Brahm, Ven Candā & Ven Upekkhā, 18th-20th June 2024
Silence is what we develop through stillness. It is not merely the absence of noise; silence is a gateway to profound insight. When we are still, the mind becomes tranquil and we move beyond the boundaries of conventional knowledge. As we learn to trust the silence and release the clamour of the five-sense world, the mind energises and becomes blissful and bright. In deep, meditative stillness, the Dhamma ~ timeless truth ~ reveals itself and you see things as they truly are.
    ABOUT US:
Anukampa Bhikkhuni Project is a charity that aims to spread the Buddha's teachings and give women the opportunity to train toward full bhikkhuni ordination for the very first time in the UK. Over the years we have developed a diverse and dedicated spiritual community around these aims and recently found a property! Anukampa Grove Bhikkhuni Monastery, in Boar's Hill, Oxford, is surrounded by peaceful woodland. We moved there only on March 22nd, 2024. In this exciting phase we welcome your support to enable us to cover the significant running costs, make essential renovations and adaptations to the property, and welcome visitors and aspiring monastic trainees as soon as we can!
Donations of any amount are very gratefully received, either as one-off gifts or standing orders. UK tax payers can claim gift aid, increasing your donation by 25%. International bank transfers can be made via Wise.
