    THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge. Was extremely helpful in me being able to repair my son's laptop. He's in college, on a shoestring budget, and this laptop needs to last him at least a couple more years. Now that's still likely to happen :)

    You remove the plastic strips at the base of that display and then pull out the 3m command strips which adhere the screen to the clamshell - then it just lifts out. This is one of the easier models to change the screen on without breaking it.

    Thanks for this vid. It goes in depth enough to be useful. Glad to know now that the SSD is upgradable. I had been told that its wasn't. I will definitely recommend you to others!

    Thanks for this video. This model has a big issue with a flickering screen. Lenovo never came with a fix. Issue seems to be caused with the cable and screen connectors. Would nbe great if you could show how to open the screen part. Thanks

    Thanks a lot for this video. I visually inspected the motherboard and nothing LOOKS wrong with it. Still no idea why bluetooth, USB-A, fingerprint scanner and camera all failed at once. Ugh

    Is it possible to upgrade the RAM? My particular model has 2 sticks for a total of 8gb, and a 240gb SSD. I was thinking of upgrading it to 16gb and a 1tb SSD

      I dont think so, they are a custom shape. Get some external USB speakers for an easy bump in sound quality.

    These laptops are junk. Touch screen, usb port, and 1 of the usb c, all stopped working. Finger print reader works when it wants. 1 of the fans also needed to be replaced. POS. I will never buy another lenovo.

    • @sebastianjost
      @sebastianjost Před 3 lety +1

      I admit the fingerprint reader is pretty unreliable but other than that my laptop worked absolutely fine for the last two years. I would definitely recommend them.
      I wonder whether you were just really unlucky or mistreated the laptop?
      I use mine every day for several hours, switch between laptop and tablet mode very often and regularly bring the CPU, RAM and Graphics to it's limits. So I can't really imagine a more demanding stress test that doesn't involve tossing it around.

    • @werdlyfe9577
      @werdlyfe9577 Před 3 lety +1

      @@sebastianjostThe laptop was not mistreated at all and a simple google search would show you that they're all very common problems with the Yoga 720. Perhaps you got lucky? Glad you're enjoying yours, but there are many better options out there in the same price range. The only time the laptop was tossed around was when I tossed the POS in my closet after upgrading to a MSI GS66. I have owned many laptops and without a doubt the Lenovo Yoga 720 was the worst one.

    • @warrenmcclure7819
      @warrenmcclure7819 Před 2 lety

      Really? I'm sad to hear about that because I've had great luck with my Lenovos and wish you had the same luck. I love my machine (the same exact as in video) and I wouldn't trade it for most things. Maybe you just got a lemon anyways hope you find the laptop that's right for you! Whatever you do though do not and I repeat DO NOT buy a new MacBook pros xD Now those are hard core piles of crap if you ask me!
